Occoneechi State Park has several miles of wooded and lake view hiking paths, Indian artifacts visitors center and store, playground area, etc. Quaint, quiet, small town with antique shops, restaurants, historic sites, several state parks (with swimming areas), boat launches, etc. Big annual Lakefest in town 3rd weekend in July with fireworks, helicopter rides, hot air balloons, street fair, bands, etc.
