Enjoyed our stay
We enjoined our stay in this lovely home. It was just right and reachable to all the places we went. Soooo much better than a cabin. Thanks again, Deb, Julie and Merilyn (2013)

This property was clean and had all the essentials available for our use. We stayed four nights and went to the ski lodge at Wolf Creek during the day. My overall experience was great. The only reason I rated as good instead of excellent is because the hot water heater is set up on a timer for the use of two people. There was an override switch which was supposed to make it possible for everyone in the group to have plenty of hot water for showers. Unfortunately, we could not ever figure out when to push the override to make sure there was hot water for everyone. Do you push it everyday at the start of the day, before the first shower of the day, after each shower, etc??? Overall great property, comfortable, well stocked and clean...If I stayed again I would definitely want more thorough instructions on how to operate the hot water.

Owner response: I am very sorry that this guest did not understand the workings of the 40 gal. hot water heater. It is set to heat water during the "low usage" periods of the electrical system to conserve energy. The system has an "override function" to heat water during "peak" usage periods that is fully explained in the guest manual which, unfortunately, this guest failed to read. The system is also explained to each arriving guest by my local representative upon arrival.

About the owner: My wife and I married in 1959. I am currently retired, but my woodworking hobby shows in the handmade furnishings in the house. Her knitting skills are on display through the house. Our three children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren enjoy playing in the snow and hiking the woods.
Why the Owner Chose South Fork:
After years of hiking the national forest and wilderness area, we vacationed in Lake City. When departing we went through South Fork, saw and fell in love with the town and this house. Here we have everything.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We enjoy the quiet, feeding the deer in the yard in the fall, and being in the mountains. All the activities we enjoy are here, most at no additional cost. Even though the house is located in a subdivision, it seems to be very remote. We also have some of the best, most helpful neighbors in the world
