  Good Morning , This house was amazing, we stayed there 10 days with 10 people and never wanted to leave. Everything we needed was there and more. When we arrived we were greeted by one of the owners, Dave. He immediately made us feel at home , an effect that stayed with us our entire stay .Both units were spacious allowing us to be together as a family while still giving us enough room for everybody to enjoy the many different amenities available . Everything we needed was nearby and convenient. We were able to explore the entire island and return to our beautiful retreat at the end of the day. I spent many hours just sitting on the back porch , looking out over the ocean and watching everybody enjoy the spacious yard, the hammock, the beach . We were a family ranging in age from 60 to 21 and there was something for everyone . In the 26 yrs. since my children were born , this was one of the best Family Vacations I have taken and would recommend it to anyone .   If your interesed in a relaxing time and want to lower your blood pressure, you will just love this beach house! my family has been to Hawaii many times, but on this trip we wanted to relax, so we rented the whole house, upstairs and downstairs..........8 of us , and still felt we had our own space. The house is pure "Hawaii" one can be a beach bum easily here.....the decor, just what it should be.The owners, David and Dolly have done a wonderful job in making sure you are comfortable there. Enough lawn chairs and a great hamock to enjoy the day..a cold beer and a great book, can't beat that ! near markets, a nice sopping mall nearby, and of course in a car, the Island is yours to enjoy...beautiful sandy beaches...night lights and view to make one wish you'd never had to leave. PS....if I had a suggestion or two for the owners , it would be to provide more towels..and maybe better pot and pans. Also important to let the renters know that there is house in front of their beach rentals.....we were lucky, no one there the whole week we were renting. The owners were very nice and my family loved the location, the house ..and we hope to go back.......Aloha!!

  It is hard to articulate in words the spectacular view, beauty and location of this home. I had been to Hawaii many times growing up as a child with my parents and all of those vacations were spent in Waikiki Beach. Now many years later I planned a trip with my wife to take our large family on a trip to the Hawaiian Islands but very much wanted a beach front home that would accommodate all of us and still give us all the views I remembered from years past. I searched many properties looking for what I felt would be needed and when I found this property it seemed right. Of course I only had the pictures to go on but it seemed that it would accommodate our various needs. We rented both Hula Moon and Eva Moon for our entire three week vacation. When we arrived I can honestly say we were not disappointed. The view, the location and the entire home and property was as pictured. Absolutely outstanding. The location of this property was perfect. If you want to be away from the tourist trap then this is where you should stay. Renting a vehicle will allow you to get to and from all of the places on the island that you could ever want to visit all within a 30 minute commute. We spent many days touring the island and taking other inter-island tours during our stay. Coming back to this house at the end of the day was like coming to our own home. We felt very relaxed and safe. During the many days we spent sunning ourselves and enjoying the ocean we met many local people who lived in the area as well as other tourists who were renting other properties in the area. We did get to see and take pictures of the monk seal that Dolly and Dave mention in the ad. The house is so beautifully decorated with such a Hawaiian theme that you feel as though you stepped back in time to the early days of Polynesian culture. The sound of the waves and the spectacular sunrises and sunsets were outstanding. Both Dolly and Dave made the rental process very easy. We loved our stay at Dave and Dolly's home so much that we booked their home again this coming December for an entire month. We are looking forward to another awesome vacation this coming year.

  We rented both units and had seven in our party (including two couples). This gave each couple and each individual a separate bedroom. Very relaxing and great views. The downstairs veranda was particularly good for coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoon/evening. Good location for getting into Honolulu or for going to the north shore. The property was not difficult to find and the photos were accurate. The property was clean and well maintained. The downstairs dishwasher became unusable, but the owner is working on fixing or replacing it. The owner was very helpful and came to visit on the day of our departure. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others. If only one unit is needed for a group, I would recommend the downstairs unit, though the upstairs is fully adequate.

  My family and I stayed at the Hula Moon for a week and we had a great stay!Everything that we needed was provided by Dolly and David. We had nice afternoons boogie boarding(provided by the owner's) in the ocean.Beeing on the second floor was perfect to feel a nice ocean breeze!There is no need to have an ac in this house.The location is close to a grocery store and restaurants.Dolly always wrote me back concerning my questions by email before my stay. It was our first stay in Hula Moon and hope that it will not be the last.

  We really enjoyed our stay at Hula Moon / Ewa Moon. I traveled with my husband and his family (a total of three couples). For most of us, this was our first trip to Hawaii, and we were so delighted to find that this house is far enough away from "the city" to be such a nice retreat. It was exactly as described, with a lovely private beach front, and with the yard hedges, it felt much more secluded than I expected. The house was spotless, very comfortable breezes when the windows are open, and all the amenities we could imagine plus more! We were delighted to find lots of cooking oils, spices, and utensils, even down to small coolers to pack for beach days. Our family pianist was SO thrilled to have a piano to play, too! We also enjoyed the decor -- the house has a really unique vintage style without being distractingly decorated. Dave and Dolly were extremely communicative and easy to work with, and answered all of our questions very quickly. We didn't have issues with any appliances or with the wi-fi, which worked well (a couple of rooms upstairs have low connectivity as with any wireless; just relocate until you find a good spot). The upstairs deck is such a peaceful place to relax, and the downstairs beachfront yard has plenty of seating, plus a hammock. We couldn't have come up with a more perfect place to stay for our trip if we had tried! If you are a fan of cities and nightlife, this might not be the spot for you -- the traffic into Honolulu was the only downside to the location of this house, but the tradeoffs were WELL worth it for us, and if we get to go back, we'll hope to stay here again!

  Glad we chose the leeward side of the island. Not as windy, and the water was much calmer. Wi-fi did not cooperate most of the time. House got a bit too warm for just ceiling fans. Dryer downstairs did not work very well. But overall, happy with our choice. Both floors accomodated our family perfectly. If we did it again, I would stay at the same place.

  We came to Hawaii as our son was returning from deployment. The Hula Moon was just what we were looking for. Quiet and that down home feel.Dolly was very accomodating as our plans changed a couple of times.We stocked the kitchen from Foodland and joked about going all the way to Hawaii to go to Walmart. The beach and the views were excellent and the ocean breeze cool and relaxing. We would definetly recommend Hula Moon to all our family and friends. Thank-you Dolly and Dave. If we ever get to go back we will be calling.

  While visiting Hawaii to see our daughter's family, we had to leave their home while work was being done. Luckily we found the "Ewa Moon" for those few days. The home was as advertised. It is in a quiet neighorhood, but it"s out of the way which some vacationeers may find inconvenient. The kitchen was well stocked with items necessary for cooking, including oils, spices, etc. Beach is exactly as advertised, calm but rocky. The owner came by doing some routine maintenance. Great fellow-wonderful stories. We hope to return.
