Our condo is located in Bonita Springs, Florida on the northern end of Little Hickory Island. The Gulf of Mexico is on the west side of the island and the Gulf waters flow around and into an inlet on the northern edge of the island and begin to form the bay waters on the east side.
We are on the bay side of the island and just steps away from the Gulf of Mexico. We have deeded access to Bonita Beach which is a white sandy residential beach that is approximately five miles long.
During the months of December through April the weather is beautiful. We normally start out each day by referring to it as another day in paradise. The sunsets can be extremely beautiful too and I have enclosed a few sample photos.
Our unit is an inside corner unit which is located on the top (6th) floor of the building. The view from the lanai is spectacular. When I first saw it, back in 1997, I knew immediately that I had to buy it. From the lanai we look down into the bay waters where we frequently see dolphins playing and occasionally a manatee. Our master bedroom has blinds but we never use them since we prefer to wake up to Mother Nature (trees and water) and quite often a pelican or two flying by.
We recently replaced our kitchen cabinets and surrounded them with granite countertops. We have just put new furniture into the guest bedroom and new leather furniture into the living room. Our unit has only been rented 3 times in 14 years, the last time in 2005.
Bonita Springs is between Naples and Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Also very close are Sanibel, Captiva, and Fort Myers. Marco Island and the Everglades (with some great air boat rides) are only a short distance away.
The Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox both have spring training camps down here. And, the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford winter homes and museums are very close by. There are so many attractions in the area that it would be hard to list them.

Spent time here a couple of years ago and couldn't believe the relative proximity to everything in Bonita and the surrounding area. Shopping, dining, beach time and private time; they all left us longing for another month in FLA. The view from the lanai is spectacular and accommodations are impeccable. Great communication, not a thing missing; a true turn-key vacation experience. Can't wait to get back!Recommended for: Age 55+.

Rates
January, Februay, March $4,000 per month December and April $3,500 per month All Other Months $2,500 per month Typically, the 6% Florida Sales Tax and 5% Tourist Tax are ADDED to the rent. I will pay the combined 11% taxes and also cleaning fees. This is a savings of $500 per month. Condo association policy limits rentals to a minmum of one month.

About the owner: My wife (Katie) and I purchased our condo back in 1997. We are from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. For the past 14 years we have wintered in Florida and I have many wonderful memories of our time here. Katie passed away iin August of 2011 and I have decided to rent the condo this winter and perhaps year round. When the market improves, I will put the condo up for sale.
