Escape to the Sunshine! The historic mountain town of Pagosa Springs is Colorado’s best kept secret. With an average of 320 days of sunshine, and a ski resort that consistently has the most snow in the state, Pagosa Springs is a recreational dream come true. The San Juan Mountains, the San Juan National Forest, the San Juan River, the Pagosa Hot Springs, Wolf Creek Ski Area, both the Weminuche and South San Juan Wildernesses, and Navajo Lake are all in close proximity, making this home the perfect base for all of your adventures, whatever time of year.
This home was remodeled during the winter of 2010/2011. Every effort was made to use sustainable and environmentally responsible resources. This conveniently located downtown home has two bedrooms, one and a half baths and sleeps four.
As you walk through the front door you will immediately be struck by the open, clean, quality feel of the house. There is bamboo flooring throughout. The living room has comfortable leather furniture, a wood stove, and a flat screen television with a dvd player. At the far side of the room you will find a full kitchen stocked with all of dishes, cookware, glassware, stemware, spices, oils and everything else you'll need should you choose to dine in. There is an insta-hot water spigot, so you don’t have to wait a second for a cup of tea or cocoa. The dining room table is set and just waiting for great food, friends and conversation. The lighting in each room is controlled by a programmable dimmer and you can easily change the scene to fit your needs.
Out the sliding doors in the dining room you will find a covered porch with a gas grill and rocking chairs. It is a wonderful place to relax and listen to the rustling leaves of the Quaking Aspens that surround the house. The hot tub is located in the nicely landscaped courtyard just off of the deck. There are chives, tarragon, mint and possibly other herbs growing amongst the flowers and you’re welcome to help yourself to them.
Down the hallway from the living area you will find a full bathroom with a tub/shower and heated travertine floor tiles. Across the hallway is the ample laundry room with a full sized front loading washer and dryer. There is plenty of room in here for your ski or snowboard gear and there are boot dryers to get everything warmed up for the next day. There is also a gate around the wood stove that makes an excellent drying rack. This house is outfitted with a central vacuum unit and that and all of the accessories for it are in the laundry room closet.
At the end of the hallway are the two bedrooms, both with queen size beds invitingly made up with quality linens, soft blankets and down comforters. The master bedroom has custom cedar lined closets and boasts a private half bath with heated travertine floor tiles.
The sidewalk to the front door is heated. We do provide snow removal but this helps to insure a dry, ice free, safe path from the parking area to the front door.

This was our second Christmas in Pagosa Springs. Staying on this property was a considerable uprgade from last year. The home is charming and clean. I definitely appreciated the extra efforts they made in making us feel like we were being pampered. The bedrooms have plenty of storage space for clothes and the built-in closets plenty of additional hanging space for each of us to have our own personal mini closet. It was nice to have everything put away and the room was always clean. The heated floors in the bathrooms were also a very a nice touch. Even clean up was a breeze - loved the central vacuum and the wall-kicks to suck up dirt when we swept up. The large mudroom made it easy for us to keep from tracking in unwanted mud and snow. Thanks also for the boot warmers - they were well-used! The mountain views each morning were spectacular. The location was perfect! We were so close to everything we wanted to do. If we make it back to Pagosa again next year, we would want to stay here again. Thanks for everything! The Powells McKinney, TX I'm a big cook, so I spent plenty of time in the kitchen. Ohea has really provided everything you could possibly need - from a completely stocked spice cabinet, down to foil and ziplock bags. Plenty of wine glasses, dishes, cooking utensils and lots of pots and pans.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The world class hot tub, the top of the line kitchen and laundry room built-ins, the fully-stocked kitchen, the total artsy-crafty owner design of the interior and exterior-got to see it to believe the detail that went into it, the responsiveness and hospitality of the owners (Ohea and Steve)----we can't choose between what we liked best. It all resulted in this being a great base camp for all our activities. This is a cute, clean, wonderfully one-of-a-kind remodeled two bedroom home a block and half north of U.S. Highway 160 - convenient to west side and downtown. It would comfortably put up 2-4 people and if you rent the studio apartment out back (shared hot tub), even a few more. Highly satisfied, highly recommend. The owners are gems themselves, in town and easy to get hold of in case of any questions or concerns.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This is truly a home away from home. It's clean, beautiful, and Ohea has thought of everything. We hosted family and friends, and had everything we needed. Ohea - Thank you for having such a great rental. We loved staying in the house and cabin. THank you for being so accommodating with our travel plans. We couldn't have asked for a better place to hang out while in Pagosa Springs. You had such great tips for the area. Our most memorable moment was at the top of Pagosa Peak! We didn't know Pagosa before, but we enjoyed our stay very much. The property is gorgeous, very clean, has everything needed and you can walk to go in town or to the river (5min). The owner took time to show the house and let us know what to do in town. It was a perfect vacation. This was our 2nd trip to Pagosa Springs in the past 3 weeks. Our first rental was in your studio apartment....... we wondered if we would enjoy this rental as much.......and we did. Thank you for making our stay in your home as comfortable as being in ours. The home was everything one views in the photo gallery and much more. Great place to stay! We enjoyed everything about this house and property. The beds were comfy and the living/dining areas were perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the slopes at Wolf Creek. The heated tiles were amazing and the hot tub was a welcome sight by the end of the day. The mud room was an added convenience. No detail was forgotten in this house. We highly recommend staying here.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

We recently stayed in this rental for a quick trip to Pagosa Springs (Wolf Creek) to ski. The house is wonderful, the fireplace is awesome and everything that you need is there. I would high recommend choosing this as a place to stay. Many thanks to Ohea and Steve for renting this place. Two couples were in our party, and we loved staying at this downtown location in Pagosa. The home was accurately described and photographed, clean and very neat. We enjoyed the extra large mud room, the unique lighting features, the wood burning fire place, and the hot tub. The home was in easy walking distance to the downtown area and the natural hot springs. I would most definitely recommend this rental property to friends and family. Have visited Pagosa several times, and find that we enjoy staying in the downtown area. Hopefully we will get to return to Pagosa Springs again and again. We will definitely rent again. WOW I've been skiing at Wolf for 15 years now and I've stayed in some very nice condos, but this home is hands down the best. The pictures truly don't do it justice. When we arrived the owner welcomed us at the house and made us feel like family, she gave us a tour and demonstrated how everything worked. The obvious features are great the hot tub, the boot drier, the heated tile floors (incredible). But it’s all the other things that don't come through in the description or the pictures that really make this place pop. The incredible lighting system, the beautiful furnishings, the modern appliances, the entertainment system, everything you need is right on site and the place is ABSOLUTELY spotless. All this at an incredibly reasonable price. Of course it’s not perfect; after all I had to buy my own lift ticket!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We are local Pagosa Springs folks and are thankful to work, play and live here. Steve has been an electrical contractor for the past 14 years and during that time I have run the office. We now manage these rentals together as well. Our two young children, old black dog and cantankerous cat round out our happy home. We live just a mile away from the rentals and are always available to answer questions and handle any situations that may arise.

We lived in this house for over a decade and were continually working to improve it. Countless projects later, it has become a peaceful, comfortable, uncomplicated space and many people report feeling a sense of home upon entering.
