This is the second year I've stayed at this very comfortable riverfront home/lodge. It located along the finest stretches of fly fishing water in the country. Lots of good sized Rainbows, German Browns & Cuttthroats. And the fishing begins nearly off the backporch. A driftboat is available for rent from the owners or one can rent a boat and guide from operators in the area. The home itself is very roomy and comfortable for any season of the year. I was there in the Fall and early Summer. The fall colors are spectacular on the surrounding mountains. The home is surrounded by a lush lawn which makes it a perfect place for children to play - - or practice your fly casting techniques. There's also an area for a campfire. It's off the road which makes it very quiet. The home is well appointed with all the creature comforts. A beautiful kitchen which looks out on the backporch, lush lawn and rolling river. Many comfortable beds in 4 separate bedrooms and bathrooms which gives lots of privacy for multi-family use. It has a huge deck which runs along the entire back portion of the house. Great for BBQ's and social gatherings. For those who wish to sightsee in the area, both Idaho Falls and Jackson Hole are less than an hour away. Lots of good restaurants and fun shopping in both. If you love the outdoors, great fishing, and all around serenity of a mountain vacation, I can think of no better area and home to stay. Enjoy!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have stayed here several times over the past few years and found amenities, atmosphere, and location uncomparable. I live in the mountains near a scenic lake and river, and when I say that this lodge and surrounding property are breathtaking, I am comparing them to one of the finest fishing, vacation, and recreational areas in the country. If you are into shopping you will need a car and a day, but if you are into fishing, just grab a pole and step out the back door. You will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We have stayed at this Lodge on several occasions at different times of the year. It is well maintained, completely equipped and very clean. Our favorite time of the year to visit is late September. The foliage has turned and is as beautiful as anything we have seen in the New England area when the colors change. The wildlife is abundant and often can be seen without setting foot off the deck. When we want a night out, the Rockefeller fishing camp and restaurant is nearby for cocktails and dinner. We always return home completely relaxed after a vacation at Snake River Lodge. We'll visit there again in 2012.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

This is a beautiful, well-appointed home right on the Snake River in lovely Swan Valley, nestled between two mountain ranges. There is a feeling of peace and seclusion as it is well off the highway, and there are no adjacent homes. You can sit on the deck and watch the river go by as eagles, osprey, and white pelicans soar over head. Jackson and Idaho Falls are less than an hour away. The house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. I have enjoyed many a delightful stay in this home, and I would heartily recommend it to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

The house is beautiful and well maintained. Very cozy and comfortable for any time of year. It has a big fireplace, if the snow season is your thing. All you will need is at hand for a worryfree vacation. Just move in. The location is wonderful and you can see the Palisades dam upstream from the lodge. Palisades Resouvoir is a huge lake, excellent for boating or waterskiing. Or fish for trout or drift the southfork. The lodge is well off the road, therefore a peaceful, relaxing time can be expected on your visit. If you drive downstream along the river a few miles there is a cutoff off at the Swan Valley intersection. Taking the cutoff brings you through the Teton mountains into Victor, Idaho, then onto the famous Teton Village, or a little further on into Jackson Hole, Wyoming. That trip is less than one hour. There is no other place on earth where you can see so much wildlife and spectacular scenery as in Teton National Park or Yellowstone. The scenery at Coulter Bay is absolutely world class. We particularly enjoyed whitewater rafting and seeing the buffalo herds. For a quiet evening, flyfish on the southfork. Its out the lodge's back door. Rainbow trout is your most likely catch. The owners are really nice folks, very helpful in getting you oriented and will be happy to answer questions you may have. I have been at the lodge twice, and would go again in a heartbeat. Its my kind of living :-) .Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
