This place was wonderful. It is a beautiful cabin with great views located in a peaceful neighborhood. It is awesome to find a place where we can vacation with all of our 4-legged kids. We took our dogs and our horses for a 5-day trip. The round pen, which is constructed of metal panels, is very safe for the horses. Though it does not have a shelter, it is surrounded by tall trees. We enjoyed hiking and horseback riding during our vacation. The trails are amazing. We would definitely recommend this place. We plan to reserve this place again in late summer or early fall. Can't wait to go back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our party of two couples and three dogs found plenty to do and enjoy during our 2012 Thanksgiving holiday stay. The hiking trails, which are right outside the front door, led us to grand views and peaceful contemplation of life’s wonderful offerings. Many relaxing cups of coffee were enjoyed on the cabin’s large deck with more beautiful views of Colorado’s wonderful landscape. The cozy lived in feel of the cabin and warmth of the gas heating stove encouraged long comfortable entertaining nights while the kitchen was perfect for preparing a Thanksgiving feast. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone seeking respite from their daily routines.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Less than 1.5 hours from Fort Collins or 2.5 hours from Denver Int. Airport this was an easy scenic drive to our get-away. No problem finding it with our GPS. The house was very clean, beautiful and comfortable, with two cushy sleep number beds. The kids bunk bed room had some nice toys and we felt the deck was a safe place for the kids to play because we could see them through all of those great windows. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. We did have to search for the internet connection (in the main bedroom downstairs) and would like to see a small printer added. It would be nice to be able to print area maps and online airport check in tickets out before leaving. We could not find the markers leading to Bear Meadows trail system, but did find plenty of hiking in the area. We also found several nice places to fish. The favorite was Dowdy Lake. We would highly recommend this property!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The accommodations were 5 star. The location is very secluded. There are unlimited areas for hiking. The night sky was amazing. Though the weekend was hot, the High Park fire caused some concerns and highway 74E was closed due to the fire, I would rate my weekend stay great. The cabin provides all you need. Just bring your food, personal items and clothing and your set for a wonderful experience. I'll come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed at TuPa the last weekend of January, 2011. It was a spur of the moment decision, we were looking to get away from it all...boy was this the perfect place for that. The owner is very good in his online description of this cabin, and the photos are accurate. However the description really doesn't give a true feel to the "end of the world" experience one gets here. Off a Crystal Lakes side road, up a switchback, turn and go to the end of a deserted cul-de-sac, finally up a long driveway. No visually apparent neighbors. Stars that really "pop" at night. TuPa really does have that woodsy cabin feeling...knotty pine ceilings...master bedroom in the upstairs loft, overlooking the great room. A functional, propane run, glass door fireplace/stove that is a great heating source. Whimsical cabin decor throughout. Yet this place still had the creature comforts of home, nice bright clean bathrooms, a good satellite TV system that the wind didn't seem to bother. Not too far for weekend dining options in Beaver Meadows or the Crystal Lakes Association Restaurant ( very friendly). Good onsite management..the local contact even met us at the Pot Belly in Red Feather, and led us ( in the dark) up the final few miles to the cabin. Our four wheel drive was nice to have going up that snowy driveway. I can't believe no one before us has reviewed this place, we would easily stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Nancy and Gary James live in Fort Collins, CO and enjoy the outdoors, love riding horses, hiking and time with family and friends. Nancy is retired nurse and spends free time creating knit and sewing designs. Gary is still working in the software industry and loves to play guitar.
Why the Owner Chose Red Feather Lakes:
After searching much of Red Feather and Crystal Lakes we found TuPa retreat and fell in love with the location. Only 1 hour out of Fort Collins we felt that the property would be a great investment and retreat for us. After owning the property for 2 years we decided to start renting and then a year after that we put the listing in VBRO on October 17, 2011.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love to unwind at the retreat and enjoy the outdoors. We sometimes hike the area with our dogs or rid our horses, or just enjoy the down time in the mountains.
