My friends and I (10 people total) spent the weekend in this lovely house and had a great time. It is very cosy & we spent a good amount of time on the amazingly comfortable sofas, in front of the fireplace, enjoying the light coming through the windows. The view is very nice, especially in this season and being on the deck in the jacuzzi is a very nice. The kitchen is well equipped, as well as the bathrooms and the bedrooms. All was perfectly clean when we arrived. The instructions provided to reach the house were very clear and the owner also added some nice 'to-do' in the region. Leaving on the sunday, we were already thinking about the next time we will be able to stay in this house. We recommend it 100% not only to groups of friends like ours but also to any family that wishes to visit the region while having a nice and cosy time. So it is very true, the weekend felt like a holiday in this vacation house !!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This past June our boys graduated high school. Time to celebrate! What better way then a weekend away (just the mom's) in the beautiful Catskills! We searched and found the perfect house! This place had everything we needed for our celebration. We sat on the porch at night, breathing fresh fall air and marveled at hundreds of sparkling stars. We walked for miles up country roads, never seeing a car and thought of a time when life was so much simpler. We spent the night around an amazing fireplace, drinking wine and sharing stories of our boys and their high school antics. We hooked up an Ipod and danced the night away!! Thank you Todd, your home was everything you promised. You are a fantastic host and after all of our endless questions, your patience and helpfulness was greatly appreciated. Great tip to shop for groceries before we arrived. You really are in Gods Country! The "mom's" give it 5 thumbs up!! This is a great place for friends or families!!Did you find this review helpful? This house was a perfect setting for a girls weekend. The light in the living room is amazing! Its really perfectly designed for a comfortable weekend for a medium-sized group. There were 9 of us and plenty of sleeping space and plenty of lounging space. Saturday was beautiful and we spent the day on the deck. We ate breakfast on the deck, sat with our feet in the hot tub and played Catch Phrase, and then took naps on the deck. We grilled dinner on the really easy to use gas grill, and then half of us sat inside by the fire on the cozy couches while the other half of us sat in the hot tub under the stars! Perfect! Sunday was overcast, but the morning light in the living room was still bright and beautiful. The beds were cozy and it was really nice to have ipod docks/sound systems to listen to music in the background. We all wished we could've stayed an entire week! Oh - and the owner is really great to work with. Gives really helpful directions to the house and is really responsive to any questions. Thanks for a nice weekend Todd!Owner response: HI Becca, Thank you for your stay. I didn't realize you came all the way from Seattle. I take every stay personally and when I get a thoughtful review like yours it really makes me feel good. We never really know who we are renting to and in some cases we get some real unpleasant people ( Read- smokers and dramas stay away from my house). You and your lovely friends are welcome to return anytime and we now allow 2nd time perfect renters to stay without a damage deposit. Thanks again Todd

Todd was very responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process. The house is huge and has all the amenities you'd need - just make sure to bring food! The beds/sofa are big and comfortable, and if you are looking for a relaxing weekend, the pool table/tv/hottub/grill, etc will keep you entertained and busy that you don't really need to leave the house. LOVED the huge deck and the view.Owner response: Thanks Weishi for your stay.

My fiance and I spent the weekend here with a few other "couples" friends. The place was great and Todd was super helpful in answering any questions we had and made the whole process very pleasant and easy. Sitting in the hot tub listening to the sound of the frogs and the stream across the street was a very pleasant change to the traffic/police sirens/blaring reggaeton i am used to in Brooklyn. The place was kept up very nice and the land it sits on is quite beautiful. Perfect peaceful getaway. There are lots of great hikes/walks in the area. We will definitely come back to Todds place when the city becomes too much and we need another weekend in the woods.. which by my calculations should be pretty soon. Thanks again Todd for everything!Owner response: Im in Asia on business for the next 3 months and your review really makes me miss my Vacation home. I do love the peace and tranquility. And more and more I am missing the clean fresh air and the poland springs quality drinking water from our tap and showers. I can't complain , Im living on a beautiful Island with amazing beaches but it is quickly being polluted . I hope we as a people figure out how to stop using fossil fuels and save our resources. Sorry , I miss my Catskill home It is a special place to me. Im happy that you and your group get to appreciate it like I do. Best Todd

