Cheerful, Nicely Appointed Garden Suite in Quiet Central Location

Located almost exactly in the geographical centre of Vancouver. One bedroom with queen bed and full bath. Tasteful furnishings. The suite is newly renovated owing to a flood. All of the flooring is new with wood flooring. There is a gas fireplace in the living room with a modern entertainment unit consisting of a flat screen TV with High Definition cable subscription. Other amenities include unlimited local telephone access, stereo and DVD player. The owners live upstairs and they are dedicated gardeners. Guests will have access to the backyard gardens, patio and barbeque. Due to the fact that there is only one bed in the suite, we feel that it is really best suited for two people.
We are ideally located half a block west of BC Women and Children's Hospital. Our proximity to Oak Street means that we are one bus ride to downtown. Oak Street is also the access point to the southern ferry terminal as well as the US border. We are a short walk to local services.
The neighbourhood we are located in is called Shaughnessy, home to some of the most historical mansions in Vancouver. Here is a description of the area:

One thing that we would like to share with potential guests is that the suite is located in our home. We have two young boys aged 2 and 4. The suite is located below our living and dining room. Our boys wake up at 6:30 in the morning and we are out of the house by 7:45. We return home at 5 in the evening and they go to sleep at 7:30. During the times when they are out of the house, you can expect the suite to be dead quiet. When our boys are home, there will be noise during meal times. If you demand absolute peace and quiet, this is probably not the best choice for you. However, if you are tolerant of some noise, you will find that this is a great venue to base yourself out of while in Vancouver.

This rental was perfect for our purpose. We stayed here 10 days while on vacation. very centrally located near the Womens/Childrens hospital. Close to Vancouver transit, it was very easy to get around. Beautiful neighbourhood. The description was very accurate, lovely backyard and garden. The rooms were very clean and everything needed was provided. The home and suite were well maintained. The owners replied to inquiries very quickly. The deposit was returned quickly. This rental is very suitable for a couple or a single person visiting Vancouver. There was lots of information in the suite about things to do in and around Vancouver as well as transit schedules and maps of the area. The owners were very nice people and had lots of suggestions about things to do in and around the area. I would recommend this rental to friends, relatives or anyone needing a quiet place to stay while in Vancouver on vacation or business. There were some nice parks near by and just walking through the neighbourhood and looking at the gardens was a treat. I would definitely stay here again. This apartment was in a convenient location. The number 17 bus took us to Downtown Vancouver where we were able to walk to Canada Center, Chinatown and Gastown. We were able to get a transfer and travelled to Lynn Canyon, Grouse Mountain, Stanley Park and more. Public transportation was very clean and we made quick and easy transfers (we never take public transportation at home and we were very impressed with Vancouver's system). The apartment was very clean, attractive and had everything we could possibly need. There is a large supermarket a few blocks away that we shopped in. The bus stop was one short block away. The Queen Elizabeth Park was about a fifteen minute walk. It has lovely gardens and is free. There is a restaurant high on the hill that over looks the garden and the VanCouver skyline. We had a lovely dinner there and it is very reasonable. Pam and Colin are a very nice couple. Warm and friendly and more than willing to help with any questions we had. We feel fortunate to have found this rental.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We found the owners to be very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is very quiet and well kept. The bus and sky train were close by and Vancouver's transit system is outstanding. The apartment is very clean and fresh with all the normal amenties, flat screen, wireless, full kitchen, fire place. Very comfortable.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.
