  This is a tough review to put into words. My family and I had a wonderful time at The Lahaina Animal Farm. It was the perfect setting for our vacation. We loved just about every single thing about the farm. From the animals to the people it was just a dream come true. We felt lucky to find such a gem in the midst of all the options when staying on Maui. This place was unique, comfortable and close to all our activities as well as other needs. The views are incredible, Teresa and her crew were a real pleasure. They were available when we needed them and gave us all the privacy we could ask for. My family enjoyed all 6 acres of this farm it it started to feel like home before we knew it. Coffee in the morning before the day began was always enjoyable. A beer on the Lanai mid day while watching the animals run around, or taking my kids down to feed and pet the mini horses was a real treat. All the animals were VERY friendly. You can see they were healthy, happy and well taken care of. Show up with a bag of carrots and you will find that you have about 8 new best frinds. The location NEVER got old. The outdoor setting near the home was great and we enjoyed our time playing on the grass and taken in the wide ocean views. No close by neighbors, bright shining stars, a nice easy drive to and from the home. We LOVED LOVED LOVED being here. Ive been to Maui before and I always have a great time, but staying at the animal farm was something we will never forget. It was diffrent and awesome or "more awesome" as icky would say. This is a 100% no brainer. For the cost and location it simply can not be beat Mahalo Nui Loa Teresa and Team - We looking forward to our return and hope that its not too far out.

  We had a lovely stay at the Farm. Perfectly set up for our family of 5 adults. The farmhouse is situated in a picturesque spot. We appreciated the view and gardens and quiet at night under the stars. Our son enjoyed sleeping on the daybed on the front porch. We relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed grilling local fish and dining at the huge outdoor table with an ocean view. The owner and the people that work for her on the farm property are extremely kind. The house itself is comfortable and roomy, although quirky in its layout, especially the bedroom with the king bed, as this is where the laundry is behind a partition. (There is no picture of this bedroom on the web site.) I am a person who loves to cook and found the large kitchen to be a hodge-podge mix of utensils and cookware. I'm all for shabby chic, but not plates and serving pieces that are chipped or worn out. The property is located in a great location on the island and we drove easily to everywhere we wanted to go. It was nice to step out for a morning walk and take the local trails. Overall, our experience was very good and worked out well for our family and would recommend it if you're looking for something different. We are strong supporters of a farm stay vacation and thank Theresa for the opportunity.

  Wir haben im Februar eine Woche in diesem äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichtetem Haus verbracht. Wir buchten eigentlich ein kleines Cottage und haben aus einem uns nicht nachvollziehbaren Grund das Haupthaus ohne Aufpreis bekommen. Die Besitzerin Theresa lebte zuvor in diesem Haus und ist nun umgezogen in das kleine Cottage. Das Haus liegt recht nah zu Lahaina und bietet einen wunderschönen Blick auf das Meer. Man kann an manchen Tagen viele Wale beobachten. Unterhalb des Hauses liegt Theresas Farm mit einem Pferd, Ziegen, Pony einem Esel, Enten und Gänsen. Dem Haus fehlt es wirklich an nichts (Hottube, gut ausgestattete Küche, riesengroßer Gas/Kohlegrill, Waschmaschine, Trockner etc..). Ich habe wirklich nichts vermisst. Für uns war das Haus eigentlich zu groß (drei Doppelschlafzimmer). Wir fühlten uns wie auf der Southfork Ranch. Das einzige, was ich bemängeln würde, obwohl ich weiß, dass Maui und insbesondere die Gegend um Lahaina sehr teuer ist, ist der Preis. Da uns dies aber nicht betraf kann ich das Haus wirklich empfehlen!

  Our experience renting this guest house was wonderful. From our very first inquiry to after we left, Teresa was so quick to answer all of our questions. When we checked in we were given a carton of eggs from the farm and two papayas. It was a very nice touch! We were travelling with our two year old daughter and our four month old son (our first time travelling with both kids!) and the house was very comfortable and fully equipped for all our needs. Each morning we enjoyed waking up to the gorgeous view and the grazing animals. The people working on the farm were very friendly and knowledgable, and my daughter very much enjoyed visiting all the animals, 'fishing' in the pond and 'helping' to brush the horse. The house, both inside and out, was very well-maintained, and we felt comfortable letting our daughter run around in her bare feet on the lawn. And there was a walking path nearby, so it was easy to get out for a quick walk if we wanted. We knew that travelling with two young kids would require us to be at 'home' for naps and earlier bedtimes, and this property allowed us to enjoy the outdoors and our beautiful surroundings while the kids slept. I would highly recommend renting this property, especially to those travelling with children.