This house is not what I expected at all. The photos make the house look amazing when in actuality, the house is smaller than it appears and is quite dirty. There are stains on the sofas and carpets (in almost every room), not to mention raggedy filthy carpet in one of the bathrooms!! The "chef's kitchen" is a joke. The oven looks older than the house and there is barely any counter space to do preparations. Also, the pool table was missing some pool balls. Luckily, our group was easy going and made the best out of the weekend, but I would not rent this house again. I'd be much happier in a cleaner house. Finally, the owner tried to claim we had stolen 4 towels when all the guest brought their own towels (and linens). Just unbelievable.Owner response: Leticia emailed me that she had a great time and the house was fantastic. It wasn't until I informed her that she had left the house a mess and violated our no smoking in the house policy and removed 4 of our towels that these comments suddenly appeared. Despite all the damage that her party did to our house I left it up to her to tell me what she thought was the fair thing to do with the damage dep. She asked for it all back. I happily agreed but would never rent to her group of misfits again. And this review is the thanks I get, go figure. Not cool Leticia

We had a girls' weekend at Todd's lovely home in Jan. 2012 and the house had everything we could ask for: hot tub, pool table, direct TV, clean, comfortable, stocked with all the necessities and then some. Some of the girls never left the house all weekend, others went hiking or skiing which is less than 10 minutes away. Even with 10 of us it still felt quite spacious; the layout allows you to hang out in different areas and do your own thing. The house is situated on top of a hill with expansive views, it is very quiet in the surrounding area. Personally I thought it was a terrific value; this is a very nice mountain cabin, not a luxury hotel, as some of the other reviewers seem to be expecting. Everything was very clean and everything worked. When we had some confusion in the beginning Todd was very helpful despite being halfway around the world at the time; he clearly takes pride in his property and highlighting the local area. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a getaway in the Catskills.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Upon arrival we all collectively agreed that the pictures don't even do it justice... the place was great, everything was, instant coziness, and it couldn't have been a smoother or more pleasant transaction. Todd made everything incredibly simple and easy. A wonderful touch in having an iPod dock in each room, which we definitely utilized, there was even a mac, wifi, a big flat screen tv with couches so comfortable more than one of us often opted to sleep on it over taking a bed. They had the fireplace to sleep to. There are a handful of mountains to chose from within driving distance. Belleyre being the closest. We often grilled, plus the kitchen has everything you would expect a kitchen to have including blenders, a coffee machine (thank god), all the plates and cups, mugs, pots, pans, condiments, herbs and spices you would need. You know the rest, it's there in the description, there's no need to factor in any sort of disappointment here. It's beautiful here, and it lives up to expectations. And Todd couldn't have been more amicable.Owner response: That was one of the nicest reviews, thanks Jason. We are currently renting a place in a "luxury" home in a tropical paradise for the winter and paying top dollar I might add and when we arrived the place didn't have any of the basic cooking amenities that you mentioned above that you liked about our home. It is so disappointing , who doesn't have a colander or a bottle opener not to mention every other necessity. Its like we rented a Rolls Royce without a radio or seats. It didn't even have a broom or vacuum. Thanks again Todd

We came up here with a few friends and everything was perfect. I've heard some horror stories from friends who have rented in upstate, so I was apprehensive, but everything was as promised. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, the A-frame was perfect for a much bigger group than our 7, beds were super comfy, the hot tub was perfect, and there was plenty of firewood. When I want to go away again, this place will be first on my list.Owner response: Thanks for the nice comments. We have a lot of repeat visitors for exactly the reasons you mentioned. The Catskills are such a wonderful area but finding accommodations that we ourselves would want to rent are few and far between which was the main reason we wound up purchasing a place. Your welcome back anytime.

I cannot say enough good things about this perfect little slice of paradise in the Catskills. I rented the house for my best friends' bachelorette party-- we're all a bit on the tamer side these days, and were looking for a house where we could cook a big dinner, hang out, watch movies---and everyone could have a proper bed to sleep in. The house totally exceeded our expectations. It was clean, cute, charming- and *fully* stocked. The hot tub is the cherry on top of an already great place...and the owner is a pleasure to work with. He is quick to respond to emails, and very helpful!Owner response: Its thoughtful reviews like these that inspire us to make our place as special as possible for a wonderful stay. Thank you for your visit.

