Dirty and dark, cockroaches and mold!!
Dirty and dark, cockroaches and mold!!
Gwen is a very sweet manager and really was kind when things didn't go well. However, this really is a terrible place to stay. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, six nights the other week. The A/C broke on the second night and we had 85 degree nights every night. The only window to the room is broken and unable to open or close, causing a musty smell and lack of ventilation. There are many mold spots along to ceiling and peeling paint, grungy tile, spider webs. The appliances are in very poor shape and covered in rust. Cockroaches were plentiful. We loved Gwen and Bermuda, but there were just too many problems for this apartment. We received the address for the location 3 days before arriving. The location is actually great and accurate to the description - very close to Horseshoe Bay beach. To know what to expect, I would compare this to a very dirty college dorm. Definitely not recommended for a romantic getaway, but could be useful for someone backpacking Bermuda and interested in a cheap place. The bugs are the deterrent that would keep us from recommending to anyone we know.

Manager response: We are glad you enjoyed Bermuda, Samuel! It's unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay at our unit and have such sentiments especially voicing them now yet not during your stay. I cannot imagine someone living in such conditions as you've stated and not mentioning such at all during their entire 6-night stay. Having high expectations for a honeymoon is a given. Trying to bargain an already lower priced unit prior to booking and then selecting it after your bargaining was denied and knowing its full description prior to booking for such a very special occasion will naturally present disappointment as it has for you and deflate your already 'more for less' expectations built around your special occasion to surprise your new wife. You presented one complaint to the property manager during your entire 6-night stay - the A/C malfunction, which was addressed expeditiously. Yet, you have saved your 'new complaints' for weeks after you vacated the unit; hence, preventing any immediate addressing of any of these 'new complaints' during your 6-night stay. As you know, we encourage in our contract and upon checkin that if anything is found to be an issue or not as described for our guests to advise the property manager immediately so it may be addressed immediately and won't hinder their stay with us. Failing to do such can only indicate that the condition of the unit was satisfactory for you to live in during your entire 6-night stay despite your 'new complaints' expressed here which are unfounded. Our unit accurately reflects the description provided on vrbo.com and also suggests accurate target audiences. A honeymoon expectation of more for less is not one of them. We hope you choose Bermuda for a future visit as our island is a perfect fit for new and golden honeymooners!
This property was exactly as described and offered value for money invested. The location was ideal in that it was on a major bus route, minutes walk to an outstanding beach with excellent customer service, and I could walk safely in a friendly neighborhood, without fear as a female alone. All one had to do was purchase a bus pass to explore the island using the reliable pink bus service and ferries that could take you from the Dockyard to St. David's and St. George's (one end of the island to the other). I would recommend getting out and exploring the island, meeting the people, and attending whatever activities you think you might enjoy because there wasn't anything I did not enjoy. Watch the Gombey Dancers, take a ferry to the Dockyard, visit the Bermuda Glass Works and Rum Cake Factory, attend Harbour Nights, enjoy a cricket game, shop in the city of Hamilton and in St. George's, enjoy a game of golf, walk the old railway trail, tour the perfume factory in St. George's, enjoy a traditional cod fish breakfast on Sunday morning at one of many restaurants and the list goes on and on. For people who enjoy water activities, there is parasailing, jet skiing, and a wild water ride around the island offered in the Dockyard area of the island. Snorkel at Church Bay or Tobacco Cove or arrange to scuba dive. There are helpful brochures, a copy of "This Week in Bermuda," and maps of Hamilton, St. George's, and Bermuda in the unit to assist your vacation plan. There is a reliable WiFi connection available at the unit that facilitates finding needed information as well. If you want to rent a scooter and get around on your own, one can be delivered right to your door. Gwen the owner was helpful and friendly. I have already expressed my satisfaction with this stay to my relatives and friends and am likely to book this unit for a future stay.

SO MUCH FUN!
SO MUCH FUN!
My wife and I spent a week on the property and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Gwen and Tamika are AMAZING hosts who will happily point you in the right direction for what to do and where to go. The property is very close to Horseshoe Bay, and pictures can not do this beach (or Bermuda in general) any justice. The locals are extremely friendly and, if you are looking, you can make several friends in a night. I would recommend Tio Pepe's or Island Cuisine for delicious local food, and if you want a drink, hit up Henry the VIII's for something formal, or simply the local Rangers Club down the hill for cheap drinks and outdoor sports entertainment. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE MEMORIES!

I would have to say that this studio is perfect for a single or a couple. Pictures are accurate and location can't be better. You are about 45 minutes from the International Airport but extremely close to the some popular beaches. Fairmont Resort is a few blocks away (5 minutes driving) and they have a "Salsa Night" on Thursdays for those salsa lovers. Price is excellent and very competitive. Owner Tamika and her family were really nice and helpful to me at all the times. If you like adventures just pack a backpack, rent this studio, rent a scooter close to the airport and drive. I encourage you to be part of the Bermudians and learn their lifestyle. Bermudians are great people, very warm, helpful, and happy people. This studio is located in a very safe area. Best place to eat a typical dish from Bermuda is the Island Coffee. Best beach to get beautiful sea glasses is in St George. You must go to St. George, Crystal Caves, Hamilton (don't miss the Goombey dance), Dockyard, lighthouse, Horseshoe Bay, Jone's Beach and Blue Hole.
