Myself and a few friends had rented the house for New Years Eve and we couldn't have had a better time. It had a fully equipped kitchen that allowed us to cook all of our meals and a number of rooms that allowed each of us to spread out throughout the house. Each of the bedrooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. The screened in front porch was great for us to sit out and relax in. The eating area/dining room was another great room which we spent a lot of time in. It has two large couches and a large table where we ate. We noticed the house was pet friendly which is nice if you have pets and is definately big enough if you would like to bring one. My friends and I have been renting a house for New Years Eve for 4 years now and this by far was the best house we've rented. The one thing about the house is that it does not have cable. So if you are looking to watch television this is not the house for you, we brought DVD's and were fine with that. We hope to rent this house again next year!

Clean and Comfortable, but beware if you have mobility issues.
Clean and Comfortable, but beware if you have mobility issues.
My party included myself & spouse, 2 teen-age sons, and my elderly parents. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The pictures accurately represent the rooms. Clearly a lot of work has recently been finished - all the interior surfaces, for example, appear to have been freshly painted, in attractive colors. We just wanted a base for tourist activity and it worked for that. Because of the house's age and construction, however, there are some things of which I think renters should be forewarned. We arrived after dark and getting to the front door was a trick - the ground is uneven and the walkway not well maintained or lit. We got in the habit of parking the car so that the headlights shone toward the door, and then dashing up before they shut off. (Even after we got in, the only light switch to the outdoor floodlights we could find was upstairs.) There was no heat in the room identified as the 'original bedroom' when the door was closed. The rest of the house did stay pleasantly warm. The floor plan is very peculiar, so that to get to the children's bedroom (with 2 twins beds) from the bedrooms with the big beds, you must go downstairs, across the house, and up a different staircase. Both staircases are narrow and quite steep. (My children thought this a bonus, but you may not.) Nearly every room is up/down a step from its neighbors and level spots are rare. This is not a home for folks with mobility issues. There were a few other oddities which we assumed were due to the fact the house has not been a vrbo rental for very long (missing curtains, bare light bulbs, no night-tables/lights, etc.) which will likely be rectified. The owners were friendly and offered tourist advice on the phone, as well as local info left in the house. We were prepared for the lack of TV and came armed with DVDs, but the only DVD player we saw was in a bedroom, not the living room. All in all, a decent rental but only for sturdy folks.
