  The Druid Hills Cottage was an escape from the reality of dropping off our freshman at Ga Tech. It was a wonderful place to transition our son from dependent to independent, a short distance to drive to pick him up from campus in the moments he decided he still needed his family. Our home being 13 hours away by car, we needed the local home away from home to make the transition. Having our 14 year old and dog in tow, this was a god send, and much more private than many "suites" that hotels offer with the demi wall in between the beds. The sofas, however, are really not suitable for a third person, and luckily our youngest son was content with a blanket on the floor. Happy in fact, but a regular length sofa or sleeper sofa would go a long way to expanding this to a regular occupancy of 3-4 instead of 2 for most people. We were relieved, however, that we were able to move our 6' son into his dorm right away. That said, this is a fabulous value...one we hope to use regularly during our son's stay at GTech. It is a no brainer for two. Wish I could still reach out and grab a ginger blossom to inhale. Paradise.

  My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights while she attended a program at the CDC. The place is charming and perfect for two people. The pictures do not quite capture how stylish and comfortable this cottage really is. The pool was fabulous as well. The area is lovely and the cottage is quiet and private, with lush plantings. The location was terrific and we had no trouble exploring Atlanta from there. It is quite near Emory University and the CDC, but minutes to mid-town (High Museum, Botanical Gardens) and the famous area malls (Lenox, Phipps, Atlantic Station), plus many restaurants. The owner is gracious and made sure our stay was what we expected. We hope to stay again next time we visit Atlanta.

  After staying in VRBO listing 381570 with all the family, my wife and I stayed a few more days is Atlanta and rented the "pool house" privately located behind the "big house". Be assured that this is much more than a pool house. It is a one bedroom cottage with spacious living, bedroom, bath and kitchen areas. It is perfectly accomodating for 2 guests. It has a covered porch and a great Bar-B-Que. The large HD large screen TV is a welcome addition. There is a beautiful salt water lap pool that is the focal point of the fenced and private back patio. I can't wait to return in summer to use the pool. The pool's water falls were a welcome and soothing sound at night. This cottage is located in a quiet and exclusive area close to shopping , grocery and restaurants. It is an easy, quick drive to downtown Atlanta, easily accessable to freeways and tourists attractions.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.
