It's a fully furnished, newly redecorated, air conditioned, private, lakefront home with over 3000 square feet of living area! This home is located on the north end of Elk Lake with a panoramic view down the length of Elk Lake. You can boat through the famous Chain-of-Lakes with over 30 miles of navigable waters featuring Torch Lake (the "sand bar"), Lake Skegemog, Clam Lake, and Lake Bellaire. "Sunrise-Sunset" has 103 feet of private sandy beach making it fun to wade as well as swim. The water's depth is shallow and then gradually gets deeper making it a great place to vacation with children. There is a dock and mooring anchor to hold your boat during your visit. Jet skis can be easily pulled onto sandy beach.
This spacious home offers plenty of room for up to 16 people. There are six bedrooms and two baths with additional rooms containing twin beds and sofa sleepers. On the main level there is a complete kitchen with a dining room, living room, two bedrooms, one bath, and a family room that opens out to a 12-foot by 25-foot large deck with steps down to the lake. There is an additional bedroom upstairs.
The lower level features beautiful Michigan stone walls. It has three bedrooms, a family area, one bath, and a Florida room that walks out to the spacious yard and lake.
This home is located near the city of Elk Rapids with their cute shops and great restaurants. It is minutes from some of Michigan's finest golf courses and gourmet restaurants. It is close to Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Harbor Springs. Enjoy shopping, exploring, or try your luck at the many casinos in the area. There are tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts nearby.

Thank you for a delightful week! The house was just right for all of us; enough room to eat dinner together, but enough other space to be alone or play a game with a few of us. Elk Lake suited us so well, sandy beach and shore, great sailing, wonderful swimming. The tennis courts down the street were a big hit, too. The shopping was just right. I joined my fiance and his family - son, daughter-in-law and three children under the age of five - at Sunrise-Sunset this year. We spent a wonderful week on this beautiful lake - water ski-ing, cruising, playing in the water and on the sandy beach. It was perfect! The house is very comfortable and exceptionally clean with plenty of room for alone time and family time. The back yard is huge and the neighborhood is peaceful except for the regular chiming of the church bells across the road. This was my first trip to the lakes of Michigan - what an experience. Outstanding view of Elk Lake. What a charming home,if I lived closer I would be there every weekend. I also enjoyed how close it is to Traverse City. My children spent hours on the sandy beach with no worry with the shallow depth of water. Everything was as expected and more. Thank you for a dream vaction. We enjoyed Sunrise/Sunset very much, would rent again. Nice sandy beach, large area for kids (and adults) to play. House could have been cleaner when we arrived, but large and we had plenty of room for 13 people. This was the last rental of the season after a full summer so it's possible that it could have been cleaner. We will work to ensure that the home is as clean as possible.

homeowner-added comment: Over the last five years, we've had many families and groups returning multiple years to enjoy our little bit of paradise on Elk Lake. Our vacationers have particularly enjoyed the sand beach that is great for children since it slowly gets deeper with no drop-offs. The water is crystal clear, matching and some years exceeding the clarity of the also famous, Torch Lake. In a way, Elk Lake is slightly better than Torch since it warms up earlier in the season and stays that way later into the season. The size of our home is another positive for our vacationers since it accomodates large families and groups but also allows for individuals to get away for some private time on any of the three levels. The lakeside yard is very large with beautiful shade trees by the water. These trees are situated so that there's also some great sun and tanning areas. There's a large open area between the lake and the house where some enjoyable baseball, volleyball, badminton and croquet games have taken place. Whether it's a family reunion, group golf retreat or just a time to get away from it all, "Sunrise-Sunset" on Elk Lake has been enjoyed by many.
