My mother and I stayed for a week and loved every minute of it. We stayed the entire time upstairs and camped out on the deck and 2 couches. The house is older but decorated with love and care, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fish light at night and for the first time I even caught a crab in the trap provided. We didn't fish but they sure were jumping right off the dock the entire time. The area is peaceful and coffee on the deck watching the ducks every morning couldn't be better. The hosts are excellent and readily accessible at all time, they truly care about this wonderful home away from home.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We have stayed in many houses in the Rockport area and I have to say this was the best. This house has everything you need. We caught trout all night long on the dock and limited on trout the next day with a guide. The property was clean and outfited with everything you need from clean linens to fishing poles. Very attentive owners. Can't wait for our next trip to Rockport and the Swaying PalmsRecommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This house is exactly as described except better. Since it was just the 2 of us plus our doggie we stayed upstairs 90 percent of the time. My hubby caught many fish rightnoff of the dock and it would be a good place to bring your boat to. I read my book on the upper deck, the breeze and the ocean sounds were very peaceful. We did go to the beach, however webwent to Aransas beach since wenhad our dog. It was so nice! The owners have provided free passed to Rockport beach which I heardbwas great! But we did not want to leave our baby. The house has every amenity and is adorably decorate. Such a beachy feel. Lots of sitiing areas for large families and the yard is fenced to the bay, so some caution may be needed with adventuresome children. We cooked all ofmour meals there because we hated to leave it was so nice. We try a sandwich shop in the little shopping district next to the "funky ZEBRA". It was the best home cooking I have ever had. I had a pimento cheese sandwich that was soooo yummy and pecan cobbler. The shops were very proud of their product and it was expensive. Bottom line I would love to go again this house was GREAT! IRecommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was an absolutely fantastic vacation spot. The home was beautiful and made the perfect waterfront getaway. There was something for all of us to do. From fishing, swimming at the beach, shopping in Rockport and just sitting on the deck with our feet up, there really was nothing lacking. The home is fully equipped and ready for guests. There are several people in my family and there was plenty of room for all of us. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

There were a lot of places to choose from but we found the Perfect one, it had everything. There were comfortable beds with beautiful leather furnishings and tropical decorations everywhere. We felt that we were on an Island escape in the Caribbean .The home was so special and felt like two houses in one, so both my parents and us had privacy and still togetherness, just the right amount. It had lots of extras in the kitchens they were stocked with spices and paper goods and we saved a lot of money. The fishing was excellent we caught trout, reds and sheep heads and had a wonderful outside fish fry! Minutes from town but felt so quiet and private best of both worlds. We will be back and would recommend this to anyone for fishing, relaxing, or just finding a place to slip away. Both my parents and our kids loved it," my beach house mommy". Clean and well landscaped and in cul-de-sac with lots of fun places for walking or biking too. Got more than our monies worth, we've stayed in several in the area, none better by far. Even the details like a hot spot map and free beach pass were there for us. Right on the water loved having my morning coffee watching the birds from the upper deck. Don't miss this one you'll really fall in love, we did!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

JPR Houston, Tx/ USA Review Submitted: July 22, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008 I booked this bay home for my husband's birthday weekend as a 'get away from it all' weekend. IT WAS PERFECT! The owners have taken such good care of the home and the decor was absolutely beautiful...you felt right at home! The canal where the home was located was very peaceful and the breeze blew across the upper deck continuously. We spent the majority of our time on the deck. The town of Rockport, Texas is a great little coastal town. We will be back. The owners were very gracious and courteous during the planning phase and after our stay. I would like to thank them again for making our weekend stay so wonderful! Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Romantic GetawayDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Texas Review Submitted: May 26, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009 We were looking for a relaxing weekend and that’s what we got! When we arrived the house was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. The owners answered all of our questions about the area and made sure we had everything needed for a great stay. Since we were by the canal we were able to dock our boat along the house and fish and crab right off the dock. A pier is right around the corner and the town is only 10 mins. away. We would highly recommend Swaying Palms!! Recommended for: Age 55+, Families with TeenagersDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
