This was a great rental. BJ (the owner) stopped by and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed...which we did. It was great meeting her. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. The house was located perfectly on the beach. We enjoyed the entire week and will definitely plan on coming back. We had no complaints about the house and ameniites. You definitely need to visit the State Park while on the island.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We just love this place! Have had quite a few visits in late April and have had multiple dolphin sightings from the top deck every time! Not just one or two, but dozens at a time! Beautiful decor, comfy beds, it's all good. We loved "Circle of Friends" on Thursday night at "Sometimes It's Hotter"! Great place to meet people. Also loved Boss Oyster in Appalachicola.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The Litehouse is very comfortable and spacious. The 3 decks provide lots of space for families to spread out and enjoy the beautiful views of the beach. The best seared tuna can be enjoyed at Harry A's. Would definitely come back to this propertyRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I have rented numerous properties on the island - this was above average. The house is well furnished and in good repair. It has EVERYTHING you will need for your stay. While many properties are "worn and a little tired" this place is in great shape. The owner was available but not obtrusive and incredibly charming. The house is central to everything on the island - so park your car and walk anywhere you need to go. I will definately be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Why the Owner Chose Gulf Beaches:
St. George Island is a 22-mile barrier island with some of the most beautiful and serene beaches on the Gulf Coast. It is one of the last inhabited, yet unspoiled, barrier islands of Florida, with miles of uncrowded beaches for sunning and shelling, clear Gulf waters for swimming and excellent fishing, pristine marshes for wildlife viewing.
The newly erected 79 foot St George Island Lighthouse stands proudly in the center of the island.
St. George Island State Park occupies the far eastern end of the island where you will find nine miles of pristine shoreline, majestic dunes, bay forest, sandy coves and salt marshes. The park has a series of hiking trails, boardwalks and observation platforms. Bird watching is a popular activity here. You might encounter one of the many migratory birds that use the island as a stopover on their way south or north.
Sail or powerboats are available for rent, or rent a kayak and explore the remote bays and inlets where you might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle over head or a dolphin swimming in the surf. Rent a bike and ride the paved bike trail or head down to the state park for off road trails.
If you like to fish you'll be in heaven on St. George Island where even a novice fisherman can bring home a fanciful treat for the evening meal. If cooking is not on the agenda, St. George has a variety of eateries that serve only the freshest local seafood. Enjoy oysters surfside or dine on the bay watching the sunset. After dark the Island nightclubs offer live music, billiards, darts and other games. If that is not your thing, just recline on the beach and watch the moonrise over the Gulf or take the kids and watch the sand crabs scramble from hole to hole.
Finally, visit the great shops on the island that carry everything from beach gear, clothing, gifts and books to gourmet treats, original artwork and jewelry. As an additional treat, stop off for a refreshing fresh fruit smoothie, a cup of gourmet coffee or ice cream.