If you're looking to enjoy the murmur of silence and remove yourself from all the city sounds and stress, this is the house to spend a long weekend at. Completely removed from the world, perched on top of a hill with a spectacular view of the mountains and trees, it gives a whole new meaning to peace & quiet. This house is perfect for a couple or for a group of friends. Personally, romance is in the air at this spot. With a jacuzzi tub built into the large deck, a couch made for pure lounging, and a fireplace crackling, it embodies all of what you're looking for in a getaway. It had all the amenities I needed to stay somewhat in touch with the city world (i.e wifi, pool table, 50" flat screen) .. but nothing compared to the views, the morning sunlight beaming into the large windows of the house, and the simplicity of waking up and enjoying life in the middle of nowhere.Owner response: Thanks again for your stay and thank you for keeping it so clean.

If you are looking for a quaint, country house stay in The Catskills, then this is a great place to do it. The house was clean, comfortable, easy to find and just a short drive in to Woodstock. Had all the amenities we needed for 8 adults and 2 small children. Took Todd's advice and visited the country store at the end of the road - GREAT recommendation - the make some kind of mexican breakfast sandwich with hot peppers, onions, eggs, lettuce, and I think there was breaded pork too Im not sure exactly what was in it but it was fresh and fabulous! Also, the Peekamoose for dinner was unbelievable , to find such a gem in the middle of the Catskills. The weather was a little chilly so we didn't get to enjoy dining on the porch as often as we would have liked but we did enjoy the hot tub every night of our stay and sipped cups of cocoa in the tub and by the fireplace. Late at night we couldn't see the view of the steam but we could listen to the water flowing in the creek....so peaceful! Would recommend to friends and family. In fact my mother (who we brought here last Summer when she visited from Boca Raton, Fl) has requested we look in to availability when she and my grandmother come up next Summer.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Ahh yes the Torta cuban from Sam's Country store is not to be missed. Its not even on the menu and that is why I let people know about it. Its 8 bucks which seems a little pricey but it is much too big for one person to enjoy. I found the ingredients online. This is what is in it. Not sure what a Teleras is but im sure you can google it. Thanks for you stay. Todd Recipes Torta Cubana Ingredients: 1 tablespoon butter 1 cup shredded cooked chicken 1 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper 4 slices of pork loin 4 slices of turkey ham 1 tablespoon corn oil 6 turkey sausage 8 slices cheddar cheese or American type 4 large teleras 6 tablespoons mayonnaise ½ cup refried beans bays 6 tablespoons mustard 6 tablespoons ketchup 8 slices ripe but firm avocados pickled jalapeno peppers

If you want a relaxing vacation, expect anything BUT relaxing. On the way to this rental, many of the roads were falling apart due to the past hurricane. So prepare for a drive that makes you feel like you are in the beginning of a horror movie. This of course is not the owners fault. Owners fault: Check-in was anytime after 12:00pm. We came here for our honeymoon, ready to relax. We arrived around 5:00pm to find an empty case of beer outside the front door, a tricycle outside, a car, and a whole family inhabiting this vacation rental. As they looked at us like we had 5 heads, the owner- Todd- had no idea we were coming. He thought we were coming on Sept 23- Friday when our reservation was Sept 19-Monday (not even close to accurate). As he went in his house, he realized he made a mistake and offered to treat us to dinner while this house was cleaned quickly in an hour. This house was suppose to be cleaned up professionally by a maid, not quickly by the owner and his wife and kid. We felt very uncomfortable with the whole situation. Advising Todd we were not going to stay because of his mistake, he did give back the full refund; but refused to give us back the deposit saying he was insulted we asked for this back. Once again, this was his mistake and we were insulted in the unprofessional business operations he has. From the outside of the house, I do not even know where he took some of these pictures from. Perhaps Photoshop helped. We did not even want to see inside the house, but I assure you this is ANYTHING BUT A HOLIDAY, BUT AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE IN THIS RENTAL HOME. This is NOT a vacation home. Instead, this is a home that a family lives in and when someone happens to rent it, they go elsewhere for the time being (very creepy). I am one that never writes complaints about people or services, but I do not want other people to fall into the same situation we fell for, expecting a beautiful relaxing vacation and getting the complete opposite. Save your money, and stay at home before renting anything from Todd Nation.Owner response: Check in time was clearly stated as 4PM,not 12 PM. Time spent at the nearby spa was offered. Dinner on me was suggested. Neither were excepted. Was told wife hadn't wanted to come in the first place and since it wasn't ready upon arrival wanted full refund. Full refund was given. A note to newly weds, marriage is a partnership. Consult your partner before planning a trip.

