  We looked at the house last summer before our stay and realized it would fit our expectations. We wanted to be closer to Burlington but Route 7 made it easily acessible. THe house was very comfortable. We stayed on the porch most of the time which was the best feature of the house. It is a beautiful neighborhood and we took walks to Shelburne Farms in the morning. I would recomend this house for anyone visiting the Champlain Valley.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  We stayed in the Shelburne house for a family gathering. Great house, great screened in porch (like a living room), well equipped. Owners responsive and pleasant. Would definitely stay again and do recommend.

  What a perfect place for our family to come together for Christmas. The owners added to our celebration by having the home tastefully decorated complete with a Christmas tree. The home was accurately described in every way and is very close to Burlington where there is much to see and do. The owners were more than helpful in the entire transaction, including mailing me the laptop that I had left behind. They answered all questions promptly and kept in contact for any needs we had. I would highly recommend this home. It was just what we had hoped for to create new family memories. We will remember board games by the fireplace, cooking and baking in the well stocked kitchen, and even our trek in the snow to the local country store. This was my first time renting a private home and it met every expectation.

  Could not have had a nicer, more pleasant stay. My wife and I and our 5 month old son were joined by our close family (8 adults total) for a week's relaxation and to attend a family wedding at Shelburne Farms. The home was comfortable, clean, spacious and with all the necessary amenities. The screened in porch and the grill and fire pit saw a lot of use during our stay! The owners are quite friendly and were very flexible/accommodating to our needs. Shelburne itself has a lot to offer -- we were quite pleasantly surprised at the Shelburne Museum (not at all expecting to find this caliber of cultural institution in such a small town), and we also took advantage of nearby hiking trails. Highly recommended!

  My family group of 8 adults had a great stay here in late August. We were pleasantly surprised that the house is in a residential neighborhood, about a minute off Route 7, yet private and quiet. There was plenty of room and the porch is especially nice, large enough to hold all of us comfortably (as was the house) for games and conversation in the evening. Burlington is nearby, as is plenty of shopping and some really good pizza places and breweries. Willie the cat is perfect - friendly but not at all pushy, as one member of our group is not fond of cats but he was no problem, and the rest of us enjoyed him a lot. A great place in a great location.

  Our triathlon team went up to Vermont to compete in triathlon nationals, and were looking to rent a 'team house'. We had a very comfortable stay in this home, and were very pleased with the accommodations. Jessica was really helpful in facilitating our stay, and was quick to respond with all orders of business, including the refund of our security deposit. The town of Shelburne was small but nice, and Burlington was an easy 15-20 minute drive.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

  This rental truly had everything we needed for our family of five (plus the addition of three extended family members during the last two nights of the trip), and the town of Shelburne also far exceeded our expectations as a vacation spot. As for the house itself, we loved having so much space to spread out. For example, there were four full bedrooms (including a private bath for the master) and also a futon in the pool table room as an extra sleeping spot. Also, we found that there were lots of great spots for hanging out: the living room (with a TV and DVD player plus fireplace), the beautiful screened-in porch, the pool table room and the backyard with a firepit. There are several dining spaces in the house: the kitchen table, the dining room area (in the living room) and some small tables on the porch. Our kids loved making s'mores around the firepit and playing in the large, flat backyard and wooded area. Each room had an a/c unit, which was helpful during the heat wave of our vacation (98 degrees in Vermont!) Jessica and Simon were great hosts, even though we never met them during our stay. (They were out of town that week but had a friend help us get settled in the house.) Both Simon and Jessica were readily available by email and phone both before, during and after our stay. They made a real effort to be accommodating. We also loved that they created a large display of brochures and magazines focused on area activities and attractions. The final thing to mention is that the town of Shelburne had way more to offer than we had imagined. The Shelburne Museum was truly spectacular, and all three of our kids loved it. We spent two afternoons there and didn't even cover everything. We also loved visiting Shelburne Farms (amazing!), the Shelburne Inn, Vt Teddy Bear Factory, the Saturday Farmers' Market, the thoroughly charming general store, the playgrounds up the street and some fantastic restaurants. We never even got to the lake, and we also didn't get a chance to go berry picking, check out the Maritime Museum, etc. This is a wonderful area of Vermont (a very short drive to Burlington, Stowe Vergennes, etc.) that doesn't feel touristy at all. Highly recommend across the board! :-)

  I would absolutely recommend this property for your next vacation in the Burlington area. The home was very clean, well furnished and fully stocked with everything we needed (towels, linens, paper products, etc.) We had 2 two year olds with us and it was nice having the space to let them run around both inside and outside. The house is located very close to downtown Shelburne and right up the road from Shelburne Farms. It is a little bit of a drive from downtown Burlington and we sometimes hit traffic on Route 7. The owners made the rental process very easy and promptly returned our security deposit.

  The house is impeccable and very clean. Large enough for a group without stepping on each other. The pool room is very entertaining and the living room with the tv/cable suits the quiet people. The decor is very modern and calm. Everything is in the kitchen to prepare a good meal. The owners are very accomodating and polite.The cat, Willie, is very charming and very affectionnate!! We would recommend this house...THUMBS UP!!!

  This house is very cozy. It is just as described and the photos are accurate. We slept 8 on great beds and had another 20 in and out through the weekend and it never felt crowded. The fire pit was a great hit and the screened in porch was the favorite place to hang out. The Shelburne Market is an excellent grocery store and very close. We did not go out to explore the town as we were there for a graduation, but it was very easy to get from there to Burlington. It was also easy for others who were coming from out of state to find and we had no trouble parking a large number of vehicles. It is a home away from home and for cat people, Willie is a marvelous addition. I highly recommend this house. Jessica and Simon are very easy going and welcoming.
