The sandy beaches of Lake Tahoe are a mile away and the highly popular NorthStar Ski Resort is 10 minutes door to door. There are many wonderful hiking and biking opportunities nearby – several where you can embark from straight outside the property. Tahoe Sol is a great vacation home whether a reunion, a retreat with friends, or just a weekend respite for your family. For your next vacation – consider Tahoe Sol as the perfect place to soak up the sun, rejuvenate the spirit and to find peace and serenity from the stresses of daily life.
Tahoe Sol is situated in a quiet, highly regarded area of Kings Beach called Kingwood Estates.
Built within the last 10 years, it is a nice blend of classic lodge cabin feel outside, yet filled with modern amenities and comforts inside.
Walk onto our front porch which overlooks a beautifully landscaped yard that backs up to open space and forest lands beyond. In the Fall, Spring and Summer this is an idyllic setting to both unwind and play. Kick back in a hammock placed amidst a semi-circle of aspen trees, imbibe a cool refreshing drink on the flagstone patio, gather around a fire and roast marshmallows with friends and family just under the forest canopy. Kids will enjoy stretching their imaginations out on the fort/play structure and exploring the surrounding woods and nearby seasonal creek. In the Winter, there is plenty of room for snow play, sledding and starting off on a snowshoe adventure right out the front steps!
Open the front door and you are in our foyer where you can kick off your boots and shoes, and hang your coats and snow gear and head up the staircase to the Great Room. There you will find a light, airy, spacious room with high ceilings and many windows overlooking the lawn and greenery of the forest. The Great Room includes a well-appointed gourmet kitchen with high-end stainless steel appliances and counter bar that is open to the dining and living areas. The living and dining areas are comfortable, inviting spaces with ample seating and decorated in timeless mission/arts and crafts style. There is seating for 8 at the dining table, 4 at the breakfast bar and an option to add a second dining table for up to 6 more people if needed. Off the Great Room living area is a deck with a gas grill where you can dine al fresco and unwind in a deluxe hot tub under beautiful starry skies.
Upstairs you will find two of the four bedrooms Tahoe Sol has to offer. The first is a luxurious master suite with a king bed and ensuite bath that includes a spa bathtub and separate steam shower. The other is a smaller room designed to be flexible for a wide range of needs. A queen-size Murphy wall bed turns this into a comfortable 4th bedroom. Alternatively we have used it as a nursery, an upstairs playroom for children– and for those who absolutely must bring their work with them – a great home office. A half-bath and full laundry off the kitchen completes the upstairs.
Downstairs off the foyer, you enter our family/media room – a great secondary space for kids and adults alike to play games, watch tv and just hang out. The sofa in this room converts to a queen-sized bed for additional sleeping options. Downstairs are two additional bedrooms. The first bedroom off the family room has a king size bed. The second bedroom is set up to accommodate two XL twin beds with twin trundles that can be set up in multiple configurations- from a generous king-size bed, to up to four separate twin beds. This second bedroom has a small private deck overlooking the lawn and forest. A full bathroom services the downstairs space.
There is good off-street parking – with two spaces inside the attached garage as well as 3-5 spaces on the driveway and adjacent gravel area. Tahoe Sol offers a bonus feature in the winter, providing a radiant heated driveway that minimizes ice and reduces the need for heavy snow shoveling!
Tahoe Sol is a great value for those who are seeking touches of luxury and comfort that you might find at a high-end resort. The décor is tasteful, soothing, with finishes to satisfy any discerning traveler seeking a sophisticated, yet comfortable respite. All sheets, towels and linens are hotel-quality with down or down alternative pillows and comforters. There are flat-screen TV’s with cable in the upstairs and downstairs living areas and master bedroom suite and free wi-fi internet throughout.
Tahoe Sol is set up to cater to families with young children. The home is generally childproof and relatively free of sharp edges and breakables. PacknPlays, baby gates, high chairs, toys for kids of all ages are available to our guests. No need to bring all that extra gear.

