Minutes from the beach, but worlds away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our house insists that you relax and enjoy the passage of time.
Built in the early 1900s, this house was one of the first structures at Stinson Beach (then known as Willow Camp). Built almost entirely of redwood, the house stands just above the center of town and commands spectacular views of earth, sea, and sky. Sit on the great porch and read, chat, or just watch the waves roll in.
Recently remodeled, you'll find that comfort and charm are the key components of this handsome four-bedroom home. Owned by the same family since 1948, there are many civilizing touches to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Enjoy the modern kitchen or sit in the cozy living area by the original stone fireplace. There's plenty of room to spread out and settle in for a pleasant stay.

Old time charm and sweeping views

We chose this home for a holiday getaway and family visit. It was very nice. The house exuded historic charm. The views are great, beach and town access was easy. There was plenty of room for a family with teenagers. A modern, well laid out and well equipped kitchen made family dinners simple. The owner was friendly and easy to work with. The house is very well priced for the number of guests it accommodates. Lightening around house access is spotty so if you are arriving after dark, make sure to bring a flash light. All in all, a special spot. We have recommended this spot to friends and family. We'll be back.

What a WONDERFUL house!! We spent a week at this beautiful older home. The pictures do not do this house justice...we had plenty of room for eight! There's plenty of room to move around & the side porch is GREAT!! We will be sure to look up the "House On The Hill" if we ever come back to Stinson Beach!

This was our first time in any VRBO! What a treat! We decided to go on a last minute getaway and lucky for us, the owners accomodated us! Along with our twin 7 year old boys, we brought our mom and aunt. I recommend arriving while still light so that you get a lay of the land. We arrived around 10pm and had to walk up a dirt path in the dark. Luckily, the owners warned us to bring flashlights. it was such a comfortable stay. There's a sitting room with a tv that you walk through to get to two bedrooms. We stayed in the two bedrooms with our boys. My aunt and mom each had their own room. In the main room, there are several comfy couches and they are arranged so you could have two different conversations going on. We never felt like we were on top of each other. Although others spent a lot of time on the large porch, we weren't able to. A huge amount of wasps/bees had created a hive in the side of the porch and were swarming constantly. We loved the character of house and it was a short walk down the hill to the market, restaurants and beach. Definitely looking forward to booking another stay next year -- this time with more notice!

I've wanted to spend some time at Stinson Beach for a long time and since a pivotal birthday was approaching, this was the time. I can't believe our luck with this house! It's spacious; it's charming; it has everything you need. The deck is gorgeous but the outdoor sunny space in back was ideal as well. The beds and bedrooms were incredibly comfortable. Even better, the house had history and charm. It is not your typical "beach" vacation rental. I was there with family and friends. It was roomy (and accommodated everyone perfectly) and cozy at the same time. And close to anything you need at Stinson Beach. I hope to return again soon and would recommend this to anyone and everyone. The owner was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with as well. I can't say enough...

Our family stayed here for New Year's weekend and we were entirely pleased and delighted with this charming old home with a contemporary kitchen. The location offers a fine view of the beach and is an easy walk to the grocery store. Yet it is quiet and away from the hubbub of the main street. There is plenty of room and the home is clean and well-kept. Old books and artifacts line the walls and the old wooden floors creak a little under your feet, adding to a sense of rustic comfort. True, the photos don't do it justice. It's a gem and we would return in a minute. The owners were very helpful and responsive.

We stayed at the house over Memorial Day weekend. We were going to a wedding in Bolinas, and this house was very convenient. The location is perfect... a great view of the ocean, and a 3 minute walk from the beach. Also a short walk to the local grocery store (it's expensive... bring food and beverages from home if you can). There are 4 good sized bedrooms, and 2 full baths. We had eight people staying, and everyone had their own space. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is modern, with everything you need. The best feature of the house is the porch... as long as the weather is nice, it's where you'll spend most of your time. We had no complaints, and the owner was very accommodating and easy to work with. We highly recommend this house!

Our family (ranging in age from 7 months to 67 years old) spent 4 nights here and had an amazing time hanging out and having fun. The house is charming and comfortable throughout, although we spent most of our time on the porch, which has fantastic views. The newly-remodeled kitchen was so inviting that we didn't even visit the Parkside Cafe, which is a favorite. We hiked, beachcombed, kayaked, and relaxed. This vacation was a highlight of our summer! We want to return next year!

This is a very nice and classic home with fantastic ocean views. Stairs and a steep winding trail make it the equivalent of a 6 story walk up just to get from the road to the front door. It's quite a haul to get belongings and groceries moved in and out. In the winter, the combination of fireplace, space heaters, and some baseboard heaters frequently left us either hot or cold and require frequent monitoring and adjusting. The VRBO photos really undersell the livability and grandeur of the living areas and balcony. It's quite a nice home!
