Beech Mountain Paradise, Main House W/ Cottage

Welcome to our Beech Mountain Paradise Vacation Home. With an elevation of about 4250 feet; you can see the nearby ridges and the multi-layer mountain view all the way to the mountains of Tennessee and Virginia all year long. We are situated between the Beech Mountain Club Recreation facility and the golf course; yet are still private and quiet.
With our main house and cottage under separate roofs and separate entrances we can comfortably accommodate a single couple or up to 5 couples, or 2 families making it the most unique and versatile on the mountain. Sleeping for 11 in beds, not convertibles, futons or pullouts. Did I mention comfortable?
In the Fall it’s the leaves that paint the mountain. Unique Fall celebrations include: OZ (the first weekend in October), the Valle Crucis Fair and Wooly Worm (the third weekend in October).
In the winter, you have easy access to Ski Beech and all the winter wonderland activities, just a few minutes away. Enjoy skiing and sledding on the highest slopes in the eastern half of the U.S. Just remember 4-wheel drive, snow tires or chains are recommended for safety to get up and down the mountain!
The Spring is all about the colors of wild flowers everywhere.
In the summer, enjoy the beauty of the mountains, the cool temperatures (natural air conditioning) and the activities of a Beech Mountain Club membership. It is an easy few minute walk to the pool, tennis courts, playground, Lake Coffey fitness trail, recreation and fitness departments and more.
If your idea of paradise is to sit outside in the fresh mountain air with gorgeous views, peace and quiet, it’s here on our deck. White tail deer wander by frequently. Native rhododendrons surround our property and burst into bloom in early July. Our property is large, gently sloped and walkable (no steep drop offs). No noisy snow blowers or golf course equipment. If you don’t hear the leaves rustling in the trees, you’ll hear the waterfall and stream nearby.
The main house is all on one level. The great room features a vaulted wood beamed ceiling with a to-the-ceiling stone fireplace and lots of glass looking out to the woods and spectacular long range mountain views. There is cable TV, Blu-Ray player, and CD stereo with a 3.5 mm aux jack. The master bedroom has a king size bed with the same views as the great room, cable TV and full bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed with cable TV. The 3rd bedroom has a brand new memory foam queen bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom. There is also a walk-in pantry, very comfortable recliners, rockers & swivel furniture, washer & dryer. Lots of counter space, a well supplied kitchen and a large dining table make it comfortable to cook and eat in if you like.
The completely detached cottage has the charm of a B & B with its own living area, cable TV, DVD player and a fold out table for dining, working or playing games (provided). One bedroom has a queen bed and cable TV. The other has a queen bed and a single bed. There is a shared bathroom. This unit has a microwave, refrigerator / freezer (will hold several half gallons of ice cream or frozen meals and ice trays) and coffee maker. You are on vacation!

After researching many properties on Beech, this one looked like the best set up for families and I was right. We stayed at this property for two weeks in October with our five children and loved it. The grounds were great for the children to explore and we could not ask for a better location. We could walk to the lake, playground, basketball courts, and the walking trails. The house was equipped with everything we needed, plus a beautiful view! Definitely, would recommend for a great family getaway!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.
Owner response: I'm so glad that your children had fun exploring our grounds. They would love the Beech Mountain Club pool that's open Memorial Day to Labor Day. It has a mushroom waterfall and walk through pulsating water fountains. It's walking distance from our home too. Donna ,owner

The listing and description does not do it justice, beautiful and secluded, yet minutes walk to recreation center, pond, and hiking trails. Views are incredible from the deck. Would recommend this property to family and friends and is a great value. Detached guesthouse is great, having the cottage and the main house offers two families or several couples more privacy than all under the same roof. Plenty of restaurants to choose from on Beech Mtn and even more in Banner Elk. Although we did not go off the mountain, there is golf, fishing, hiking, and snowing skiing in the winter and a recreation center on the mountain within minutes. Off the mountain, more golf, fishing, hiking, zip lining during the summer, snow skiing in the winter, Appalachian trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, waterfalls, white water rafting (through local guides and usually close to a full day trip), shopping, and antiquing. Owner was a great help all around. Property was great for a short get away and highly recommend it for longer stays with all of the activities close by for the entire family. Will definitely go back and pass this on to others looking for a great get away. Awesome stay on Beech MtnRecommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Daniel, You sound like you really discovered the beauty and fun of Beech Mountain. I hope you come back to enjoy more. Donna, owner

The detached cottage looked like the description photos...very cute...very clean. Appreciated having small frig and coffee maker right there.Used grill one night too. View was spectacular...different depending on time of day and weather. Alot of little leaves had actually changed color and fallen and the tops of some trees were starting to turn. Saw lots of deer on and off the property, 4 wild turkeys traipsing down the road, groundhogs, and a skunk. There are lots of half day and day trips to do...visited Boone and Banner Elk for shopping and sightseeing, and had a great hike at Linville Falls. Lots of good local mom and pop type restaurants...you won't starve! Weather was in 60's on mountain...warmer in towns. Compete bliss compared to summer heat most places. Definitely would like to go back...maybe later in season for more leaf color!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm happy that you really enjoyed our home and our beautiful area. Please come back!

My wife and I stayed in this cottage for a long weekend when we decided to go see the leaves as they were changing in North Carolina. From the back deck you can see Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina mountains without even moving. We stood there with a glass of wine (don't miss some of the winery tours through Georgia if you are driving) and marveled at this view! This Cottage does not have a full kitchen but we had a BBQ grill, a microwave, coffeemaker and refrigerator w/freezer. There were lots of restaurants to choose from when we didn't feel like grilling. We are definitely going to go back, this time in the winter with our extended family and rent the main house, too! We can't wait!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners.
Owner response: Bob, I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We can't wait for you and your family to stay in our home during the winter ski season. The summer is also a great time to visit us because the weather here is like winter in Florida. Donna, the owner
