Big Quiet Modern Park Slope Brooklyn Apt with Leafy Green View
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No

This is a large one bedroom apartment which takes up the entire second floor of our private house. The apartment has a private entrance, a full bathroom, eat-in kitchen, living room, and big bedroom with a brand new firm king size bed. One of the couches in the living room can be converted into a full size bed to accommodate another adult couple or kids. We just finished renovating the place so everything is brand new. The apartment is sunny and quiet with leafy great views out the front and back windows, along with two skylights and chirping birds. There is internet access and a TV with basic service.
The apartment is located in South Slope/Greenwood Heights area of Brooklyn. It is a 10 min walk to the R train at Prospect St or the F train at 15th St. Parking is readily available on the street.
It is a 5 min walk to various neighborhood restaurants and cafes (a sweet little coffee shop, an upscale farm-to-table restaurant, and a great gourmet Italian pizza place) as well as the Greenwood Cemetery, site of the Battle of Brooklyn in the Revolutionary War, and National Historical Landmark, and just a beautiful place to take a walk among old growth trees.

We just returned from our stay and were very happy with this apt, it was very larger clean and comfortable. Claire was very helpful and even allowed us to stash or bags on our last day as our flight was in the early evening. The walk to the subway was easy and an easy hop into Manhattan. We found a great local bar, Toby's, that had a fabulous thin crust pizza, and we had coffee at Southside with the most delicious pastry. Our last day we explored Brooklyn and found it a short walk to Propsect Park and had a great lunch at Dizzys. Definitely recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.

This apartment is located on the edge of Park Slope in a quiet area which is easy to access from subway or roads. It is quiet, clean, and spacious. The owner lives downstairs which is nice if there is anything you need. We walked everywhere and it worked well for us. 7th Ave has lots of shops, restaurants, and bars and is a pleasant place to walk any time of the day or night. The subway is a bit of a walk but easily accessible. We had everything we needed and would be happy to rent this spot again. Thanks Claire!Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

We stayed the weekend of October 21st through 23rd 2011. I ran a race at Prospect Park and wanted to be close enough to walk. I felt very safe and fell in love with Brooklyn... All the charm of Manhattan withouth all the tourists. The apartment was much larger than we expected. There we three of us and there was more than enough room. I've stayed in Times Square and the apartment was at least three times the size of a typical hotel room and 1/3 the price. Claire and Ed were very nice and provided great suggestions for food and the closest subway stations. The apartment has everything you need...from a refrigerator to coffee pot and plates and dishes. They even left us coffee and creamer. There are great pubs/restaurants within walking distance and Prospect Park is absolutely beautiful. The trip in to Manhattan was 20 - 30 minutes via subway. We rode the subway all the way up to North Central Park and had no problems. On two occasions, we took a cab/livery in/out of the city. One to Downtown Manahattan which was $20 and one from Central Park that was $30ish. We flew in/out of Laguardia and the cab ride was about 30 minutes and $40 each way. I am so glad we decided to stay in Brooklyn. I think I like it more than Manhattan now. I will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I both grew up in the Midwest. We've been in New York for about 15 years and are raising our daugher here in Brooklyn. We just finished renovating the upstairs apartment of our house so our parents could come hang out with us, and their granddaughter (that's who they're most interested in). When they're not here, we rent out the place - mostly to other grandparents who are visiting the Park Slope area, but we're open to whoever is interested.
