We came up from Longmont for the weekend to celebrate a wedding anniversary and found the Lakota Cabin to be very charming and cozy. We had no issues with any of the facilities and thoroughly enjoyed a very quiet, private weekend. Thank you so much for all that you do to make Lakota Cabin so inviting and comfortable. We can't wait to stay there again and we will of course refer you to our friends.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

This cabin was PERFECT for our first family vacation. We were so impressed with how homey it is and all the extras that were provided. The hot tub was enjoyed by everyone but especially our 4 year old. I also love the washer and dryer--less dirty clothes to take home. The weather was awesome and the deer visited us every night. We can't wait to come gack next year!!!! Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We came to Estes Park to celebrate our 1st anniversary. We really loved the cabin and how close it is to everything. During our stay we got to see several elk and even got to hear them bugle - it was a great experience. We also enjoyed the hot tub - what a nice thing to come back to at the end of the day. On our last night we were on the back deck and there were about a dozen elk (2 bulls) right in the back yard! We will be back again to stay here next year.Did you find this review helpful? We enjoyed our stay at the Lakota Cabin. We felt at home in the well-furnished and beautifully-decorated cabin. Plenty of wildlife right outside the windows, the stars were awesome, and the hot tub was most relaxing!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rating:5 star(s) Review: I was lucky enough to have picked the wonderful Lakota Cabin. This cabin if full of rustic charm and it surrounded by amazing neighbors who are friendly and share where the best sights in Estes Park are. At Mary's Lake which is just about a 1/2 mile away we were able to see the local elk take a little swim at dusk. I would definitely stay at Lakota again and hopefully for much longer next time. Estes Park Property Management thanks for the memories and just wanted to give you kudos on how clean the cabin was!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family recently stayed at the Lakota Cabin in Estes Park, Co during the rut of the Elk. During our stay at the cabin we saw several bull elk, deer including bucks, even a bear on the property. We were able to be close to town and and have the convince of home, this location also has a hot tub do we were able to relax after a long day of fun filled activities in town. We would highly recommend the location to anyone who is wanting to have the experience of a 5 star hotel with a home like touch and a lot better bang for your buck. Also less then quarter mile from the cabin is a lake you can fish and catch dinner, and bring it home and cook on the grill. This cabin has it all we will definitely be back and share this location with others. We love the Lakota Cabin our new home away from home.Did you find this review helpful? When we opened the door to the cabin my first thought was that the place was adorable. The bedrooms were larger than I had expected and easily fit pac-n-plays in each room (2 families traveling with babies). The hot tub was great, especially since we were there in the winter. The cabin had everything we needed so really no complaints. Then we turned on the water and the sulfer smell was really strong. There was a book about the property in the cabin that explained the smell was from high iron content in the well water, and that the water was perfectly safe to drink (which we did). I would say this was an inconvenience for us but not a show stopper. HOWEVER, if I was pregnant or otherwise sensitive to smells this could easily have been a big problem. That might be why the place is so cheep. Again, overall we really loved it and I would totally stay here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Last summer the owner installed a whole-house water treatment system which has taken care of the "weird" water at the cabin. There have not been any further issues with the smell or taste of the water. Thank you for the comments and we will work hard to ensure every guests stay is enjoyable.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: I (Lori Greening) first came in Colorado in 1978 and vowed to move back. At age 50 my dream came true but it wasn't until 2009, that I bought this cabin. The living room was first built in 1925, the remainder of the cabin additions came much later. When I purchased the cabin, it needed a complete remodeling. Thanks to my husband and children who did the majority of the interior work, I ended up with a place that I can call my own, and share with visitors!
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park:
Estes Park is a great outdoor town near to Rocky Mountain National Park, and only 1.5 hours from Denver.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Come stay where the elk and deer roam the yard, you can hear coyotes howl, and hummingbirds visit in the summer!