What a beautiful place to unwind and reconnect with your peaceful self and good friends. Both spacious and cozy, with picturesque views from every window, this is the perfect place for a “Ladies’ Getaway.” The house is beyond comfortable with amenities galore. A cozy fireplace - Recalling the hours spent by the fireplace with friends, laughing and sharing the stories of our lives, will bring a smile to my face for some time to come. The owner was professional and accessible, really everything went so smoothly that its sort of unbelievable! The listing was accurate, the property was clean, the owner was great, and the hiking/shopping/dining in the area offers many possibilities! I recommend the Peekamoose!!!! Had a fabulous girls weekend sharing wine, good food and conversation - can't wait to go back! Thank YouRecommended for: Girls getaway
Owner response: We love to have guests like you . You and your friends are always welcome. The Peekamoose is our favorite restaurant too and we are so grateful That Devin and Marybeth chose to open their world class restaurant in our area. Now if we could only get a better selection of wines in the local wine stores we would really never have to go back to NYC. Thank You for your kind words.

This was a planned weekend for a friend's bachelor party in the woods and it turned into a weekend of not only that, but a weekend of epic weather in the northeast. we ended getting stuck there for an extra night (and todd didn't charge us a dime) with many roads out, but to tell you the truth, we might as well have been oblivious to it. We had an amazing weekend and plan to visit next summer and the summer after and so on. with beautiful scenery and an amazing house with a big deck and a hot tub, we didn't care about the storm. we were even in the hot tub during the heaviest of weather. before the rains, we wondered up into his yard and beyond. there is plenty of forest to roam and explore and we plan to do more of it next summer. There is plenty more i could say about this place (we spend plenty of time shooting pool during the storm), but once you go and enjoy it, you'll have plenty of your own to share.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have used this website to obtain housing for our family on several occaisions. The description and the pictures made it look very appealing, and we found it to be just as the ad said. We all had a great stay and felt the house had a very convenient layout for the 5 of us. The kitchen was well equipped, and the owner allowed us to pick some fresh vegtables from his garden. That was an unexpected treat and a bonus. My kids now think zuccini is their favortite vegetable! Linens were plentiful. House was clean and everything worked. we enjoyed the surrounding area, had a great time in the woods on and off the property and found the water in the stream to be the best water we have ever tasted. I would not hesitate to tell my friends or relatives this one is a sure fire winner. I give it an A+ and would actually considedr going back again, even though we like to explore new areas. I used to rent other homes in the area before I found this home and Since 2006 I have stayed at Todd’s house exclusively when I come up. His home and its surroundings are like my home away from home. It not only takes the edge off living in NYC, it completely reinvigorates me. My girlfriend especially likes the views from the deck and the hot tub. The location is about 25 scenic minutes from Woodstock, but the best restaurant around (the Peek moose) is close to the house so we rarely visit Woodstock anyway. The house has a massive deck with so much furniture that we can easily host small gatherings outside or inside and the addition of the oversized Webber grill is something I especially enjoy. The house has every amenity I can think of and is in a beautiful setting. Thank you for sharing your home with me and my friends PS The owner is always helpful in answering any questions, I would recommend this property to friendsOwner response: You guys like family to me. Your welcome to stay at our home anytime. Thanks for your continued patronage. Todd

The house provided everything we needed, with a pool table, hot tub, and great collection of DVDs and games! Todd was a helpful host the entire time; whenever we had a question and needed to give him a call he was there. It was great to wake up with the view of the mountains outside the sliding glass doors and even in the summer the house doesn't get too hot because of the cool mountain breeze. The house was close to a great lake and hiking, I'd highly recommend it!Owner response: We have been visiting this area ourselves for only 6 years so we haven't hiked a tenth of all the trails. But, the hiking that I recommend the most is Giant Ledge or Panther, they are actually both the same summit but can be started from completely different locations on opposite sides of the mountain. Giant ledge takes longer to ascend but is of a more gently slop. Panther is nearly vertical, ok it is straight up at the last section of the mountain. The lake that is referred to is the pine hill lake which has a small beach along its shore and has a very park like setting. There are row boats and kayaks that can be rented on the lake. Additionally, food and drinks can be purchased and a life guard is on duty. If you want to bring your own food there are pick nick tables and grills for you to use. They also have a playground for the little ones if playing in the sand of the beach isn't enough

