We were absolutely delighted with the accommodations! We loved the spaciousness of the total condo area. Nice big bedroom, with a very comfortable bed and lots of room to store all our clothes & luggage. The air conditioner worked: we put it on a couple of hours before we went to bed then turned it off. The fan kept the air moving comfortably. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped and we lacked for nothing in preparing our meals. The eating area and living room was very tastefully decorated and lots of room to spread out. The outdoor deck was perfect for morning coffee or sipping a glass of wine or eating dinner as the sun was setting. Everything was clean & organized. We lacked for nothing. Less than 5 minutes to a very accessible beach. Within comfortable walking distance to all sorts of shops, restaurants, deli, etc. We Loved the bar & grill "Three" and for a special treat "5 Stones". We were pleasantly surprised how quiet the area around the condo was and when inside the condo. We rented a car and easily visited The Road to Hana, Baldwin Beach, snorkleled, kayaked, etc. And sometimes we just stayed close to home. The owner encouraged questions and gave very good and helpful responses. I have already recommended the condo to friends. It truly was "home away from home"

Great Location, Good Value

Hale Kamaole is in the best location in Kihei, in our estimation. A great boogie-boarding beach-Kamaole III- is just across the road, and the condos are quiet and away from commercial activity. There are restaurants and a great deli within close walking distance however, and other beautiful beaches abound nearby, suitable for snorkelling and scuba diving. The condos are very well kept, and the two pools and the BBQs are kept pristine and located in a central and private green space. Our condo was good value, and comfortable for two adults, a teenager and a ten year old. All the expected amenities are provided. As we were a family group of seven staying in two condos, my only wish would have been an additional easy chair or sofa at times; however, that may not have been possible with providing space for the rollaway bed.

We had a great time at your condo in March. Convenient location and well appointed unit. Comfortable beds and nicely decorated. This was our fourth time to Hale Kamaole which is a beautiful and relaxing establishment. Renters need to bring there own beach towels.

Owner response:Hi Rob, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our condo. We really appreciate it as future guests very much go by what previous guests have to say about our place in the sun. We now have beach towels in all of our condos as we changed housekeepers one of the reasons being that the previous housekeepers did not want the extry laundry of beach towels. Thanks again. Ingrid

First holiday in Hawaii

We recently enjoyed our first visit to Maui, staying in south Kihei. The apartment is a good size, having everything necessary for self catering and relaxing in. Although the buildings in the complex are fairly old, everything was in good repair. In the apartment we stayed in, only the bathroom was beginning to show its age. The complex is very well maintained and convenient for the beach and small harbour, with an easy stroll to the nearest restaurant. We liked the location as it is at the quieter, southern end of Kihei.

Wonderful Christmas in Maui!

Ingrid & Gerry. Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our Holidays at Hale Kamaole! Your condo is very clean, well-equipped and quiet. The beds were comfy (two teenage sons slept on roll-outs) and we thoroughly made use of the tennis court, pools and BBQ's. Everyone is very friendly and the grounds well-maintained. Location was great, right across the street to park and beach...everything else is so close in Kihei. Morning walks and jogging to Wailea, snorkeling and body-surfing during the day at one of many gorgeous beaches, then dinner and evening sunsets. This was our first (and hopefully not the last) trip to Maui....very memorable. Our favourite snorkeling spot was Po'olenalena Beach...lots of turtles! We rented a car and made good use of it for grocery runs, shopping or day-trips to the rest of the island (Lahaina, Road to Hana). What can we say...we loved it and definitely recommend Hale Kamaole. Mahalo!!

We stayed at this unit in Oct 2010. The location of the complex is right across from Kamaole 3 beach park, so with cup of coffee in hand you can leave the unit and have your toes in the water in less than 3 minutes. Every time I opened the door I commented about how bright and cheery the unit is, the decorating is clean, bright and Hawaiian. Very quickly you appreciate the supply of beach toys in the storage cupboard...fins, mask, cooler etc very well thought out by the owners. A nice touch were the extra fans, they allowed us to be very comfortable without having to switch on the A/C. Would I stay here again? YES Did I enjoy my vacation? YES Would I recommend this listing to others? YES

