Location: Hernando Beach, Florida Central West, Florida, USA (50 miles north of Tampa)
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
This stilt, canal-front home was completed in 2003. Fish, swim, or bring your boat to tie up at the dock right out front. About a 15 minute boat ride to the Gulf through our "no-wake" zone. Water depth dockside is over 25 feet at low tide, while the ride out has shallower spots.
Large kitchen with stainless steel appliances and dining alcove overlooking canal. Screened porch. Large master bedroom with walk-in shower in master bath. Southern exposure provides bathing-suit winter warmth on sunny days
Fenced yard with tandem doggie doors leading outside, large enough to accommodate my lanky, 90 pound golden retriever. Double carport underneath with two more parking spots in driveway.
Hernando Beach is a rural, residential gulf coast town with wide open spaces and beautiful sunsets. Built on a canal complex, traffic is very light on our one major thoroughfare (40mph through town). Along the thoroughfare one can find a few momma/poppa eating spots, watering holes (including of course Hernando's Hideaway), numerous marinas, some small businesses, and one gas station. Shopping for all your needs, restaurants, services, etc., start about 4 miles down the road, beginning with a Walmart Supercenter. If you want to visit Florida, and stay in a countryside but convenient location, this is the place.
