This unique beach property on Florida’s Forgotten Coast was designed by an architect to be his private residence. All three levels have wraparound porches with unobstructed views of the gulf and beautiful barrier islands. This home features three master suites w/ private baths and a fourth bedroom sharing a bath with a third floor Crow's Nest. The Crow’s Nest can be used as a fifth bedroom or observatory and offers spectacular views. Sand Castle is located directly across from the popular Carrabelle beach and a short walk down the beach from the Crooked River Lighthouse Park. You can watch the dolphins play, enjoy long walks along the white sand beach and climb a working lighthouse.
Early risers can catch magnificent sunrises while enjoying coffee on the porch. Later, dazzling sunsets can be viewed while sipping a cool iced tea or your favorite cocktail from the porches or gazebo.

Although we're known for our tranquility, Carrabelle, with its deep water harbor, is less than a mile away. The fishing is great and you can enjoy local restaurants and seafood houses offering some of the finest oysters and seafood in the country. It is a 20 minute drive to historic Apalachicola for shopping and fine dining or to the St George Island beaches. Golf is featured at the St James Bay Golf Resort. Kayaking is also popular and it is not uncommon to see manatee during your paddle. The area is world famous for its birding and migrating butterflies and there are four lighthouses waiting to be climbed.
Plan your next family get together, corporate retreat, large group gathering or wedding with us.

We came down for a week with a group of seven and had a great time. The house was spacious yet cozy and quite clean. By the end of the week, I felt right at home. Wish we could have spent more time just hanging out on the deck but we were fishing most days. Kitchen (and grill) was fairly equipped to cook up our days catch. The three women in the group loved lounging around while we were out making up fish stories. Only 2 minute walk to the water where we say many dolphin. Marina where our boat was only 5 minute drive. Outstanding fishing as well as food. Can't wait to get back in September!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My husband and I fell in love with Carrabelle after visiting in April. We wanted one last "summer" weekend at the beach so we decided (very last minute) to see if we could put a trip together. The owner was incredibly gracious and hospitable. Although we rented only a single suite, we were treated to a full tour of the house. It is even more impressive in person and the views from the porches are incredible! The Kcup coffee maker in the lobby was a great touch! She even had one of the flavors we use at home. :) We enjoyed visiting with her and she answered all of our questions about the area and gave us tips on where to go in our kayaks we brought. Thanks to her advice, we were able to make a paddle trip on the Carrabelle River around most of Timber Island on our first evening. The only reason we didn't make the full trip is because we were losing daylight quickly and I was a little nervous! We did see several manatee and a dohin and the colors in the sky at sunset were stunning! The next morning, we packed a cooler with some essentials and used the public beach access across the street as our launch point for our paddle trip to Dog Island which sits a little more than 3 miles across St. George Sound. The water was very calm that morning and we were thrilled ro see dolphins surfacing so close to the shoreline. The trip over took around an hour and was a great workout. The payoff was getting to have lunch on the small strip of beach with the Gulf of Mexico in front of us and the Sound behind us only a few steps apart. After lunch, we took a few photos, strolled the beach for a bit and collected shells larger than our hands. Reluctantly, we loaded everything back into the kayaks and began our trip back to Carrabelle. After a quick shower, we headed over to Fathom's for a dinner of oysters and crab legs. My husband says they were THE best oysters he has eve had. I'm not an oyster fan, so I'll take his word for it, but the crab legs were great! On our last morning, we rose early to make sure we caught the sunrise. Sunrises on Carrabelle are some of the most spectacular I have ever seen! If you are looking for a bright, beautiful, clean house that you can make yourself at home in, with owners who are genuinely interested in helping you make the most of your stay in a location that gives you easy access to all Carrabelle has to offer, then this should be your choice! We will definitely be returning - there is a lot more we want to see!Owner response: Thanks! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and are always happy to share our local knowledge. We hope to see you again soon.

We had 9 adults and 3 children in our group and there was more than enough room for everyone. It was a beautiful house and we had such a wonderful family get together. The kitchen was fully stocked with more than we could use. This house had every amenity of home. The landlords are the nicest and sweetest people we have ever met. It is located in a very private and quiet location. The views from the crows nest were spectacular. We went to St. George Island to the beach and had a blast. Whether a small group or large you could never go wrong reserving the Sand Castle for your next vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
