Whether you find yourself on the covered porches in the front of the house, on the deck to the side that gets sunshine most of the day, or if you're out back on the Patio Garden, you'll know you're in the heart of the Rocky Mountains the moment you step outside. You can sit in the sunshine most days, all year round, or wrap yourself in a blanket under the stars as you watch the moon traverse from one side of the valley to the other.
The inside is comfortable for entertaining, relaxing, celebrating, or simply enjoying those you are with. There's a well equipped kitchen with two ovens, two sinks, and an island; an eating nook off the kitchen with great views of the valley, a sitting room also off the kitchen with a large tv and comfy sectional sofa around a fireplace, a formal dining room for gathering, and a living room with four chairs and ottomans surrounding another fireplace. There is a laundry room on the main floor.
The mudroom harnesses your ski gear or holds a sweater to grab for a walk above the golf course in the evening. The lower level has another large TV for movies, an original XBox to play DVDs or some games, or to entertain you as you put some miles on the treadmill. There is floor space down there for sleeping bags.
There are two king beds, one double, two twins, and a twin daybed with regular mattresses. There is a queen futon in the room with the two twin beds and a twin mattress under the daybed.
In the main house, the master bedroom has a king bed, steam shower, soaking tub, and double sinks and dressing areas. The front bedroom has a full bed with its own bath that has a tub shower. The back bedroom has twin beds and a queen futon and its own bath with a tub shower.
The attached Guest Quarters that are over the garage have a king bed, its own bath with a tub shower, and a sitting room/office with a twin day bed and a twin mattress beneath it. There's also a private covered porch off the sitting room that overlooks the valley or serves as a great sleeping porch for a slew of sleeping bags.

Our party of 9 had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful mountain retreat! Siouxzy went above and beyond providing all the required ammenities and personal touches to insure our stay was the best ever! With its Nantucket design, this home is both elegant and cozy. It was such a joy to sit on the grand front porch observing wild turkeys, deer, hatching baby robins, and the beautiful night sky! The private back patio was perfect for entertaining and provided yet another fabulous environment for our large group. The beautiful, spacious interior accommodated all of us with ease and comfort! Life couldn't have been more perfect while staying at this gorgeous 5 Star home. Thank you so much, Siouxzy...we are definitely looking forward to our next visit to your paradise!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1994
About the owner: I first came to Colorado in 1964, as a kid, to ski with my family and this place has been in my heart ever since. I've lived here most of the time since 1978, and when I leave, it always calls me back. My two wonderful kids are grown and mostly gone and my dogs and I have been spending more and more time in another state of late. I love having people in the house when I'm here and when I'm not and someone suggested I try this to give others an opportunity to appreciate the magic of this place. Most people who visit comment on how relaxing and rejuvinating this place is, so I thought I'd share some of that.
Why the Owner Chose Glenwood Springs:
I designed and built this house back in 1994 with the intent of providing some place comfortable and special to raise my kids, nestled in the trees. Besides being our home, I wanted a place where my friends and my family were comfortable visiting with us for a week or weeks at a time, so it was important to have enough spaces to gather or to have some quieter time alone, and this house does that well.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house is within an hour of the world class resorts of Aspen and Vail, moments from the local golf course up on the hill, and minutes from the famous Hot Springs Pool and downtown Glenwood Springs. It is about two miles to the pool or downtown. Sunlight Mountain Resort is 30 minutes away and is a great family ski area or place to make fresh tracks all day long on a powder day.
There are bike trails connecting us to Aspen and to Vail, or to ride along the river or up to The Village Smithy in Carbondale for breakfast. We have kayaking, rafting, Gold Medal Fishing waters, hiking, music, some great restaurants for families or a special night out, snow shoeing, and so much more, or you can choose to simply stay in and enjoy the comforts of this home with its fabulous views and the secluded, heavily treed property on the hill.