We are now back home and I just wanted to take this chance to say how much we enjoyed staying at your condo. It was perfect for us! So clean, SO well supplied, so accessible to everything - especially the beach, and so comfortable. It really was our "home" away from home. Thank you! We will definitely be coming back, only we will stay longer next time! Mahalo,

2 weeks in Kihei

Our family really enjoyed this condo. It was clean, lived up to description and for our first time on Maui was close to everything. Ingrid answered all of our questions well in advance. Tennis court and pools were used almost daily. We went to two of the churches described in the owner's webpage, both great. Recommend Keawala'i Congregational Church for a real Hawaiian service. Recommend "the Dumps" as a snorkeling venue. If you drive to Hana take the time to visit the Seven Sacred Pools and the Venus Pool and the Black Sand Beach. All 3 sites are fantastic. Da Kitchen has real local Hawaiian food if that is your goal. Many locals eat there and portions are generally very generous. Take the time to look at and smell the flowers and plants on this Island, many beautiful surprises. Thank you for a wonderful residence while on vacation in this earthly paradise.

Magical Maui..

Guest: Mauians (Calgary, AB Canada)
Date of Stay: 03/27/10 Review Submitted: 06/08/10

We were in Maui for a wedding the end of March/2010 and stayed in #226 Hale Kamaole. The location was perfect - we enjoyed walking up and down Kam 1,2 and 3 each morning after enjoying coffees out on the lanai. After a fun-filled day beachinig, snorkelling, cruising, shopping, it was so nice to come back to our place and freshen up before planning dinner (either bbquing on the grounds) or going out. We never missed a sunset - we'd pour ourselves a cocktail and walk across to Kam 3. What a magical time of the day this was as people gathered - almost spirutual as the conch's sounded. We'll never forget that. Jerry and Ingrid have a lovely place - all the amenities you would need for a fun-filled 2 weeks on Maui. Thank you once again. We also appreciated all the little "beach extras" stored in the closet off the lanai. We can't wait to return some day! Wayne & Verlea Olson Calgary, AB

Owner response:Thanks for the nice comments Wayne and Verlea, we love staying in our #226 in Hale Kamaole just as much a you did - can't wait to get back to our condo and the beach and the sand and the sunsets and all the wonderful things that make Maui such a magical place to be.. Gerry and Ingrid

We rented this unit from Dec 20, 2009 until Jan 1st, 2010. Myself & my 2 sons (14&23) were in the unit. We were very happy at Hale Kamaole #226! We visited other 1 bedroom units in the complex & think this was the best we saw - renovated, upbeat furniture, big mirrors everywhere, tile instead of carpet. The Lanai furniture was in great shape. The Lanai closet was full of lots of goodies like tennis raquets & balls, coolers, beach mats & chairs, etc. The kitchen had every type of utensil, appliance, and dishes you would need. Place was spotless, bedding & towels galore. Bed VERY comfortable! This is a great unit in this complex! We are really going to miss every evening at sunset when the Hale Kamaole men lineup & blow the conch shells at the setting sun - not sure what the ritual means - but it became and memorable evening event to look forward to! Thanks Ingrid - maybe next year I can book your 2 bedroom & bring my mom :)

Thank you for letting us stay at your condo. We had a wonderful time: your place is very well maintained -truly a beautiful home away from home. It had everything we needed and all the goodies for the beach were useful. We loved the CD for the road to Hana! It made the drive a little easier, and helped us to find some amazing views. The books that you had on Maui were also very helpful in helping us explore the island. The property was very well kept and the BBQ grills were always shiny. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. We will definitely be back!! Thanks again, The Herds

Hi Ingrid: I’ve been meaning to email you from Hawaii but kept forgetting when I was sitting down at my laptop. We got home last night from our wonderful 2 weeks in Hawaii. We had a great time and wanted to thank you for your condo. It worked out great. This was our 3rd time at Hale Kameole and we have thoroughly enjoyed all 3 stays. Your condo was everything you advertised. It is always nice to not have any surprises. It was clean and we enjoyed the “extras” from the closet. It was nice not having to rent boogie boards, mats etc. This was our 10th trip to the islands and we will definitely be back. I may call upon you again as our next trip will probably be for Thanksgiving in 2009. By the way, the $100 security deposit was waiting for me when I got home. Thanks so much for the prompt service!Mahalo,JeffSpokane, WAJuly 2008
