The house is as described, with a few things that are not apparent from the photos. The 2nd bath is off the kitchen, which is nice if you are downstairs. The 3 bedrooms are upstairs, with 2 having doors into the bathroom. The house is drafty, but there are doors off the entry ways that you can keep closed off to the rest of the house. It was very clean and comfortable. Great kitchen. Owners checked with us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. We would stay again

What a treat to stay in such a neat old house - so much character and charm, and yet very well kept, clean and cozy! I loved the old-style woodwork around the door frames and windows, and the cheerful colors throughout. As a frequent business traveler, this place was such a relief from the boring beige bedrooms and generic art of every hotel chain in the country. The broadband internet and computer access was extremely helpful too. The owners clearly love and take good care of this property, and the cookies were SOOO GOOOOD (yes, I can be bribed!). :) I'm not familiar with radiators but the owners showed me how to adjust them - it is really simple - I wonder if the other reviewer didn't know how to use the one in the bathroom? Anyway, we had a great experience and can't recommend this place enough. I hope we get to return in the summertime so we can properly enjoy the garden and patio - it looked beautiful, but alas, Seattle is a bit damp right now.

Loved the location and the views from this property; the patio and sun room were delightful and the size of the bedrooms were generous. Having a washer and dryer in the house was great and there was a good selection of cooking equipment, dishes, and glassware. Not so delightful were the levels of cleanliness, comfort, and convenience. As part of the rental agreement, you, the renter, must pay the owner a cleaning fee at the end of your rental. This fee certainly begs the question as to why this particular cost item should be borne by the renter rather than the owner, but at least one would hope that the payment of such a fee would assure a clean facility. It does not. If you are expecting hotel levels of cleanliness, you will be very disappointed. The toilet area and shower were particularly dirty. Even the kitchen had crumbs on the counter. Regarding convenience, please be aware that to access a bathroom, persons occupying one of the house's bedrooms must either barge through one of the other bedrooms, or trek down the very steep stairs to access the bathroom off the kitchen--a bathroom that doesn't have a shower. Either alternative is not a welcome prospect in the middle of the night. There were plenty of towels available, but not many places to put them to dry once they had been used. There is no place to hang a bathrobe in the bathroom while you are taking a shower, either. We stayed in the house during a period of relatively mild weather, and the heat in the main bathroom was plainly inadequate. I can imagine that during cold weather, taking a shower there will be a exercise in extreme fortitude. Much of the furnishings are antiques, and if you are a fan of Victoriana, you might like the place a lot more than I did. As for me, I wished many times that I had chosen to stay someplace else.

Owner response: I was troubled to read your review. Before your arrival other members of your party who lived in Seattle dropped by to look the house over. I showed them around and their comments about the house were both positive and enthusiastic. They were happy that we had left vases of fresh flowers out and homemade cookies on the counter with a couple bottles of wine. While I was chatting with them, they unwrapped and ate some of the cookies which I think must have been the cause of crumbs on the counter. As to your comments about the bathroom, after you left we noticed that one of the skylights in the bathroom had been opened. The bathroom heats up really well but having the skylight open would have cooled the room down considerably. The upstairs bathroom, indeed, is located between 2 of the bedrooms. Guests in the third bedroom either use the downstairs bath or knock and go through one of the 2 bedrooms to get to the upstairs bath. We mention this arrangement when we book guests. There are several hooks for towels and bathrobes but probably not as many towel racks as a more modern facility would have. In the way of updates it has a brand new double shower, a new soaking tub and new vanity with 2 sinks. As for the stairs and furniture, they are all pictured clearly in the photo gallery on-line, a fact that makes me wonder if you looked at the photos before you booked your stay. I am thinking that perhaps a relative or someone else might have done the booking for you in which case you may not have viewed the house photos. Although I am very sorry that you were inconvenienced, I also feel that if you had done your homework online, you would have known to book a facility that was more in line with your tastes.

My family of six stayed at this very cozy and roomy victorian in the upper Queen Anne district for one week in early August, 2012 and had a great time. The home is fully furnished and has all of the things you would want in a vacation home. In addition, its in a quiet residential neighborhood but only a five minute (four block) walk westerly to the fun restaurants, shops, markets, coffee places and other small town amenities of uppper Queen Anne. Its located less than three miles from downtown (a $10 or less taxi ride taking 10 minutes without traffic) and also very close to two or three public bus lines. The pictures tell a great story of the home and the property was clean and very well cared for. The owners were also great and very helpful!! We had a great time and would consider coming back and staying if ever in the Seattle area again!

We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable house. The kitchen is very well stocked and spacious, and the sunroom out to the backyard was our favorite spot. Owners were great as well! Upper Queen Anne is my favorite Seattle neighborhood - beautiful, classic homes; great walking routes and views; fun restaurants and shops in the main part.

Things we loved: walking to the Space Needle/Chihuly Glass museum, the mega-comfy couch and ottomans in the media room (and what a CD collection!), the private (and beautifully landscaped) patio, the sunroom--and that chef's stove! It was also nice to have cookbooks for planning meals, and two grocery stores just a couple of mnutes away. We'd have spent so much more if we'd had to get a hotel room for each of the three couples, not to mention eating out every meal!

My family and I stayed in this lovely home while visiting Seattle for a wedding celebration. It was a wonderful experience of hospitality from the owners (fresh ginger cookies on the counter!), as well as above-and-beyond accommodations. The kitchen is spectacular, the beds comfortable, and the general atmosphere of the house warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this vacation rental to others, and would not hesitate to stay there again. It was perfect!

This house was clearly the loved home of folks with wonderful taste in art, music, books, and gourmet cooking. The kitchen was extraordinary, with a professional chef level gas stove and the best knives and pots, and a cupboard of spices and everyting else one might want. The couple who lived here are trying out living on a boat, and therreby allow renters the delight of their home. Everything about it was wornderful. Tho the house was built in the 1880's , it had all the essential modern conveniences.

My first VRBO experience, and what a great experience it was. Arrival was smooth, with a welcoming basket of goodies in the kitchen. We settled right in: everything was thoughtfully arranged and easy to find. We loved the eclectic selection of CD's and books. The house is full of charming details--bits of whimsy everywhere--the clawfoot tub, the colorful decor, the beautiful dishes. It was great to be able to walk just a few blocks down the hill to the ballet and theater at Seattle Center. There is no question that we will be staying there again on our next visit to Seattle.

The perfect place to stay while visiting Seattle....terrific location, beautiful inside and out just as shown in pictures. This is a true Victorian style home filled with lovely antique rugs and furniture while still having all the modern comforts including updated kitchen, bathrooms, covered parking, washer/dryer. Highly recommended!