  Our stay at the Lahaina Animal Farmhouse was one of the best stays we have had in any accomodation in any country. The house is set in a beautiful pristine area nestled in the foothills of the West Maui mountains overlooking the Pacific ocean and the numerous humpback whales that make it their playground during the time we were there. Everything from the amazing tropical gardens, the covered dining area or veranda overlooking the ocean, to the pristine house that had everything we could have wanted was perfect. The animal farm was an excellent way to start the day and perfect for our two year old boy who fell in love with visiting the horses, goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs and chickens every morning. Teresa and the rest of the crew working at the farm were amazing hosts, from the farm fresh eggs on arrival to the help and insight into the local options available to us. The 5 minute drive to the beach and local Lahaina town made it the perfect location to access everything west maui had to offer, whilst being remote enough to get away and relax when you wanted. We had an amazing time and will be trying our best to come back to Maui and whilst we stayed at a couple of places during this trip, we will definitely be looking to stay at the Lahaina animal farm again and can recommend it to everyone!!

  Stayed 7 nights here with my wife and 3 yo daughter and another couple with a 2 yo daughter. To say that this property exceeded my expectations is an understatement. This place is gorgeous in every way. Teresa, the owner, was a joy to meet and wonderful to work with. She met us personally and gave us a tour of the property...horses of the full and mini variety, chickens, fish, pigs, goats, donkeys...our children had a blast feeding all of the animals and so did we. We took advantage of the central location just south of Lahaina and went all over West Maui, Iao, Lahaina, Paia, Makawao and Haleakala. This was the best place that I have ever rented through VRBO and I look forward to staying here again in the future. An added perk was the hot tub. I know who needs a hot tub in Maui, but the kids loved it and it made for awesome sunset photos. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to get out of the touristy areas of Maui and take advantage of everything the island has to offer. It is perfect for everyone from children to a romantic getaway for couples.

  I just got back from my stay at Lahaina Animal Farm and it beyond exceeded my expectations! We were a party of 3 couples, and we were all amazed by how nice the house is. The house is beautifully furnished, the kitchen and bathrooms are all very modern (the bathroom water pressure is awesome), and the views are amazing! You wake up with a gorgeous mountain sunrise in the morning, and you can see an unobstructed ocean sunset every night. There's a BBQ pit, lots of outdoor seating, washer/dryer and an outdoor hot tub (the hot tub even has lights colorful inside of it- kind of crazy). The owner of the hotel is very nice and very helpful. She even let us visit the animals on the farm. We woke up every morning, ate breakfast, and then went down to feed the horses, goats, and pigs breakfast as well! They start running up to you once they see the carrots :) I would definitely visit again!

  The home we rented was very comfortable, even though we had a party of 5 living there for 10 days. When we arrived, it was just like the photos in the listing. Very clean and ready to go. We loved stargazing at night from the hot tub! The owner was extremely helpful, sharing information about the best local spots to eat, snorkle, hike, ect. The time of year was perfect for watching wales right from the front porch every morning! I would recommend this property highly.

  I mean bug-free in the software sense as well as the literal one. I have to think quite hard to come up with a quibble, something to balance what otherwise would be a panegyric. We loved the tranquility, the view, the kitchen, feeding the animals, the cat which adopted us, the site, getting to know Teresa. Every time I looked out at the ocean, there was something new to see. As my father said, "The place grows on you." Ah, got it: our mattress--which was supposed to be new--was not the best I've ever slept on. Would we return if money was no issue? We would. Every time we drove to a busier spot I thought, "We've got the best accommodation on the island." Three generations had a good vacation together. I hope you can have the same experience. You'll need a car ( I see that one of the categories is "tourists without a car.")

