As a result of this conversion, we are the proud owners of this little piece of history - all 1053 sq. ft., boosting 16 ft ceilings, 12 ft windows (the windows are original to the building (which was built from 1913 to 1921)). About the owner: We live up Island (approx 2 hrs away) and operate a restaurant. We moved out to the Island 11 years ago from Toronto. While we enjoy living in a smaller community, we love city living. Our home away from home scratches that itch for a city fix. We work hard, but in our limited downtime, we head down to this pied-à-terre.
Why the Owner Chose Victoria: When we moved here from Toronto, every time we came to Victoria, we commented that this building would be a perfect candidate for a conversion. In September 2008 I read an article about this building being converted into condos - the next day found us in the car and several hours later, a deposit put on this suite.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: The choice of restaurants is extensive, a must - Jazzfest in June, two major downtown movie theatres within 5 min walk. Market on Yates is a favorite grocery store.