Nine adults and 3 kids enjoyed a fabulous time at this home.....loved having beach towels and plastic-ware (even plastic wine goblets) for outdoor use. Very clean house, dishwasher, washer/dryer, toys, books, dvds, music, views, comfy rooms, extra blankets, pillows.....it had it all! A lot of thought has been put into this vacation home so that guests have all the things they need, as well as instructions and labeled cupboard shelves for returning dishes. When we did have one problem with the oven, the owner was accessible and helpful. Appliances in abundance, minus a large pancake griddle, lots of dishes, pans, baking items, etc. Truly wonderful to be able to just walk in with your food and you're "there"! We enjoyed the location....easy drive to the Truckee River for floating, Mt. Rose for a long hike, Sandy Cove Beach for protected water and kayaking, science centers, and Sugar Pine SP for hiking and the mansion tour. Not to mention 5 min. from Safeway and Kings Beach fun!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were blown away by the comforts of home when we arrived. Not only is it beautiful, but it is stocked with everything you could ever need and more! We have two small children and we would have left half of the items at home had we known about all of the toys available for babies, toddlers and even older children. The hot tub, lawn area, play structure and deck were fabulous. We really didn't need to leave the house, everything we needed was at our fingertips! We will definitely be renting again in the near future!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Our family had the best Easter weekend here. The photos do not do the place justice. We were overwhelmed with the amount of amenities included with the stay. We really didn't need to bring as much as we did. Very close to stores and the casinos! We had a wonderful time during our second stay at Tahoe Sol this year. The house is wonderfully set up for spending time with family and friends in the great room while cooking gourmet meals in the kitchen. If you have small kids, it is great to have a place that is completely equipped for their enjoyment. And the owner, as always, is very helpful and does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The description and pictures of this home are very accurate. This home was very comfortable for our family vacation this fall. We had 5 adults and 3 children and our family dog. The Tahoe Sol was very clean and well maintained, tastefully decorated and furnished. The home is very centrally located to most activities on the North shore of the lake. We have been vacationing in Tahoe for about 19 years and I can say this home was hands down the best stocked home EVER. Little things that you don't realize can make such a difference to your stay, things like spices, condiments, tupperware, saran wrap, beach towels, beach chairs, beach toys, great pans and accessories, ect. ect... Our grandchildren LOVED the outdoor play area. Just a note that the neighbor's 3 large dogs are very friendly, so we had some extra doggie clean-up. :) Highly recommend this home!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our whole family loved staying at Tahoe Sol, it is a very special place. With 5 children and 6 adults we never felt crowded. The upstairs Great Room with the adjoining dining and kitchen accomodated all of us. The high ceiling really made it feel spacious. Everyone loved the views out from the house into the snowy woods. We imagine it would be just as beautiful in the summer. The kitchen facilities and dining area was terrific. How wonderful to have space for our whole family to sit comfortably together at the table. I especially appreciated that there were spices in the cupboard and catsup in the refrigerator, as opposed to other places we've stayed where there were only 2 packets of sugar!! All of us appreciated the well marked cabinets in the kitchen which made it so easy to put dishes and cookware away. We also loved the plasticware from IKEA for all of the children. We also appreciated the back yard with the playhouse. Our grandchildren tromped through the snow and had a great time climbing and throwing snowballs at each other in and around the whole back yard even with almost 2 feet of snow. The bedrooms were especially comfortable with the down comforters and duvets to snuggle into at night. Having extra towels for the hot tub, as well as soft towels in the bathroom was another plus. A washing machine and dryer were especially important for us with small children needing fresh clothes. There were helpful touches everywhere; wipes, paper towels, ziplock bags, Saranwrap...every possible need was attended to...hair dryer in the bathroom. Terrific!! We felt comfortably at home and loved it. The owners of this house were great about emailing us to let us know about snow conditions for our drive up and sent us all the information we needed to know about the house. They answered all the questions we had and were able to accomodate a change we needed to make with our reservation dates. Everything was clean and fresh. The photos and description listed on VRBO was accurate and helped us to choose this home for a Christmas stay. They even put up a Christmas tree and decorations for our arrival. A real convenience is the Safeway store less than 5 minutes away and skiing at Northstar, less than 20 minutes away. Lake Tahoe is in viewing distance and across the street from Safeway. So convenient! Tahoe City and Truckee are maybe 20-25 minutes away in different directions.