So, we made our way up 21, in a newly rented SUV, in the dark. That might have been a mistake. Nonetheless, we found the property, snow notwithstanding. We had apprised the ownership/management that the would only be two of us. So the inacessibility of bedroom 4 and bathroom 3 didn't matter at all. We figured those were "owners space". The fixtures and appliances were of very good quality, with one exception. The kitchen faucet, while excellent quality, had it's handle fall off several times. Don't get me wrong, the property is fabulous. Clean? Absolutely. Marine Corps clean. Spotless. The only real complaint I have was the bed. I spent 25 years in the furniture industry, but even Asians would say the King is rock-hard. It hurt my back so much that it took me 90 minutes to move in the mornings. Ok, maybe Dish vs DiretcTv. The AV setup could use some tweaking. Huge number or DVD/BluRays available though. That said, I'd move there in a heartbeat. In fact, we're looking now. 4x4 is a must. I don't know about summer, but the signs as everyone to use 4x4 at all times. In winter, it's really not an option. It's mandatory. We had snow/ice almost every day. Our rented Expedition did fine. 12 minutes up, maybe 25 down. It's on the side of a mountain. The craftsmanship of the house is remarkable. The quality of the amenities, outstanding. The views are beyond belief. Gripes? Ok, the bed, but that's just me, a couple of lightbulbs, that's about it. PLEASE respect the septic notes. Do not use the garbage disposal as you would on a city sewer. And nothing, NOTHING goes down the toilets other than septic safe paper. Leave the Charmin at home. Buy your firewood at Donna's in Idaho City. It's local wood. Burn it where you buy it. Besides, it's a buck less. Buy your pie at Trudy's. Do NOT buy a cinnamon roll. Those are crack cocaine. I bet you could get your driveway shoveled, and a bunch of wood split for one. Sick. Just sick. Oh, just remembered. Had a significant snowfall on day 2. Somebody showed up with a studly 4x4 ATV, and plowed our driveway. Awesome. My wife says I can't give the place 5 stars (bed, DIshTv). But in my mind, it's way closer than 4. I manage facilities for a living. This place is VERY well managed. I can only imagine the summer opportunities, with the lake so close. But we're going to find out. No regrets, other than leaving. Do it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Outdoors: Majestic sights from the highway entrance to the door step. Phenomenal views of the mountains, incredible sunrises and sunsets, daily sights of beautiful birds and elk were worth every penny. Indoors: exceptionally clean, modern, and set up for simple upkeep. Everything you needed for basic living was provided. We had a delicious meal using the outdoor grill. The laundry room was a plus!!! The wood burning stove was one of the best highlights our stay. The beds were sooo comfortable. We highly suggest this rental!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Wow—what a great place you have!!! After being amazed at the ride to the house, we settled in to a wonderful week. The view was something else—especially our daily view of the smoke coming thru the valley. On one of our trips to Boise the smoke was quite thick—headlights on and driving very slowly. How do you ever drive up that mountain in the winter??? We so enjoyed sitting outside on the deck and spent many hours there. We took a ride to Idaho City, some played golf, zip lined at Zip Idaho, tubed down the Boise River, “hung out”, and had some pre-wedding fun in Kuna. Our niece’s wedding was outdoors in Kuna on Saturday and we had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends. We saw quite a few areas of Boise. Other relatives rented a house in the hills over Boise which had quite a view of the city. Our view, however, was the best!!! I think Laurie sent you a few pictures and told you we left some things for you. We also managed to do a few loads of towels and sheets before we left so that your cleaning crew did not have to do them. Laurie took a video of one of the rides up to the house. Even that didn’t do the ride/view justice! She was our chief “picture taker”. We thank you for the use of your lovely home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Joan! Thank you for the reimbursement for the Internet fee. I will give this to my colleague, Randy, as he initially paid for it. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for offering your home as a VRBO! You have a special place and I hope to stay there again. My Boise colleagues may consider this for faculty retreats. - Best WendyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This home is absolutely beautiful and has unforgetable views of the mountains and valley below. Everything was better than stated. Twenty inches of new snow had fallen two days before our arrival. But we were able to navigate the mountain road to the home without use of tire chairs on our rental vehicle. The home owners were very accomodating (even offering to let us cancel with a full refund due to the weather) and that in itself made us more determined than ever to get there. The caretakers (Ted and Elaine) were amazing to say the least. Unfortunately because of the weather we did not get to explore much of the area, but that will just give us a reason to back in the warmer months. I would recomment this home to everyone wanting to experience the clear mountain air in a beautiful home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.
