My husband and I had a beautiful week in Pine we had another couple come with us all the way from Maine! The house was beautiful a very private location. We especially loved the outdoor fire pit. We have been to Pine before to visit our daughter, this by far was the loveliest place we have stayed in. Sherry was a great hostess! and she makes a mean Chili too! Thanks Annemarie we can't wait to come back! it was a beautiful week, never have I seen a sky so blue. We would highly recommend.

What a lovely place!
What a lovely place!
I took my mother away for the weekend to beat the heat from the valley. What a lovely place. Sweet little vignettes everywhere. A sun room, an office, a beautiful upstairs deck overlooking the mountains, great kitchen, living room comfortably furnished with a fireplace. all on main floor. Downstairs basement opens out to lovely back yard,Picked an apple and watched the quail, squirrels and birds enjoy the sunflower seeds we put in the feeder. Upstairs sitting room with recliners and large screen TV were fabulous in the evening. Private baths with each bedroom was fabulous. We loved the privacy and peaceful surroundings. Not to mention 20 degrees cooler. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home.

"FOUR PAWS UP" RATING FROM CINNAMON & STEWIE
"FOUR PAWS UP" RATING FROM CINNAMON & STEWIE
Another "short" but great time at Pine Mountain accompianed by my two dogs-Cinnamon -a white female miniature poodle, AKA "Miss Poodle USA" and Stewie-a Border Collie mix, AKA "A Dog Named Stew". As always the setting was so relaxing for me with the added bonus of deer sighted nearby evoking the "herder" instinct in Stewie. It was charming to watch the interaction of them; the deer weren't afraid and approached Stewie to say, "Howdy Neighbor" much to his amazement. Cool temps and a star filled night soothed my spirit that was scorched by the Tucson heat. The upper back deck is perfect for relaxing in the evening and a great spot for breakfast or sipping a cup of coffee or tea. My "Four Footed Friends" voted Pine Mountain a "Four Paws Up" location for everyone. Can't wait to go back again soon!

"THE GREAT ESCAPE"
"THE GREAT ESCAPE"
What a great getaway from the noise, heat, traffic and congestion of Metro Tucson; well worth the long drive to relax among the tall cool pines and feel the mountain breezes punctuated by the elk sounding off and the deer walking by the property considerately stopping long enough to be photographed. The house is a charming 3 level dwelling; clean, open, nicely furnished and inviting to relax and enjoy the spectacular views from the front porch or rear deck or patio or just sit in front of a crackling fire and enjoy company and converstation. Each level has interesting furnshings that lend a country charm to the setting. Look forward to my next visit!

A GREAT Getaway!
A GREAT Getaway!
This was my first time to stay at Pine Mountain but it won't be my last. It was a very enjoyable experience to spend time in the cool pine country in a nicely furnished house with awesome views and as an added bonus elk and deer were seen "trotting" by the property. The house was open, airy, clean and furnished nicely with many unique pieces to add to it's country charm. Definitely worth the drive from Tucson to relax in nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest.

What a great vacation!
What a great vacation!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful retreat. My only complaint was that I could not stay long enough to further enjoy the premises. Each room of the home was unique and had to be enjoyed. Everything was fantastic and was as pictured in the ad. I spent each morning with my coffee on the rear deck enjoying the deer, rabbits and many birds. When everyone else woke up, we visited the Tonto Natural Bridge, Strawberry goat farm, Woods Canyon lake and drove the Mogollon Rim Road, all located within a convenient drive of the home. If you stay here, don't miss breakfast at the Early Bird in Pine. There are also many dinner destinations in Payson, which was an enjoyable short ride down the road from Pine. Sheri was a fantastic hostess. She made sure everything was in order upon our arrival and gave us an effective tour of the home as well as some ideas of things to enjoy while there. All I can say is.......peaceful, comfortable, clean, beautiful. We'll be back! Thank you for a great experience.

"Thank you for a most delightful nature retreat. the charm of a country village with its rustic, but modern and very comfortable conveniences, the pure air, the views from your bedrooms, living room, kitchen and large relaxing terrace were breathtaking. The elegant decor along with personal art that is beautiful, the antiques and the plush carpeting and hardwood floors and luxurious cushions and good beds made my viewing of the movie in bed and sleep totally restful. The shower and quick hot water in large ample bathroom were made for a queen and/or a king. and the dining room and spotless well-equipped kitchen. The sunrise and sunset views and the birds calls in the mornings engaged my sensual being. --- in short, I LOVED my stay away from the (hectic) city ! I want to return very soon." About the owner: I have had a diverse past. i enjoyed working as Social Director at a 5* Resort in Scottsdale, Storytelling, Watercolor painting, Photography, Travel Writing, Author of several books, Presenter of Personal Development Programs, Poetry writing, backpacking, hiking, camping, archaeology, I have had a LOVE-AFFAIR with the Rim Country since early 80s. I built my first home in Pine in early 80s. I feel at home best in our mountains. Nature has a wonderful way of putting us in touch with what is important and lasting! Love people and have been in the people-helping business since I was second oldest of eleven children --helping with brothers and sisters while growing up in Arizona. Received my universitiy degrees in Arizona, and working in real estate, catering, writing for newspapers, owning and oeprating my own Bed and Breakfast business, certifications for natural healing modalities, interested in how we can make our world better - one person at a time. I love writing about the goodness and courage that we human beings possess and actualize every day. I look for the good in others.
Why the Owner Chose Pine:
We have always loved the Rim Country and Amazing Arizona. When I sold my Bed and Breakfast home in Pine, I still wanted to look for something that would be more suitable for our enjoyment. For a few years I did not have a home in Pine, but my heart is always in these mountains. So, finally, found a new home overlooking the Rim, views of the forest---that was perfect and I enjoy sharing it with my family, friends and new guests, who often become friends!! This area of the rim country is always available for fun outdoor activities or some antiquing, perhaps music, or a festival. I love just getting away from the noisy and bustling city of the Valley; the clean cool pure air and scenery are a gift for healing and happy memories. I love discovering all the changing seasons and the wildlife that are so native to this area and whether I am just walking with my dog on a path or sitting with friends at a tasty restaurant or perhaps listening to the live music in the town of Pine, I can relax more than I can in the city. Try it for yourself! I would love to meet you and introduce you to our little part of heaven. our slogan is come as guests, leave as friends, return as family!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When I am at our Pine Mountain home, I am often working on it! However it is labor of love and the scenery, clean air, loverly natural setting all make it fun! I love listening to the sounds of nature, looking at our visiting elk and deer, bunnies and birds and other forest creatures. Hiking and exploring the many trails, lakes, mountains in our area is always a treat. Sharing time with good friends (that I don't see in the city as our lives are very busy) makes it a memorable getaway time. Whether we are playing some of the many games, pulling a book from our library, cooking up a delicious meal, sitting our on our second story deck, attending the many town activities and festivals, simply swinging in a hammock chair or watching the fire in a fireplace or outdoors firepit, the days slip easily into nights -- ah, the perfect time to sit and actually see the magnificient starstudded skies from our back open deck. Whatever the season, there are plenty of activities to be in nature, or cuddle up inside and enjoy leisure time and the quietness. It is such a peaceful and pleasant environment that restores my body and soul! Surrounded by natural beauty gifts me with the serenity that my soul craves. Come enjoy this mountain magic and restore your being.
