  This was a great unit that me and a friend used for our stay in Hawai'i. The kitchen is very modern and has all the essentials to make a few meals instead of eating out. The distance to the beach is almost nothing, making it a great place for frequent beach visits. Once you reach the beach, you are within walking distance of everything you'll need. The parking pass makes it very convenient for those who want to travel the island and not worry about finding a place to park or pay the daily fees. The amenities provided in the unit helped us from having to spend extra money or bring extra weight in our luggage. In addition, the owner was in constant contact via email about our reservation and any changes taking place to the unit. The unit was as described and very well maintained. I would recommend the Italian restaurant at the Mariott, leonard's bakery, and island vintage coffee. All are within walking distance or a short drive away I would recommend this unit and plan to reserve it in the future should I return to Oahu.

  The apartment is fantastic and the location even moreso. We were located literally 3 minutes away from the Waikiki strip and beach. THe apartment itself is beautiful, completely redone and a joy to be in. Seriously, even the bed (king-size) is top-notch; my wife and I commented on how great our sleeps were once we had arrived. The building has a great and well-maintained pool as well if you have babies/toddlers that are perhaps too young for the beach (as we did). Kitchen is wonderful, appliances fantastic. We could tell the owner really cared about this place both from our interactions with him and the condition of the condo when we arrived. The owner commented to us that it is his "home away from home" - we feel the same way about it. I don't know if I can gush *enough* about it.

  We have stayed at the Banyan many times. This unit was our favorite by far. The condo is very comfortable and has everything you need to make your stay a memorable one. The owners were a pleasure to deal with, and we look forward to spending another vacation in the Waikiki Hut.

  One of the best units in the Waikiki Banyan. The location is perfect, updated beautiful unit, and the view from the lanai is amazing. I have never rented through vrbo and was a little hesitant, because of all the scams that we came across through craigslist. This is not a scam and the owners are very prompt with getting back with you. They even checked up on us during our stay and after to make sure everything was acceptable and that we enjoyed our vacation.You will also save hundreds of dollars by eating in. We will definitely be staying here again and will recommend this unit to all of our friends an family. You will not be disappointed.

  Despite being world travelers, this was our first experience renting a condo for a vacation, and we can't wait to come back to this one. The condo and its view are even better than the photos on the web depict. This was my second trip to Honolulu (first being in 1979!) and my husband's first. We loved it. The condo is bright, clean, modern, very well located. The free parking was a plus. The bed was so comfortable, and even preparing breakfast in the well-appointed kitchen was a religious experience (well, almost). Alvin, the owner, was wonderful; very helpful and caring to ensure our stay was a success. Not only do we want to return at our first opportunity, we have been recommending it to some very picky friends and business colleagues.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

  Just returned from a fantastic vacation in Waikiki. Staying in Carol & Alvin's condo was staying in luxury. We have stayed at the Waikiki Banyan many times before and this unit is the best we have stayed in. The unit was clean and beautiful. We had a fantastic view! Alvin is very professional and excellent to deal with. We hope to stay here on our next trip back to Waikiki. Evon & Don

  Prior reviews were right on. Nicely updated, safe, secure condo with all the amenities. Located on the 37th floor with 4 elevators providing transport to and from. Secured parking is provided, free. Only one floor above you, this condo also sports a lanai overlooking the ocean and other buildings. Great view from the bedroom. 2 minute drive to the zoo/aquarium, 5-7 to Diamond Head, and block and half to the less crowded part of Waikiki Beach. Twenty five minute drive to the airport. We'd highly(no pun intended) recommend this condo to others ( not a condo for people with fear of heights or little ones). The owner contacted us to make sure all was right with the condo, nice touch. A small but nice feature is the door has a digital lock, so you don,t have to worry about losing a key to get in.Thanks for letting us rent the condo on such short notice Alvin.

  We went to Waikiki for an August wedding and decided we'd stay 2 weeks, with the wedding in the middle. We've visited Hawaii many times in the past and found Honolulu accommodation to be very expensive, with all the added ammenities (wifi, parking, phone calls, etc.), adding to that expense each day. Well we couldn't believe our eyes when we found this condo on "VRBO". First of all, right in the middle of Waikiki beach, with a beautiful ocean view on the 37th floor, 1 bedroom fully equiped just like my own home with everything you need (just bring groceries), plus FREE parking (others in our wedding party paid $25 a day for parking), plus FREE wifi ( others paid $10 a day) and FREE phone calls anywhere in North America (I phoned the family back in Canada, everyday, just to brag, how beautiful life was in Waikiki). AND if that wasn't enough, this condo was recently renovated, throughout. Of course we were skeptical at first but seeing that the owners live in Canada and they included their home phone number in the ad, we gave them a call. Yes the 2 weeks we wanted were available and they penciled us in. From this point on, the back and forth communication went very smoothly, through phone calls or emails. Right to calling us in Waikiki to make sure everything was up to snuff (which it was and hence my review title that we couldn't believe our luck at finding this gem). I won't go into how beautiful all the amenities are, because you can see for yourself in the owner's photos. We rented a car but didn't really need one, as everything is within a flat easy walking distance. The pool on the 6th floor has a snack bar offering simple meals at very good prices and there is a coffee/snack shop in the lobby (opens at 5 am) with a half dozen tables (the coffee and muffins are to die for) and a very helpful staff. The secure parking is clean and easy to use. The 4 elevators wisk you up and down very quickly with very little wait. We found plenty of good restaurants and bars within a block or two. A little gem, you might not find, is a little mom and pop grocery/liqour store, 1 block west as the crow flies. Thanks to this owner and their beautiful condo, we plan on coming back for maybe a month next time, it's so inexpensive to stay here. Thanks again.

  Thank you to the owners- Carol and Alvin for providing such a wonderful place to stay! We had a great time staying at this Spectacular Ocean View and Wonderful Luxurious Condo! The ocean view is wonderful that we enjoyed from the condo including kitchen, living room and bedroom. This condo is newly renovated, very nice, clean, comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed (free phone call within US and Canada, free WIFI etc.). The location is fantastic and only about one block from the beach. We will definitely recommend this condo. Thanks again.

  This property is beautifully renovated and well-maintained with absolutely a gorgeous view of the beach and Waikiki area. The location is centrally located with only 1 block to walk to the beach. Our family had a wonderful time and it lived up to all of our expectations. I will definitely rent this property again. Thanks again Alvin!