Definitely whats needed after a crazed and congested city like new york. A break away from the rapid pace of life and stuffy air..this place was gorgeous. My friends and I were already planning another stay from the first night there! The deck is huge, plenty of seating and not to mention the 6 person jacuzzi! BBQ was brand new and cooked us some perfect hamburgers and steaks. Todd was a great host, he and I kept in constant communication and he was very receptive and helpful to any questions I may have had, plus he gives great directions and a heads up on the spots to eat in town. Short drive into the town, you can find almost anything needed for a short stay. The home was cozy, spacious and comfy..very classic with some antique appliances yet very modern and contemporary. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from it all, breathe some fresh, real air into their lungs or just looking to slow time down for a while.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I found Todd's home while looking for a dog friendly house(no small feat) for my husbands birthday. Upon stepping out onto the deck it was obvious that the photos, while beautiful, don't begin to do the place justice. The entire valley complete with steam and mountain views are yours to view and explore. The house is absolutely amazing and has every conceivable amenity that you could need. We took long walks through the property and around the area every morning. Ate breakfast, lunch and dinner on the deck and sipped champagne at night in the hot tub. There is a huge flat screen tv in the living room but we just didn't seem to find the time to use it although we did plug in our iphones into the bose wave radios in the bedroom and the living rooms. We have traveled all over the globe and this ranks as one of our absolute favorite vacations. When we got back to our city home it seemed so bleak to not be surrounded by a lush valley and forest. The sound of the steam was replaced by the upper west side traffic on monday morning. We Can't wait to have our morning coffee and see those mountian views again real soon. The coffee tasted so much better up there, my husband thinks its because the water was so good, its like spring water from every faucet. Im not sure what it was but im hooked. Thank you Todd for making this trip special for us and for always answering any questions that we had.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We try to welcome people and 4 legged family friends alike especially since we know how hard it can be to travel with mans best friend. We used to have a dog ourselves and in the city she was always by our side and would barely go outside but once she gets to the country she turns into a different animal all together. Her hunting instincts take over and she is off exploring and chasing. The look on her face was priceless. We too have traveled to many places last count it was over 50 countries for me and over 67 for my wife. I think Bariloche and Aspen are a little nicer in my book but within 3 hours of NYC the Catskills cant be beat. Thanks for your stay and your wonderful review.

It was what my friends and I really needed.. Recharging ourselves and forgetting everyday craziness in a peaceful place. The owner was wonderful and super helpful although we tried to book the place a day before the arrival. The place was truly amazing: situated at a beautiful spot, fireplace, outdoor hot tub and bbq.. Our time there was just perfect.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We try to always have the house ready for last minute visitors, so feel free to come again on a moments notice , your group were great guests.

Awesome , awesome, awesome. This home and the area were more than a welcome change from my time spent studying in NYC. The Fall time was breathtaking and the stars and sky where better than the Outback. We saw shooting stars and meteor showers while sitting in the jacuzzi with the mountains illuminated in the background. The home was so much nicer than in the pictures and the bedding was incredibly comfortable with down pillows and comforters in every room. The home has a very uplifting zen-like appeal that made our group be able to kick back and relax immediately. The owner was very helpful in giving us suggestions on where to eat and where to get fresh seafood. The Peekamoose was our favorite restaurant suggestion and the Main Black bear does have the freshest seafood -who knew the Catskills would have that. I had such a wonderful time in 08 that I have booked two more weeks this year one for Spring and one for the Summer too. I hope to keep my old memories and form new ones . I can't wait! Highly recommend.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Renting to and from strangers is a two way street and we hope that our home gets the same treatment as our guests. You never know what a positive experience may bring. Many of the relationships we have formed from renting has blossomed into more than just a weekend stay at our place. The Sheila from down under went on to rent one of my apartments in NYC for an entire year and we knew from our previous experiences she would be a great renter. Thank you for your kind words

If you love beautiful locations and comfortable quarters you will love this place. the house was everything i wanted and more. you can spend your days lying on the spacious deck with the goregous view or you can stay inside curled up by the fire. the owner was very easy to reach and very helpful whenever we had problems. the mountains are not very far and hiking is wonderful. the grocery store is not far away and the townspeople are lovely! o yeah let us not forget the hot tub. i won't say to much about it because words can't describe but it is beautiful! so much so that my friends and i plan on making a visit to this property an annual tradition. hope your time there is as good as mine was.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you. Come pick up your humongous gold hoop earing at your leisure. Todd
