Bankers Hill (Park West) house description
This beautiful historically designated home was built in 1909 for Edward Stuart who was the Santa Fe stationmaster. The home has been restored and has all the amenities for your stay.
The convenience of the central location is one of the most mentioned advantages of this property. It is within walking distance of Balboa Park(4 blocks) and all the fine museums(15), IMAX Theater, the Old Globe Theater and the San Diego Zoo. Also within walking distance are many restaurants, coffee shops, Little Italy and San Diego Bay. The airport, Seaport Village, the Gaslamp District, SeaWorld, beaches and shopping in Fashion Valley are just minutes away. Additionally, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Ralphs Supermarket and many speciality food and wine shops are within 1 mile.
This home is a great base for experiencing all that San Diego has to offer. The front porch is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine. The spacious living room has a gas fireplace and is full of period furniture and antiques. The kitchen is fully stocked and has all appliances you would expect. The sunroom, off the kitchen, is another place for that cup of coffee, or a quiet reading nook. The home features a formal dining room appointed with period antiques. The rear patio has a gas BBQ, a table for 6 and a fountain.
The master bedroom has a queen bed and the adjacent sunporch has a full bath and a washer and dryer. The extra large front bedroom can sleep 4 with a queen and a double bed. The large main upstairs bath is beautifully tiled and appointed with 2 pedestal sinks and has a glass enclosed shower with a separate bathtub.
This is a luxurious private home occupied by the owners in the summer and is available for longer term winter visitors in monthly intervals from November through May. It is furnished with many period antiques and fine art and thus is not suitable for children.

San Diego Getaway
The pictures don't reflect the cozy, warm feeling in this wonderful home. We loved being surrounded by antiques and wonderful collectibles. Everything is as represented EXCEPT the great proximity to Balboa Park and Little Italy should be EMPHASIZED. We left our car parked at the house most days. Walked up the hill for coffee and then on to some event at the park. Came home for a rest and then walked down the hill to Little Italy for shopping, happy hour, and a delicious meal in one of many restaurants. It's very clean and well maintained, the owners are very helpful, and we would (and have) recommend this home to friends and relatives.

About the owner: My wife and I are retired and spend our winters in Tucson where we have much family, including 3 wonderful grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 12. Turns out my younger son and my wife's older daughter are married to each other........so it makes holiday get togethers a snap! We'll tell you more when we meet. We enjoy the climate in San Diego so much and love the proximity of many activities. We hope you can share our enjoyment of America's Finest City.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy walking to Little Italy for dinner and going to YogurtLand after. Balboa Park has so many attractions, but we have trouble getting out of the Museum of Art it has so much to enjoy. When we feel adventurous we walk downtown (1mile) for dinner and a movie. We also enjoy taking the ferry over to Coronado to have coffee and walk on the beach. So much to do!
