Outstanding Experience! Highly Recommend!

The apartment is exquisite. The amenities are plentiful. It's difficult to imagine a better location with Mexico City. It's impossible to imagine a better host than Petra. She knows what you need to know before you know you need to know it. Without a doubt, I will be back.

Absolutely Perfect In Every Way!

Everything about our stay at Bolivar Suites was absolutely perfect! The location, the historic building, the view of Mexico's incredible historic center, the furnishings, the art and the hospitality...all exceeded our expectations. I have lived and traveled back and forth from Mexico City all of my life. The Bolivar Suites and its surrounding neighborhoods combined with easy walking, taxi and metro access to all of Mexico City's treasures simply can't be beat. The apartment is immaculately maintained and the, "vibe" is artistic, cosmopolitan and charming. My family and I use VRBO properties all over the world and we rent our house out on the service. Bolivar Suites is one of the best properties we have rented.

A gorgeous sanctuary in the best spot in Mexico City. A fabulous penthouse steps from Cafe Tacuba and the Zocalo. Ceci and Renate are fantastic hostesses and guides and friends. I have been back home for about a day and I already miss the people, the place, the food, the colors, the sounds and the sights. If you stay at Suites Bolivar, you will remember it forever!

Great apartment; wonderful owner

Three generations stayed in this apartment for ten days in September, 2009. The location and view were fantastic. But those pale when compared with how very helpful, the owner was. She not only had a lot of good suggestions, she took a lot of time showing and taking us shopping. She literally went many extra miles for us.

It was my good fortune to stay at Bolivar Suites 11 May to 19 May 2009. I can describe these accommodations in one word LUXURIOUS. This is one of the finest accommodations I have ever experienced. The apartment is spacious, immaculately clean and decorated in excellent taste. The building is located perfectly for the traveller who wishes to explore the centro district and environs. The suite provides a refuge of calm and serenity in the hyper active environment of Mexico City. Petra gave us excellent recommendations on activities as well as taking us on a wonderful guided tour of the pyramids. 8 days in DF only scratches the surface so I will be back staying at the Bolivar Suites in 2010.

Last April (2008) we were treated to a wonderful experience by staying at Bolivar Suite. The apartment was well appointed, clean, wonderfully stocked, and with a spectacular view of the city. Petra was the perfect hostess and her guided tour to the Pyramids was a highlight of our stay. Bruce, Jack and Barb from Portland,Oregon.

We were in Mexico City in January for the World Family Conference and stayed at Bolivar Suites for the week. This was the best accommodations we have ever had! It definitely was beyond our expectations! Petra, your Fig Jam was great! We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Despite all the praise we’d read on this website, Bolivar Suites managed to exceed our expectations. Five friends stayed there over New Year’s for nearly a week and had a wonderful time. The space is large, comfortable and quiet -- a refuge in the heart of Mexico City’s crowded, chaotic Centro Historico. The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials and spacious enough for several of us to prepare dinner the nights we stayed in. The maid service -- which included daily replenishment of filtered water, fresh fruit, and other breakfast foods -- was excellent. Located on a safe, centrally-located block, the apartment has 24-hour security and is a short walk from numerous must-see attractions, including the Zocalo, Palacio Nacional, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and Alameda, as well as several good restaurants. Although our host, Petra Fischer, is clearly running a business, she has the nurturing instincts of a New England innkeeper. She thought of everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, providing advice on what to see, how to get there, and when to go. All of her recommendations were wonderful, from restaurants to museums to food markets and other sites. Petra arranged for her driver to take us on two day trips, to Teotihuacan and to Coyoacan and San Angel, saving us the arduous task of planning these trips on our own. She even gave us a small, parting gift and called for taxis to take us back to the airport. Our only regret was that we missed out on Ceci the housekeeper’s cooking class because she was away for the holidays.

Mexico City is such fun when you stay in the spacious and beautiful Bolivar Suite, right in the heart of the old city. Petra, the charming and highly educated multilingual owner will provide guidance on the museums, galleries, markets and happenings most of which are within walking distance. Don't miss the spectacular visit to Teotihuacan especially with Petra. Ceci, the housekeeper will ensure that you are comfortable and start the day with a fine breakfast. The humming bird in the greenery on the balcony and the views day and night over and beyond the city make this apartment an oasis in the bustling, dynamic city.

