We enjoy our beachfront vacation home and love to see others enjoy it as much as we do.
Our calendar is almost full for our first rental season on VRBO. We are now thinking ahead to 2013. We will start taking reservations for full week rentals for 2013.
Our five bedroom 3.5 bath two story home sits front row on the beach with a direct private walkover from the front porch. You will have ocean views and sounds from the living,dining,master bedroom, and tv room upstairs.
Our home will sleep 11 in beds without sharing a bed, 13
counting the sleeper sofa and Futon,or 15 counting the two
downstairs sofa's. That being said, it is our feeling that more than 12 people inthe house would be rather crowded and uncomfortable in the living/dining spaces indoors. If you plan to
spend your time on the beach and only sleep inside, it might work for a larger group of 12-20.
You will enjoy the two long porches facing the beach with 4 large
rocking chairs and a hammock to relax in.
We include linens for the beds, baths, beach and kitchen. We do ask that used linens be washed and folded before your
departure. If you do not wish to take the time on your departure day to do this, you may bring your own linens from home.
We have a few beach toys,buckets,boards,chairs etc. for your use, along with board games, movies,books,legos,etc. for the children.
We are a smoke free, and pet free home, due to a child with severe allergies.

The house was clean, well stocked, and located on a beautiful spot of beach. The house had plenty of room for all the kids and is perfect for families with kids. Sharon was always available when needed. The only thing I would warn about is bring bottled water- the water out if the faucet was gross. I would recommend this house to a friend. I would warn that it does seem like the beach could get VERY packed with people during peak season as there is access for cars/trucks to drive on the beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We wanted a place right on the beach, and this could not have been a better location! The house's layout was PERFECT for our large family! The owner's were great to work with!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Sharon, thank you so much for another enjoyable and relaxing and awesome stay at your home. My family and friends and I once again basked in your hospitality, enjoyed the beautiful beach, rested on the comfy porch, and enjoyed the numerous amenities. Pencil us in again for next year, same weekend! I am going to try to talk hubby into staying the week next time! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gracewaves ! The home is beautiful, clean and comfortable. We have a large family and sometimes it can be challenging to find a home to accommodate us. Gracewaves was the perfect set up for our family. There are five bedrooms with many beds that can sleep a very large family, or several small families. (Sharon even had the pack and play set up, along with a portable booster seat/ high chair at the dining table, because I told her we had a little one and would need it.) There are plenty of extra towels, linens and beach towels along with sun tan lotion and misquito repellent to use, if needed. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach, along with the beach toys, family friendly movies and toys for the children. The board games were a nice touch and our teenage boys enjoyed several good games of chess with Dad during the evenings. We enjoyed several leisurely days at the beach, which was not crowded at all. We enjoyed going down the beach to Pirate's Alley and eating dinner on the deck overlooking the water. The fish basket was delicious ! Sharon was very helpful and prompt in answering any questions we had about places to eat and things to do. Everything went very smoothly with our stay from start to finish. We had a very peaceful, relaxing vacation at Gracewaves and would highly recommend it to other families with children, or anyone looking for a peaceful , comfortable, place to stay at Surfside. We made some wonderful memories and hope to return again to Gracewaves next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We were a family of 14. 6 adults and 8 children. We loved it! The kids enjoyed themselves so much they didn't want to go home and were asking when their next stay would be at Gracewaves. The house was fully equipped with everything; from cooking utensils to toys for the kids. We really enjoyed ourselves at Gracewaves and greatly appreciate Sharon and her family opening her beautiful home to our family. Thank you so much for the great communication and allowing us to spend an awesome vacation there. We are definitely going to plan another stay at Gracewaves. It was perfect for our family!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a fantastic time at Gracewaves. The house is set up for pure enjoyment and beach fun!!!! The fact that we did not have to really bring any towels or sheets with us was absolutely awesome. The stay was so much fun. The kitchen was set up very nicely and we were able to cook and pretty much have all the comforts of home without going to the store amillion times. thank you so much and we hope to stay there again next summer- the easy beach access and location was more than we could have asked for - it was wonderful!!! The bikes and beach toys were great also.......Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Gracewaves provided a terrific place for our two families to enjoy Surfside Beach. Though it rained daily and was overcast much of the time, the five kids (ages 2-15) had a great time partially thanks to a large stash of beach toys and brand new boogie boards. The adults loved the separate (PRIVATE) bedrooms, abundance of towels (beach and otherwise), washer and dryer, well-stocked kitchen, and overall good condition of the home and amenities. We all appreciated the family-friendly/inspirational selection of books and movies provided. The view from the main level as well as upstairs was superb. Having our own boardwalk was quite convenient, esp. with the two water hoses provided for washing off. With a total of 9 people, we had plenty of space and could've added another small family comfortably. Sharon is a joy to work with; she is a great communicator, answering questions quickly and thoroughly, as well as giving good suggestions/tips. We would highly suggest using the city hall filtered water (bring your jugs) - it was great and available 24/7. Also, make sure there is vinegar and baking soda in the pantry for jellyfish stings (it came in very handy right off the bat) - make a thin paste. Come prepared for a great stay! Each year we invite our 4 adult children, spouses, and our grandchildren for a vacation. In all there are 19 of us. We have stayed in Surfside for the past 5 years. This was our first time at Gracewaves and it was unanimously voted the nicest house we have used. It was amazingly appointed, with lovely beach towels, bath towels, kitchen mitts and towels. There were 5 bicycles the kids enjoyed, and even beach toys. Knowing this, next year there is a lot less we would have to bring along. The kids range in age from 21 down to 10, and all had a great time. Not all the people were there consistently, but we usually managed a crowd of 15. There is a ramp to the beach, allowing bike and wheelchair access. The owner was readily available to us both before and during our stay. The house was clean and well maintained. We sat on the two porches or just tumbled onto the beach, swam, used the hose and spray on the boardwalk to wash off all day long. We rented a golf cart from a nearby location and drove it into town, to the crab pier, on the beach. It was a great vacation!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have just returned home from one of the most perfect vacations I could ever have. Seven friends and I spent the past 6 days at Gracewaves Family Beachfront Property. We teach school in Oklahoma and each year we contact the owners of this beach house and reserve time to unwind from the previous years work. This property supercedes our expectations and meets our needs perfectly. Whether you are walking the beach looking for shells or just relaxing in the hammock on the deck, I am sure you will be happy with this property. It is always clean and well-maintained. It is located near Galveston, which is an enjoyable drive from Gracewaves. The owners are very careful to see that your needs are met while staying there. I would recomend this property to ANYONE!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My Family and I had a wonderful time at this lovely decorated and well maintained beach house. We had all of the ammenities needed to make our meals and there was plenty for the kids to enjoy. Sitting outside on the rocking chairs and hammock enjoying the beach front view was the Best part. There was plenty of room for everyone and then some! We could not have chosen a better home to spend our vacation in! Thank You Sharon for your promptness in responding whenever we had a question and for allowing us to spend a little extra time at the Beach House. Grace Waves is the perfect getaway home for a small or large family getaway!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Homeowners are Bob and Sharon Wyrick, married 36 years, blessed with 17 children, bio and adopted, ages 6-35, and 12 Grandchildren. Homeschooling our 5 youngest children. Home town in SE Oklahoma, but recently purchased a home on the West end of Galveston.
Why the Owner Chose Surfside Beach:
We loved our summer vacations at various Gulf coast beaches for over 30 years. We discovered Surfside one summer and found that it was best beach village we had ever visited! It was a great match for our family,
with it's uncrowded beaches for the children to roam and it's location away from the
major tourist areas in Galveston. Yet just a 40 mile drive away from all the actvities of
Galveston or 15 to Lake Jackson for when we wanted to go into 'town'.
We were able to purchase our first beach
home in 2006 and named it 'Gracewaves'after the song that it reminded
us of....'.Waves of Mercy, Waves of Grace,
everywhere I look I see His face.'

We have miles of quiet beaches to walk, ride bikes,and play on.
Surfside is just a short 15 min. drive from shopping movies and restaurants.

A very laid back beach and lifestyle here.
