  The best aspect of the property is the location. Absolute beachfront, with stunning views to the gulf islands and the mainland beyond. Even though the beach is rocky, this actually provided hours of entertainment as the kids loved searching through the rock pools for crabs and other creatures at low tide. The water was a lovely temperature to swim in during our stay. The adults enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine watching the moon rise spectacularly out of the ocean. The house itself is showing its age a little, but was very well equipped, including the kitchen. The appliances may be a bit old, but they work fine. The only gripe was the kitchen tap, which really needs replacing. The hot tub appeared to be almost brand new, and saw lots of use through the week by both young and old. The surrounding area is quiet but perfect for those seeking a relaxing getaway. There is quite a good local store which is an easy walk up the road, and a decent super-market a short car-ride up the road in Bowser. All in all, our group of 6 adults and 6 kids had an absolutely wonderful week, and we would not hesitate to go back for another visit in the future.

  This was our first time using this website and our first renting a holiday house. Overall it was an excellent holiday experience! This is a great location with easy access to many places. The beach is too rocky to play on but a great place to take out kayaks and the tide pools were a fun treat. It was fun watching the sealions as well. The house is a perfect size for a larger group- we had 9 people (two families) with kids ranging from 10-18 and never felt cramped although a bigger dining table with more chairs would have worked better. The fireplace and pit were well stocked. We had two avid cooks and they found the kitchen well stocked. A few items needed to be fixed; the kitchen faucet leaked VERY badly, the oven and stove are outdated, and the queen bed frame in the back bedroom needs to be replaced although the mattress itself is comfortable. The sliding doors need to be updated (we avoided using one of them because it was too hard to open or close). The screens on the windows need to be fitted better and maybe screens on the sliding doors. The hot tub needed a better clean. The house was clean but could use a good scrub in some areas. Some of the plants/bushes on the beach have overgrown and obscure the some of the view. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and we would book it for ourselves as well. We enjoyed Horne Caves, Qualicum beach, Cathedral Grove, Sproat Lake and Little Qualicum Falls although we could have filled another week or two with activities! Lefty's has great food, Bare Bones (Port Alberni) has great fish, and The Beach Hut has yummy ice cream (40 flavors). Came home very relaxed, wish I was still sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean sipping my coffee. Or sipping a glass of wine in the hot tub as the sun sets watching the sealion bob in the water.   We just spent 5 beautiful days at Imagine Beach Cottage. This was everything that that the photos reflected, the owners have thought of everything, all that was required was groceries, everything else was provided. Like the ad says "Paradise On Your Doorstep". We would most certainly recommend this property to anyone, we hated to leave. We have already booked for Novemeber. We did not take in any other activities, or attractions as we were very happy to just spend the time on the beach, sitting by the fire, enjoying the hot tub. Watching the sea lions, and the seals, and eagles and enjoying the view. We took our Golden Retriever with us and he had a wonderful time, exploring the beach, and having a good holiday along with us. He was off leash the whole time,and was very safe. This will become our go to place to just relax and get away.
