THIS HIDDEN TREASURE IS our four season's retreat - a place to go to 'decompress' from a stressful job and hectic lifestyle. Its a place where time is measured not by a clock but decided by nature. Our children come here to spend quality time with their little ones in the out of doors and to re-live their own childhood memories at 'the lake'. Lake Almanor sits at 4,500 elevation and is 52 miles around. This pristine lake is warmed by underground springs making it delightful for all boating, swimming and fishing. The winters average over 100 inches of snow perfect for cross country skiing, snowmobiling and sledding.
YOUR VACATION BEGINS THE MOMENT you step through the front door and into the open and airy Great Room, modern Kitchen and Dining area with it's gorgeous hardwood floors , massive brick fireplace and endless walls of windows that capture the tallest trees and bring the outside in. A huge composite deck wraps around the back of the home making it perfect for large gatherings and BBQs. The rear yard is private and natural and perfect for kids to explore and rock climb.
The downstairs bedroom with a CA King Bed is bright and sunny; has its own patio, connecting bathroom, a TV and DVD player. A spiral staircase flanked by wall to ceiling windows leads upstairs to 2 bedrooms each with their own private patios, a shared bathroom, laundry room and sitting area with a desk. One bedroom has a King Bed, and the other bedroom two twins that can easily be converted to a King bed. There is also a queen sofa sleeper in the Great Room to accommodate extra guests.
Rec II with its sandy beach, roped off swim area and a boat launch are a short 5 minute walk from the house. A 10 minute walk will lead you to the golf course, driving range and the Club House which has wi-fi, a friendly sports bar and a great restaurant that serves lunch and dinner.

Good news, bad news
Good news, bad news
The bad news is that the owners have put this place up for sale, which means future rental opps are in question. Why bad? Because the place is absolutely GREAT!!! After going to nearby Eagle Lake for the past 20 years, my wife, sister and brother-in-law always looked forward to our annual Fall vacation, doing some fishing and playing plenty of games. With Eagle Lake so low, we experienced Lake Almanor for the first time last year. Liked the lake and area but the house we rented was not as advertised, plus the owners were difficult to work with. Enter the Wolfe house. Absolutely perfect, from having just about everything you need, to being comfortable, to being well taken care of. AND, this is a big, BIG plus, the owners were very responsive with all queries, before and during the trip. Very pleasant to deal with. Was chomping at the bit to book the house for another week in October 2014, but with the house for sale, that is up in the air. Too bad as this is a great place (only negative is that the sound really travels to the upstairs bedroom and if you are a light sleeper, sleep downstairs).

Wonderful Time at the Wolfe Cub House
We had a wonderful time at the Wolfe Cub House. Our family has been coming to Lake Almanor for over 20 years and this is by far the best non-lake front rental we have been to. The king size bed in the master bedroom was AMAZINGLY comfortable. The layout was great and it offered plenty of room. The home was comfortable and well furnished. The back deck was especially nice - with lots of umbrellas to use as needed. It was so peaceful and we would sit out and enjoy the stars at night. I would recommend it to family and friends! We hope to be back next year.

About the owner: The Wolfe Cub House brings us together for good times and pure fun. We love all the activities available and plan out our time together. July 4th is very festive at the Lake -- Chester's parade, wonderful BBQs and incredible fireworks display viewable from all over the lake. The lake is a fisherman's paradise.