Fantastic Find! I have travelled to Mexico City many times and this was the first time that I did not stay with family. It was the most comfortable stay of all. Our hostess and her staff were extremely knowledgeable and accomodating. We felt like they were family by the time we left. They gave us the opportunity to see so much of Mexico in a very short period of time. The apartment was always clean and neat and the breakfast foods were fresh. It was amazingly quiet and the location extremely handy for everything from shopping and dining to sightseeing. Definitely an oasis in a charming but otherwise hectic city. WOW.... the pictures on VRBO are great but the experience as you enter Bolivar is exactly that...WOW! the view is awesome, the apartment is an immaculate & grand space, and the whole package is completed by the worlds best hostesses PETRA & CICI. As far as we are concerned, this is the best place to feel at home in Mexico City.

This is a unique find. Beautiful apartment, tastefully done, with large, luxurious living space. It's a quiet and welcome refuge in the heart of a great but frantic city. Petra is an incredible hostess. She's mastered the art of being constantly helpful, without ever being intrusive. And that's a rare and welcome quality. We've travelled enough and are fairly demanding, yet we can say without hesitation, this was a remarkably pleasant experience for us.

We just came back from a fabulous week in Mexico City at Bolivar Suites- the apartment is beautiful, the location perfect, the city facinating and the art and history spectacular. Best of all was getting to know Petra, the owner. She could not have been more helpful and it is because of her we had such a great time. She took us places, introduced us to others, made fabulous suggestions. When we left we felt we were leaving a good friend. We also loved Cici, Petra's cook, and spent a day with her in the markets and then cooking all that we had bought.

VISITOR REVIEWS - i-escape "A fantastic place to stay in Mexico City - very central, very stylish and a very knowledgable and friendly owner. I can't recommend this place highly enough." Jane, United Kingdom (19.09.06) "This was absolutely perfect and exactly what i was looking for. thank you so much to Petra and Cecelia for their wonderful taste and attention to every detail. i felt right at home and will definitely stay again when in Mexico City. " Blair, United States (25.05.05) "Unbelievably good. an unforgettable stay. Thank you, thank you, thank you. " Lucy, United Kingdom (07.03.05) "Petra (the owner) and her maid are WONDERFUL. They even repaired a rip in a seam of a pair of pants I needed to wear at very short notice. Fresh flowers in every room / a wonderful view/ elegant and understated furniture and artwork - what more can I say!? One is torn between telling the world about this wonderful jewel of an apartment and keeping it very quiet and secret so it will always be available when you want to return. To our disappointment we have already tried to book it again and have found it "sold out" so we will have to go back to a normal hotel for our next trip to Mexico City." John, United States (03.03.05) "Everything about our stay was excellent, including Petra who owns the apartments. Petra welcomed us with a tequila and provided us with plenty of advice and ideas about how to best spend our time there. Highly recommended! " Melissa, United Kingdom (25.01.05) "An absolute delight on every front. Peaceful, tasteful and comfortable, well-located and all supported by the very charming and generous Petra Fischer, the owner. Her advice and local knowledge ensured our stay in Mexico City included elements that we might never have imagined or experienced. This is THE place to stay in Mexico City." Loretta, Australia (05.10.04) "Often internet sites can be deceiving but not this time what we thought was too good to be true really was too good! The open space, decor, small touches (fresh flowers, chocolates on the bed, fresh fruit and bread, full sized kitchen) I could continue but I think you get the idea. The location was superb and within walking distance to the Zocalo, Bellas Artes and other great attractions and restaurants. The best part of the package was meeting Petra and Cecilia who were both warm, inviting, delightful and interesting. We traveled with my 15 month old son who enjoyed the apartment as much as we did.

