  One of the best features of this property is the access to the beach. The second best feature is the king size bed. We slept peacefully in it, probably the overall best bed we have ever slept in. My husband enjoyed stargazing on the second deck. The hot tub felt wonderful after spending time at the beach. Very convenient for shopping and also for heading out to tour the outer banks.

  This house was an absolutely FANTASTIC choice for our OBX vacation!! It is perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to the beach. It was also a short/easy drive to everything in Duck (be sure to pick up some fresh seafood!). The house was exactly as described and was perfectly equipped for our group. Very spacious, plenty of pots/pans, an outstanding hot tub, many wonderful decks (perfect for stargazing), an awesome screened in patio with a large picnic table (great for hosting a southern-style low country boil!), and many charming details - like the hand painted murals! It was truly ideal. The beach itself was very clean and blissfully uncrowded - even on labor day! We can't wait to come back again this summer! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful house with us!

  The house was just as described and very well stocked (every kitchen tool you could need, movies, games, etc). The walk to the beach is short and doesn't involve dealing with traffic. The beach is amazing - quiet, just a few families at any time... We also saw dolphins every day! The house is near Duck which has some great restaurants and a lovely boardwalk. The owners were quick to respond, helpful and friendly. This was our first vrbo experience and it went off without a hitch.

  The property was exceptionally clean, and the kitchen supplies were extremely well stocked. We were actually very pleasantly surprized. The property description was acurate in every detail. The owner always responded to my inquiries promptly and provided the info we needed. We would defintely recommend this rental property to others; we hope to stay at this property again.

• PERFECT GETAWAY!!!!!!

  PERFECT GETAWAY from booking to arriving there and our stay!!! Everything was thoroughly explained on the web-site and in the rental agreement. No hidden costs, DOG friendly, cozy/comfortable home, and lots of great memories were made here! Jean and Eric have an amazing comfortable vacation rental that "feels" like home. From the moment we drove up the driveway I knew this was going to be a great vacation. When we went inside we were blown away at how clean, cozy and comfy the ENTIRE place was! It was the perfect size home for us & our 2 lil dogs. There is no fenced yard, however put a leash on your pups and take them walking around the block or to the beach! (FYI: Dogs are not allowed on the Southern Shores beach from May-September, there are signs posted, but you can take them to the beaches in Duck!) This place is NOT handicap accessible due to the amount of stairs there are. The kitchen is well stocked w/ dishes, utensils, ice trays and appliances. For a small fee you can rent towels, bed linens etc. There's also a company that will stock the fridge for you, or you can even hire a chef to prepare your meals for you at the house. We didn't do that, however we did bring groceries! There is a Harris Teeter, Walmart, Food Lion a couple miles from the house and the town of Duck is a VERY short drive! I loved the fact that rentals begin on a Friday (which was great as there was NO traffic whatsoever!) The beaches weren't crowded in fact we were the ONLY ones occupying the beach, so we flew our kites and rode the bikes provided as well as laid out :) Afterwards head back to the house and enjoy the hot tub, play board games (a ton provided), read a book on one of the decks, or do the tourist thing. Whatever you choose to do, this place was a perfect get away from the "touristy" crowds. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, time at the beach, yet feel like you're in the woods, this place is for you. The breeze that came through the windows and back porch was so relaxing at the end of the day....you will NOT regret staying here :) Nice neighbors too!! And the BEST seafood buffet is at Captain George's ;)
