It was better then advertised! My wife and I stayed here with some family members for a week and it was a very convenient location. You could easily walk to any location in Halifax from this spot. Parking wasn't an issue there was always a spot open and we had two cars. All the amenities were in good working order and since the owners of the property live next door you never felt like you had to worry about anything. The rooms are all good sizes and very clean. the kitchen is fully stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need. The backyard is cute, private and peaceful. I have recommended this property to friends. JLRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I've been meeting to write this review all year - where did the time go?. We were in town visiting family and friends and this place provided a great home base giving us some of our own space in between visits. The pictures are accurate and if anything the house is better then pictured. Close to downtown, parks, playground - there is lots of pedestrian traffic in front of the house - we enjoyed the people watching and watching the skaters on the oval. We hosted a family gathering for hot chocolate after everyone went skating on the oval and the house had everything we needed. John was really helpful, everything was very clean and we liked that the owner was close at hand if we needed anything (we didn't). Parking is on the street, but we didn't ever have problem getting a spot, the only time it was an issue was on snow plow nights, but John let us use his driveway and it all worked out fine. We'll definitely look this place up again, next time we go back. My only comment is that you might want to ask about a baby gate for the stairs if you have really young children, the stairs are quite long and steep.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Sorry this is so late in posting. We rented this house for our son's wedding this past summer. It was a perfect location and perfect size for what we needed. We even hosted a rehearsal dinner in the backyard. All amenities were provided and we wanted for nothing. Parking is a bit tricky - but we were able to use the owner's spot a few times as well as the Tai Chi building down the street. Overall a great stay and would recommend it!! ThanksRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property is beautifully maintained and in an ideal location. I rented this space with 4 other individuals (one couple, 3 singles). The home was very clean upon arrival. Everyone had their own space and there was enough common space for use as well. The house has all of the amenities you will need and more. We felt at home in this space, the beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of linens. It was a huge bonus for us to have a washer and dryer and also a dishwasher! The location was perfect for walking anywhere and everywhere, including groceries, shopping, the waterfront, restaurants, movie theatre, the metro centre, skating oval and green space. The owners were always accessible if we had any questions and were very helpful. If I were to return to Halifax again in the future I would certainly stay here again. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Halifax area. It is well suited for all ages and all purposes. I would be more than happy to be a reference for the property, feel free to ask the owner for my contact information. Cheers.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed for 5 days in mid january. The house is centrally located and spotless. The owners were very helpful in advising us on local sights and events. We were able to park in a space next to the house. We particularly enjoyed skating across the street on the oval. Downtown is a 5 minute walk for night life and restaurants. Great yard for the summer..... Highly reccomended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.

This is a clean, spacious house and very well equipped -- no shortages of linens, housewares etc. We really appreciated having supplies such as laundry detergent, dish washing soap etc included as many self-catering places we have rented have not provided these. The house is well located and is walking distance to downtown, although we always drove. The owner was very helpful, and was always accessible to answer questions. As this is a fairly new short term rental the owner is still finalizing parking arrangements, and so it would be good to check what the current parking arrangements are. At the time we stayed, parking was on the street as available, although we never had a problem finding a spot.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.