VISITOR REVIEWS - i-escape "If you are looking for a spacious, very attactive place to stay with an exceptional view of Mexico City, in a convenient location, hosted by an attentive owner, then Bolivar Suites is for you! What a delightful experience, whether you are a first time visitor or a frequent traveler to Mexico." Kay, United States (29.07.04) "If you want comfort, but want to avoid the corporate environment of a large hotel, you could not ask for more than Bolivar Suites - a beautiful, spacious and wonderfully located apartment. Petra, the apartment's friendly owner, lives next door and is very happy to suggest places to eat and visit. Breakfast is self-catered in a well-equiped kitchen. Fruit, bread, coffee and croissants are supplied. Internet is available. Laundry service available too. Altogether, a very high standard of service that is relaxed. Highly recommended." Alex, United Kingdom (13.07.04) "We really valued the personal care from the owner, Petra Fischer who helped us make the most of our stay and feel much safer. Loved the views from the spacious appartment. Advice: don't wear shorts in Mexico city - it singles you out as a tourist. Take all the advice about personal security and be sensible but don't let all the scare stories worry you - we didn't have any safety problems in the 3 days we were there." Geoff, United Kingdom (14.06.04) "The flat was fantastic, and really made our stay in MC. It was huge, and had lovely views. The position was perfect for us, having only a couple of days there. Petra, the owner, was away at the time, but we were looked after by her assistant, Cecilia, who was brilliant. I would book there again if in MC without any doubt. A real find!" Cathy, United Kingdom (16.04.04) "10 out of 5--absolutely fantastic in every way - location, hostess, hospitality and beauty of apartment. Don't shy away from Mexico City. We found it safe and easy to travel about on the metro, taxis, trollies, and buses. There is plenty to see and do for a week." Martha, United States (08.01.04) "I would never consider staying any other place in Mexico city after staying at Bolivar Suites. The service was great! Thanks to Petra and Cece. As for the apartment, it's safe, beautiful, clean and relaxing and the view was magical. It's also centrally located to everything including the metro. I was amazed to see how well equipped the apartment is, all you need is your toothbrush, toothpaste and clothes. I give this p

Dear Petra, Aimee and I wanted to thank you for making our stay in Mexico City amongst our most memorable vacations. The accommodations were stellar. We cannot imagine a more desirable location, in the heart of the historic district, with the penthouse view of the Opera House, the National Museum, the Latin Tower, etc. The apartment itself was completely remodeled, with hardwood flooring, high ceilings and arches, affording an openness which tastefully combines contemporary and classic elements. Also, congratulations on bringing the views from the balcony inside the apartment through the arched ceiling-to-floor windows. For more on comfort, the bed was very comfortable and the linens were top of the line. The bathrooms were beyond expectation, especially for a city apartment. Ceci´s attention to daily cleaning made our stay particularly enjoyable, a service equivalent to five star resorts. While the foregoing are clearly sufficient, you go a step further. Your knowledge and assistance in coordinating our stay exceeded the best experience anyone would have with the premier concierge. What he/she could not do, however, is bring the personal touches as you have. As we sat with you, we genuinely felt that our friend who has lived here and knows the city inside out was advising us. We especially enjoyed the time we shared with you on our visit to Teotihuacan and dinner in Polanco. Finally, while we would like to forget Aimee´s incapacitating bout with food poisoning yesterday, I feel compelled to mention it. The reason is that it epitomizes your genuine concern about your guests. You immediately called your personal physician, provided the prescribed medications, even bringing her chicken broth and a hug. Come on, Petra, are you for real? While we would like to keep this secret to ourselves, we give you the highest recommendation possible and will reluctantly share our knowledge with our friends and families. All the best to you, Petra, and see you soon.Jacques-Henri Munro and Aimee Novak

I concur with a previous review; the pictures cannot do this place justice. Ms. Fischer has apparently thought of *everything*. It actually takes a some time to fully appreciate the accomodations, the convenience, the comfort and the attention to detail. Absolutely amazing. I travel heavily year-round, and I have not had an experience quite like this.

This apartment was actually better in person than the pictures showed. It was more comfortable than any apartment I've stayed in during my travels and the owner (Ms. Fischer) has a keen eye for detail. The location was very close to the major attractions, yet it remained a quiet place to lay your head at night. I absolutely recommend Bolivar Suites!
