Nestled on two acres along the banks of the Rogue River, the Rogue River Lodge is one of the earliest known lodges built in the Upper Rogue Valley that is still in existence today.

Reopened on August 18, 2010, our beautifully redecorated facility features two lounges, a spacious deck with gorgeous view of the river, private dining room for intimate gatherings and our newly renovated cabin. One visit and it’s easy to see why this new “historic” lodge is the perfect place to enjoy both an exceptional meal and casual dining experience.

The dining room has been extensively remodeled to provide a warm and open environment for as many as 60 guests. Flowing seamless to the kitchen, the expanded floor plan joins original and innovative design elements together for a fresh yet classic feel. Additional facilities include a small private dining room, as well as outdoor dining accommodations on the deck.

Complimenting the new look and feel of the lodge is our completely revamped menu. Combining classic favorites and innovative entrées, Chef Christopher Summers has created a bill of fare to please fine and casual diners alike.

The Rogue River Lodge is excited to announce the re-opening of the only remaining original cabin as of October 2011.

Completed in 1937 as part of the original lodge, the cabin has been lovingly restored to reflect the ambiance of the mid 1930's era. Step back into a simpler time with our one bedroom cabin with amenities that include an antique kitchenette, bathroom, sitting room and French doors that open onto a spacious deck, just feet away from the Rogue River.

Enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the deck watching for bald eagles flying and salmon jumping or just drift off to sleep listening to the light rapids of the Rogue.

This cozy home-away-from -home sleeps up to four persons, with a queen bed in the bedroom, and a double fold out futon bed in the living area. Enjoy a continental breakfast delivered to the cabin each morning or use the antique crank phone to order room service for lunch, dinner or cocktails.

Rogue River Lodge offers an amazing range of things to do in the nearby area. Whether it’s a round of golf, fishing, hiking or wine tasting in the summer or skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing in the winter there are plenty of opportunities to explore the sights and tastes of the region, year round.

The Rogue River Lodge has received Trip Advisor's 2012 Certificate of Excellence Award as well as Jackson County / Medford Chamber of Commerece 2012 Small Business Excellence award.

Keywords: The cabin is ideal for tourists & locals - located just 30 minutes from Medford, and 50 miles to Crater Lake, minutes from Lost Creek Lake, and a short drive to Prospect and Union Creek.

This is our 5th stay at the "cabin". We love it!! We sit out on the deck in the morning and evening. We had coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. It is a beautiful view and there are lots of birds to watch. We always take all of our meals at the Lodge. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We have taken our dog once and she seems to really enjoy it also!

Beutiful cabin, restored and decorated with every care to era spacific detail. Owner is very kind and willing to go the extra mile, very pleasant person. The resturants food was out of this word. If you can stay for sunday brunch you wont be disapointed. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again. The only thing i didnt care for was on fri and Sat nites patrens from the bar would come down to the rivers edge behind cabin...killing the mood and setting with the invasion of privicey and thier loud foul language.

You could not ask for finer hosting than at this step-back-in-time re-creation of a river cabin from the 1930s. Down to the last detail, it is period-authentic—well, the ice box functions like a refrigerator, but that's because the ice man no longer cometh. Beyond that, the warmth, the caring of this property's owners make guests feel truly appreciated—especially with that delicious breakfast they carry to your door! Highly recommended for a laid-back getaway on the beautiful Rogue River.

The cottage is peaceful with a long deck on the Rogue River, double doors from the living room and bedroom open up onto this deck. The entire cabin is filled with antique and vintage fixtures and decor (best for adults). The kitchen has antique fixtures that function for simple needs, a stove that will boil water and an fridge that keeps things cool. The queen sized bed is comfortable, a cushion top has been added to the mattress. A large outdoor dining area with strung lights welcomes guests and diners at the lodge, this grassy area with large shady oaks is visible from the living room. Meals at the Lodge are prepared with care, highlighting local wines and Northwest ingredients (the salmon cakes are amazing). One of the most delightful parts of our stay was the breakfast delivered to the cabin, one day it was two large slices of delicious quiche and the second day it was fluffy slices of raisin bread french toast, all with coffee and orange juice. So, the feel of the cabin is much more like a private bed and breakfast. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed staying at the Rogue River Lodge. The setting was absolutely fantastic - quiet and peaceful. The cabin was great with lots of rustic details. Lee brought a delicious breakfast every morning that I would eat by the river. All in all the accommodations could not have been better. I highly recommend staying there for a private and relaxing experience.