  My husband, his parents (visiting from France), our children, and I stayed at the beautiful house on the farm for 8 nights and wish it could have been more. The set up of the house and the location couldn't have been better. There is ample private outdoor space for everyone to roam around safely while taking in the gorgeous views all around. Each room in the house has access to the outdoors. We hiked directly from the house and came back to a wonderful outdoor hot tub. We all loved having the animals nearby grazing quietly in the field below as we relaxed on the porch in the evenings after exploring Maui. There is a biking path nearby, horseback riding, and a lovely beach just a few minutes drive. Teresa, the owner, is wonderful; we wish that we could have spent time with her other beyond the check in and check out, but we knew she was available if we had needed her. The house is well furnished with high-quality items and tasteful decor. This is the best rental we have found; we won't consider any other option on our next visit to Maui.

RENTAL AGREEMENT Aloha! Thank you for booking with Lahaina Animal Farm & Guest Ranch. This agreement constitutes a contract between the "Guest" and the property "Owner", Teresa Waters. Please note: • All terms, conditions, and policies are detailed in this agreement; • The owner assumes responsibility for loss of inventory, excessive housekeeping, damage, late departure or repairs due to abuse or neglect. Deposit An initial $800.00 security deposit, Cleaning Fee ($280) and the first night’s stay will be charged and is due within 10 days after making the reservation. Upon check in, this security deposit will change to a damage or excessive cleaning deposit. The deposit will be refunded within 7-days after check out, less cost of damage, excessive cleaning (more than 4 hrs) or any loss caused by Guest. The deposit will not be applied toward rent. In addition, the following provisions must be met for full refund of the deposit: • No late cancellation (see Cancellations below). • No damage to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear. • No other clearly excessive cleaning required. • The key is left on the kitchen counter upon check out. Cancellations There is no charge for cancellation with 60 or more day’s notice. Cancellations within 60 – 21 days of planned arrival result in the forfeiture of the entire security deposit. Cancellations within 21 days of planned arrival date result in the forfeiture of both rent and tax portions of the agreement. However, cleaning fee and security deposit will be returned. Early departure does not warrant refund of rent, taxes, or cleaning fee. In the event of an early departure, the security deposit will be returned according to the provisions outlined in the paragraph entitled “Deposit” above. Minimum Stay Requirement There is a minimum five-day stay for all reservations. Check-in Time 4:00 p.m. Check-out Time: 10:00 a.m. This is to provide adequate cleaning. Occupancy The rental is a three bedroom and two bathroom house which is comfortable for a maximum of six guests. There are two queen and one king size beds. Condition of Premises The unit and its contents are privately owned. No property belonging to the Owner shall be removed from the premises. Every effort is made to ensure that everything is in good working order. Please immediately report maintenance issues to (808) 280-2597 Damage Repair The "Guest" authorizes the "Owner" or her agent to repair damages or correct losses caused by "Guest" or invitees of "Guest". "Guest" will not remove or rearrange inside furniture. No Daily Maid Service is available. However, additional cleaning can be arranged in advance at a cost of $280. Linens and bath towels are included in the unit. Beach towels are provided. Please do not remove bath towels or linens from the unit. Subletting or Assigning "Guest" will not sublet or assign this agreement without the written consent of the "Owner" or the agent representing the "Owner". Cleaning Your vacation home will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected for damages prior to your arrival. Please remove your shoes when you enter…this is an Hawaiian custom. You are responsible for daily cleanup. A $280 cleaning fee is charged on top of the rental fee provided that cleaning will not take more than 4 hours and be beyond what is normally expected. Additional fees may be charged is the property is found in poor condition after check-out. Wireless The house has wireless service, which is included in the rental fee. The passcode will be given upon arrival. Smoking and Pets Smoking is not allowed inside the house so that a smoke free environment can be maintained for your vacation enjoyment. Pets are not allowed. Rules, Regulations, and Laws "Guest" will ensure that occupants adhere to all local Rules, Regulations and Laws. At all times, please avoid excessive noise and especially so between the hours of 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Non-liability and Indemnification of Owner and Agent "Guest" agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the "Owner" and her Agent(s) from any and all costs, expenses, legal, proceedings, legal fees, suits claims, or demands, whether from loss of life or injury to "Guest" and/or invitees of "Guest", unless same was due solely to the willful act or gross negligence of the "Owner" or Agent.
