Family of 4 stayed in One bedroom Select and it was like living in a tree house. The very first day, several white faced Capuchin monkeys came for visit. Incredible. I decided then and there to spend as much time as I could on that deck. The villa was perfect for our family. The beach at Tulemar was one of the best we have been to - perfect for children of all ages and so very warm. The food and drink service was great at the beach The pools just as warm as the ocean. And everywhere, wildlife - iguana, sloth, birds... As for our stay, we had a private chef one night - Chef Kris - amazing. Highly recommend. He was friendly and fun AND made a fabulous meal for us. Vanessa helped us prior to our arrival (surfing lessons, chef, groceries) and was so responsive and helpful. Diego and Bill helped us through our week and we couldn't have asked for two more professional, helpful, kind people. Diego even managed to get us a sitter last minute so we could go out to nice romantic meal one night. There was so much to do but at the same time, a great place to relax. We cannot wait to go back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Stayed 3 nights in Tulemar. Family of 4 greatly enjoyed staying at the One Bedroom Villa. It had a deck and we enjoyed the sunsets and watching all of the wild life. Beach was great and at times we were the only ones on the beach! Having the kitchen facilities together with a separate bedroom made these accommodations work so well for our family. The kids also enjoyed the different pools. Everything was so convenient. Restaurants and a grocery store was right outside of the gates. The kids enjoyed watching the variety of wildlife. Monkeys, sloths, iguanas and more. It was very hard to leave this place. Thank you Cindy for advising us to rent this wonderful property. We will be back.Did you find this review helpful? I had a fantastic trip in Costa Rica, and my stay at Tulemar had everything to do with it. Julien, our concierge, took great care of us and was courteous, helpful, and professional. I would recommend Tulemar to anyone who is looking for a place to call home while traveling through Maneul Antonio. I loved my unit because of the deck and its view of the ocean. I woke up each day at dawn I was there to take in the sunrise and made sure I was there on the deck to enjoy each sunset. The amenities were great! You guys think of everything. I did not feel at all like I was in a hotel. Instead, I felt like I was at home with all the finishing touches of elegance and luxury. The private beach was amazing, too! If I head back to Costa Rica one day, and I will, I am going to stay here at Tulemar. Room Tip: An ocean view is the best!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed for 8 nights over our February vacation with our two children 12 and 9. We stayed in a 1 bedroom bungalow . Our room was spacious and clean and perfectly nice. The view is amazing and the sounds your hear outside seemed piped in. Julien and I believe Christian or Chris helped with all of our plans. They set up our ride from the airport which was long but pleasant. The driver took us to a great place to have lunch right outside of San Jose. He would have stopped for snacks and drinks whenever we wanted. They set up our fantastic white water rafting day, our ATV trip (don't wear anything good - it gets trashed) and surfing lessons. Johnny and two other guys took us to a great spot on the public beach and had my kids and I surfing to the beach. They were patient, excellent teachers. They brought drinks and snacks for us. We loved Tulemar's private beach and enjoyed the complimentary kayaks and all the animals - monkeys, sloths, iguanas - on the beautiful property. The beach bar was nice and the view while eating lunch was fantastic. The family pool is great!. Costa Rica is a gorgeous place with extremely friendly, chill people who don't try to sell you everything in sight. Many good restaurants including Kapi Kapi and Cafe Milagro (great breakfast, lunch and dinner) are a very quick walk from the resort. The supermarket is a 2 minutes walk or they are happy to take you. It is a beautiful resort with a very helpful accommodating staff. I highly recommend it for a wonderful family trip. A perfect combination of relaxation and adventure. We will be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Where can I begin? Every single aspect of my trip, service, room, location, value, staff attention (important to me) cleanliness, I mean everything was Perfection. The Buena Vista One Bedroom Villa I stayed in was amazing. Its design allowed you to experience the beauty that surrounded you. I have stayed in many resorts and have never made to feel "at home" by the staff like at Tulemar. It truly is amazing there and I have been promoting it like crazy :-). Tulemar is an experience stimulating all senses. A MUST!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife, six year old son and I spent the Christmas holidays at Tulemar and we all agree that it was one of the best family vacations we have ever had. Tulemar is one of the few places where the reality lives up to the marketing and the brochure photos. The one bedroom villa we stayed in was exactly what we hoped for and we had some of our best meals at the beach side restaurant. The best part of the stay though was the staff at Tulemar and their top notch service and hospitality. We had the very good fortune of having our stay planned for us by Chris, the concierge, who strived everyday to make our stay an enjoyable one, even taking us to the grocery store on the evening we arrived so that we could stock up our fridge. We would highly recommend Tulemar as a family destination.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family stayed at the Tulemar Resort from January 14th - 21st, 2013 for the first time. My husband and I are seasoned travelers and we've stayed in a variety of locations across the globe on a shoestring, but also to the highest standard. I believe we're both well versed at appreciating value for money. We stayed in the Buena Vista Resorts - in a one bedroom villa with our two kids - ages 4 and 8. The property (Tulemar) is gorgeous, the beach is wonderful and everyone is very friendly. We were delighted spotting six sloths over our stay and seeing lots of monkeys, birds and lizards. The concentration and amount of wildlife surpassed our tour at Manuel Antonio National Park. We didn't appreciate the amount of wildlife until we spoke with other tourists. The villa was spacious and had great views of the jungle, water and felt very private. We had an issue with the air-conditioning, and the unit in our villa leaked overnight onto our four year old's pillow to the point where the pillow was supersaturated with water. The management team was quick to respond fixing the air-conditioner, we were offered a complementary meal at a partner restaurant. Things happen right? The beach restaurant was very nice. It was great to be able to have a drink and watch the kids frolic in the water. The villa is rustic as they said but in a very cute way. We had everything we needed and with an amazing view. The concierge service is one of the best we have experienced. There is nothing they won't do for you. My family agrees that we would absolutely go back to Tulemar - we saw so much wildlife, loved the beach and the pools - and to be honest that was what we were after. You must stay here! Don't look any further.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent two weeks in Costa Rica for our honeymoon and ended our stay in this beautiful country at Tulemar and it was paradise. We met our concierge Julien right when we arrived and he was the best. He gave us a personal tour of the property, the beach, and the surrounding restaurants and such. Julien so helpful with trip and dinner reccomendations and made our honeymoon and stay at Tulemar unforgettable. We stayed in the Buena Vista One Bedroom with amazing views and wildlife right outside our patio. The private beach was amazing and Daniella at the bar makes the best drinks. We enjoyed walking ( the trails are great too) to the beach enjoying the views and seeing the animals and taking advantage of the shuttle back up. We will be back and would like to bring our families next time! Pura VidaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

When we arrived in Tulemar there were cold mango drinks waiting for us. Our concierge person, Chris was there to greet us and show us to our villa. We loved our villa including the fresh flowers that adorned our table. The views from our room were breathtaking and the private beach was an added bonus. There were monkeys everywhere, 4 pools, and restaurants minutes from your villa. Truly an amazing place!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