We stumbled upon the Rogue River Lodge on accident, and what a fantastic "accident" it was! The food is to die for, the cabin is quaint & cozy, and the hospitality and service provided by Lee & Anne is unmatched. We had dinner reservations the night we arrived, and we were treated to a fireside table and a menu that wouldn't quit! The toughest part of the evening was making decisions! Each of us enjoyed our meal (salmon for him, steak for her) immensely, and dessert was divine. (We were so full by that point that we took dessert back to the cabin for later!) Lee and Anne were so friendly, and happily shared their story with us. They shared the history of the place, educated us in the 30's era antiques throughout the cabin, and were extremely outgoing & welcoming. The cabin is fully restored with all of the modern amenities, but is decorated in mid-1930s style, providing nostalgic memories for "seasoned" travelers and quite the education for those of us who are still quite "green". :-). Breakfast in the morning was anything BUT "continental" as they called it. Homemade breakfast quiche with rich roasted coffee, fresh-squeezed OJ & piping hot tea really hit the spot. This was a very relaxing stay -- especially for a quick "overnighter", and we will definitely be back! Thanks for your hospitality in providing us with a "home away from home".

Charming unique place. Fireplace was nice on the cool night. Breakfast came just as scheduled and was very ample. Bed was comfy and with the heater the bathroom was warm. Couch was not particularly comfortable for sitting.

I surprised my husband for his birthday, we were both surprised as how cute this cabin was !! It was cold and windy and perfect to turn the fireplace on and share some wine ! The cabin is down on the river and is away from everyone. Quiet and secluded.. PERFECT ! No TV.. just games and quiet... We had dinner upstairs and it was sooo good! I had the prime rib and my husband had the pasta dish with prime rib. Waitress was wonderful and so attentive and friendly. The only down fall for us was the bed was to firm and we did not sleep well. The breakfast on Saturday morning was a quiche that was to die for and fresh orange juice and coffee ! Oh my was it good ! I would tell anyone who was looking for a great romantic getaway that this is a good choice ! We will be back ! Rex and Melody

A welcome relief from the stress of life. Lee &Anne Kimball have created a cocoon of warm friendly atmosphere, personal service, helpful staff, and most important hands on retreat that is hard to find in today world. Accomendations a fully restored cabin on the Rouge River to the 1930s. With total river view off the deck. The lodge itself has 2 restaurants with the option of fine dining or more causal dining and has a great wine list. We had dinner in the causal restaurant with friends and was treated to a peek of the unground wine cellar fron Lee. We were so happy with this resort that we have made revservation for 2 stays next year. My husband and I highly recommend The Rouge River Lodge.

                              Owner info

                              Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: For over eighteen years, Lee and Anne Kimball had enjoyed coming to Medford to visit family and dreamed of someday owning a retirement home along the Rogue River. In the spring of 2009, they learned that the lodge was for sale and decided to purchase this historic property. They could envision the potential opportunity that existed in restoring such a unique venue. Both veterans of the restaurant and hospitality industries, the couple utilized their collective talents to create a new vision and era for the Lodge. Lee's background of construction and facilities for numerous national restaurant chains, as well as his reputation and vision, can be seen throughout the property. Anne's organizational expertise and culinary experience helped her to assemble the menus and wine lists that would not only meet customer's expectation, but build strong vendor partnerships. According to the couple, what was most exciting was the opportunity to assemble a team of employees that would not execute their vision, but become part of the Rogue River Lodge family. “Whether it is the kitchen staff, servers or bartenders, our goal is to be the employer of choice -providing a safe and fun working environment for our entire team.” It is evident with the many positive reviews on Yelp!, Tripadvisor, etc. that their efforts are recognized by locals and tourists alike.

Why the Owner Chose Shady Cove:
Anne's parents retired to Medford over 20 years ago and slowly Anne's family has relocated to the Medford/Trail area. We learned that the Lodge was available for sale and recognized the potential the property had and felt that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring back to life one of the original dining lodges of the Rogue Valley.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
A guest last week was enjoying a private dinner on the cabin deck, dining on a fresh steelhead special we had that evening. A mature bald eagle flew down in front of them, grabbed a salmon from the river and proceeded to eat his salmon, while the guests enjoyed their dinner. Where else could you experience such a unique opportunity? Prop open the bedroom doors, and go to bed listing to the gentle noise of the river, breathing in fresh air and seeing a beautiful array for stars overhead. All within minutes from one of Southern Oregon's newest and exciting dining destinations.