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at Tahoe Sol property in King's Beach. We were 7 adults and 2 children and there were room for us all. The description and photos on VRBO are accurate regarding the property. The owners are very nice and give us all the information we needed to organise our stay well in advance, and especially pertinent advices of what to do with young kids. The house was perfectly cleaned and well-maintained. The kids loved the climbing frame whereas the adults enjoyed the external hot tub after hiking around Lake Tahoe. I would definitively recommand it to anybody who wants to spend a relaxing vacation in a lovely house, well-situated in a quiet area but with restaurants and supermarket easily accessible (5min by car).Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Tahoe Sol. The property is in fantastic condition and has every amenity you can imagine. We really felt 'at home' because the house is as we would keep it if it were our own: video games for the kids, karaoke for the adults, the spa for everyone, the playset, firepit and forest with walking trails right in the backyard, and of course there's Lake Tahoe just down the road! Tahoe Sol had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation, and we're hoping to be back next year!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About the owner: Tahoe Sol is co-owned by two siblings – Shar and Kimia– along with their respective spouses. Shar and his wife Kim are professionals living in the Bay Area with two young sons. Shar is formerly executive director of SEEDS, a small nonprofit providing community-based conflict resolution and restorative justice programs and services in the East Bay and now works as a consultant. Kim works for Kaiser Permanente helping to design and develop Kaiser’s Internal Web Portal. Kimia and her husband Matt divide their time between Las Vegas and San Diego and have twin toddlers – a boy and a girl. They are entrepreneurs/investors in various enterprises having recently opened up CRUST - a delectable pizzeria and wine bar in the San Diego area as well as maintaining active investments in gaming, film and theater production and real estate. While they all enjoy divergent interest in hobbies, Lake Tahoe offers up something for everyone. Downhill skiing and water sports for Shar. Cross-country skiing and nature hikes for Kim. Sunny beaches, quality spas and restaurants for Kimia. Casinos and gaming opportunities nearby for Matt who has friends and colleagues in the industry. The kids enjoy exploring the woods, hunting for bugs, watching out for bears and other wildlife, playing with the local neighborhood dogs, inventing new games, swimming at the lake, and just spending time with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and family friends old and new!
Why the Owner Chose Kings Beach:
Drawing from their fond childhood memories, where Shar and Kimia’s family would go on annual snow trips to in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California, they have been renting vacation properties in North Lake Tahoe area during the winter sharing many wonderful experiences with friends and family for over 20 years.
When the opportunity arose to invest in a vacation property of their own, North Lake Tahoe was the obvious choice, not only for the plethora of ski resorts and winter snow activities so close by – but for everything the region has to offer in every season of the year.
North Lake Tahoe is a convenient drive from the Bay Area and an easy flight from Las Vegas or Southern California with Reno Airport only 40 minutes away. There is even great access by train or bus from nearby Truckee!
In the short time they have owned Tahoe Sol, they have already had many great new adventures and created terrific family memories – celebrating milestone birthdays, taking whitewater rafting trips on the Truckee River, playing bocce and enjoying local wines at a nearby tasting room – and spending many warm summer days and nights relaxing out on the patio or deck, in the hot tub or down at the beach!

After staying in many wonderful vacation rentals and researching many properties when we decided to invest in Lake Tahoe, we believe that Tahoe Sol's landscaped yard with lawn, patio and play structure is a relatively rare and wonderful feature - particularly in the Summer and Fall- that sets it apart from many properties in the area at that cost/value point. Great for small weddings, reunions, barbeques, etc. The heated driveway also has kept shoveling snow to a minimum in the winter :)
