Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
Proprietor Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980’s. Soon after he was awestruck by the experience of kayaking the Ocoee River. Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as the Toccoa House Properties. During the 1990’s Greg built a small cabin, The Riverside Cabin, on the Toccoa River, and envisioned a larger house that he later built on the ridge above: The Toccoa House, completed in 2000. Next came The Carriage House in 2002, and the in-ground, seasonally heated swimming pool in 2007. Our newest addition, The Grey Heron House, was completed in late 2007. We also love downtown Blue Ridge with its quaint shops, great restaurants, galleries, and The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. In 2006, we purchased the oldest building in Blue Ridge and commenced a total renovation, keeping the historic character and adding modern features. Dana Spencer is a native of North Georgia and brings Southern Charm to each Guest Experience, handling the Reservation Process, Housekeeping and Custom Arrangements.

My husband and I often visit Blue Ridge for the day. But this particular weekend we decided we wanted to spend the night. This was at Apple Festival time and we could not find acommodations. However I decided to look on vrbo just before we left out. A GREAT find just listed. The owners had not yet finished everything in the condo, but they let us stay....first visitors. It was exactly what we needed and pet friendly. We had a great time in Blue Ridge. The condo is lovely and the owners extremely nice to work with. Belated thanks for a lovely weekend.
Recommended for:Pet owners, tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I have used VRBO for several years now and have always rented mountain properties. After a week vacation in the north Ga. mountains we decided to extend our trip and needed a last minute place to stay. I stumbled across this adorable place on vrbo and the owners were very accomodating. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed being downtown. Blue Ridge is a beautiful and friendly town. We also took Dana's advice to have a meal at L&L Beanery cafe. We had lunch and loved it so much returned the next day for breakfast. .... Thanks Dana ! It was great! This apt. was spacious,clean, modern and conveniently fun. We walked everywhere. We would definitely stay here again, although at least 1 queen bed would be wonderful. Thank you for helping us extend our beautiful mountain vacation. Jim & Charlene
