Our home is in an absolutely beautifully manicured, gated, golf community called Riverwood. Our little piece of heaven is in a neighborhood called Lakeshore Village. The name says it all. How would you like to play golf, go to the beach, go shopping, or visit the many nearby attractions and activities, and then return to a very relaxing and comfortable home. Next, you may enjoy a cool drink on the lanai overlooking a lake with stunning sunsets.
Port Charlotte is a small waterfront community located in the Central Gulf Coast of Florida. It is in a great location, just minutes to Siesta Key Beach and countless cultural events in Sarasota, and 25 minutes to the historic, charming town of Boca Grande. In addition, one can take a day trip to Orlando just two-and-one-half hours away and enjoy Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and many other attractions. If that is too far away, a quick trip to Tampa will take you to Busch Gardens. If you prefer to stay close to home, you will find dozens of ways to enjoy every single day. Beautiful and uncrowded Charlotte County is one of the "best-kept secrets" in the state of Florida.
The master bedroom boasts brand-new furniture, a new king-size bed, and a sliding glass door which leads to the lanai. The guest bedroom is beautifully decorated with two twin beds. There are two full bathrooms adjacent to the two bedrooms. The den has a full-size hide-a-bed and a quaint built-in bookcase with a television. There is a spacious fully-equipped kitchen and dining area. The large living room which overlooks the screen-enclosed lanai and scenic lake also has an entertainment center with a television and VCR/DVD player. All bedding and linens are provided as well. Entry to the two-car garage is beyond the laundry room where there is a full-size washer and dryer.
Our family has been visiting Port Charlotte for the past twelve years and obviously we have fallen in love with the area. You can find pleasure on Riverwood's four-and-one-half star golf course or spend time in the recreation center at the heated pool or working out on the newest exercise equipment. For families with young children, there is a small playground and sandbox behind the pool. There is an activity for everyone, whether you enjoy tennis, lawn bowling, croquet, bocce, or nature watching. If you need to use a computer and do not bring your own, there is one available in the cozy library at the recreation center.
Riverwood also offers a Beach Club on a membership basis. Private parking for 28 vehicles is available. The Beach Club is a 5,500-sq.-ft., cabana-style, wooden structure housing showers, restrooms, commercial ice machine, chilled drinking water fountain, baby-changing facility, office area and storage.
The huge covered deck, complete with towering palm tree feature, has built-in seating, ceiling fans and plenty of space for dancing and entertaining. Charcoal grills are also provided, along with picnic tables. Complimentary access is included to all our rental guests.

This home is very nice with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The house was clean, well kept and had all of the necessary items (linens, towels, appliances, gas grill, etc.) to make you feel at home. The gated community with a pool, tennis courts, golf course and scenic views was a welcome change to our home in Ohio. We were only 15 minutes from our son and his family and restaurants and shopping were just 10 minutes away. The golf course was very challenging and fun to play. The lake behind the homes offered some nice sunsets and variety of birds that came to visit each morning. The transaction to rent was very efficient using e-mail and electronic payment for deposit and rent was effortless. Thanks for offering your home - we had a great visit with the family. "We've had a marvelous 2 months here, enjoying the beaches (I've become a shark's tooth collector), rivers (we've canoed the Myakka several times), and restaurants (the Fishery in Placida, the Gulf View Grill overlooking the Gulf from the 2nd floor at Englewood Beach, Bella Luna at Fishermen's Village, etc.), and 2 sunsets at the beach --- one at Stump Pass Beach, and one from the Gulf View Grill as we ate dinner and drank some wine. Your place was a joy to stay in. I can't tell you the number of mornings we watched various birds on the lake, or walking outside the lanai. I've gotten some really good closeup shots of great egrets, snowy egrets and great blue herons, both from here, and at the "fishing park" down the street on Club Drive."

What a wonderful way to spend your winter months. Bruce and Carmen have a gorgeous home in a spectacular spot. We loved our time in Riverwood. The view couldn't have been more senic. Your place was open and conducive to all desires. You have so much to offer those who wish to enjoy and feel at home in a gated community. We loved it and you will too.

My wife and I absolutely adored our two months here at Riverwood. The home was perfectly laid out for our needs with a wonderfully bright openness. The lanai views were ever-changingly spectacular with the continuous and delightful cooperation of dozens of varieties of wildlife.The golf course is pristinely verdant and the neighbors all very friendly and helpful.
