This magnificent, five bedroom Italian renaissance residence is a work of art. European builder Luciano Vicente created a masterpiece of imported marble, limestone, 200 year-old doors, ironwork, tile and plaster, based on plans by Sea Island architect Ed Cheshire. Vicente and his nine-man team brought their artistic sensibilities to Sea Island using centuries-old techniques to replicate the craftsmanship of the great cathederals he restores for the Vatican. The great room's ceiling is based on a church in Sintra, Portugal is composed of two-hundred ornate, individually cast plaster squares set into a plaster grid embellished with rosettes with back-lit illumination. The domed foyer ceiling was inspired by the Japanese embassy in Lisbon.
In March 2011, Barron’s named Sea Island #1 on their list of “Best Places for a Second Home,” over destinations like The Hampton's, Lake Tahoe, Maui and Aspen. While its beauty and range of lifestyles and luxury, as well as its status as a “power alley” of influential residents, were noted, Sea Island was rated highest for its value. Outside magazine’s Adventure Advisor chose St. Simons Island as a “Best Fall Beach Escape” in November 2012, because our sandy beaches are largely employ in the off season while temperatures are sill in the 70s, and fishing, surfing, and road biking are all possible. National Geographic Traveller included the Georgia Sea Islands, as its “99 Top Rated Places” in 2010. Speaking of golf, this is the perfect base for attending the PGA’s McGladrey Classic golf tournament held at Sea Island's fabled Seaside golf course.
You are just a few blocks from the Sea Island beach. You are also close to many daytime activities including sightseeing on historic Jekyll Island and adjacent St. Simons Island.
Sleeping accommodations include a luxurious master suite with private patio, pool and marble bathroom. At the top the grand staircase above the marble foyer are two very large and very elegant private suites, one with a king bed and the other with two queens, The other two spacious bedrooms are located in the West Wing, one has a king bed and the other has two twin beds.

Wow! Our entire extended family enjoyed this magnificent home during the last week in July. Just a golf cart ride away from a nearly private beach and a beautiful pool in the gorgeous backyard. So many porches and sitting areas inside and out we were able to relax alone or visit together. The furnishings and design of the house were more than we expected. Everything was perfect for entertaining our large group from cocktails to dinner then back to breakfast again. Go and enjoy!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had such an amazing stay in May! This house is truly a masterpiece and was definitely worth renting. The house is beautiful, spacious and furnished with everything we could possibly need or want. Everyone in my family had a great time and this house was central to it all! We spent hours just walking the house and admiring the artistic design. We enjoyed family dinners and relaxing in the private backyard around the pool and hot tub, and each bedroom has a private attached bath. This was our first visit to Sea Island and we enjoyed numerous activities which Sea Island has to offer. This house and location will be a source of many memories for years to come. We look forward to returning to this house in the future. Thank you!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
