  I visited DC during our union's legislative conference week, and spent most of my time on the Hill visiting various congressional staffers. However, I also had two Thai high school exchange students along with me, and they spent all week exploring DC. We all found the neighborhood to be delightful and safe. Transportation was easy from the Metro, although I recommend checking out the bus system to get to a few places like the Cathedral and Georgetown. The house itself was comfortable and clean, and all the appliances in the kitchen worked well. The kitchen included (very much appreciated) basic supplies, like salt, spices, sugar, cooking oil, and coffee packets! The fold out couch was easy to use, although with the usual lumpiness of a hide-a-bed. The room was a bit short on pillowcases and could have used another towel or two in the kitchen for a weeklong stay. However, the only significant issue I had was the WiFi was fairly slow and tended to go down periodically and need restarting. This is likely to only be an issue for business travelers who need a reliable connection for VPN or other business programs.

  Convenient to both House and Senate office buildings, easy access to Metro and PA Ave restaurants. Very nice accommodations and very gracious hosts. I was by myself but it would have been perfect for my husband and me, not sure how well it would work for many more. Very comfy sofa in living room, easy wifi access, nice firm mattress on bed, good water pressure in shower. Availabilty of coffee packets and tea bags were appreciated! Look forward to staying there again and recommending it to other Hill staffers as a nice alternative to hotels.

  I chose this apartment because it is a few blocks from my son's apartment. I travelled to DC on business and then spent the weekend with my son. The apartment is perfect. Clean and plenty of space to relax and work. Great location (2 blocks from Port City Coffee and Eastern Market; 10 minute walk (at most) to Eastern Market Metro Station; close to Capitol). Plenty of towels and toiletries and hot water (it was cold during my stay). The kitchen is quite nice with new appliances. Washer and dryer was great--they even supplied detergent! When I first arrived, the WiFi didn't work. Left a message for the owners. They fixed it within less than 1/2 hour. Great spot all around. Will definitely return.

  Beautiful neighborhood. Very short walking distance to all the fun at the Eastern Market, Metro and only blocks from The Capitol Building and Library of Congress. Make sure to visit Library of Congress the most beautiful building in DC. Very private and homey. Only negative is the living room couch could be a little better but that is so minor. Bed is extremely comfortable. We really appreciate such a wonderful place to stay at such a fair price.

  Very convenient location and charming neighborhood. We could walk to the Library of Congress, US Capitol, Supreme Court, Folger Shakespeare Library, with no problem. The Eastern Market Metro stop was a comfortable and safe walk. Many good restaurants nearby, as well as the farmers' market on weekends. The place looked just like the pictures, and the kitchen was well-equipped. The Wi-Fi was intermittent, but always solved with a re-boot (instructions provided). We were there at a time when we did not need either heat or air conditioning (lucky us!) so I cannot speak to those necessities. We loved staying there; I would definitely stay there again.

  Fantastic place to stay! The unit has everything one needs for a short stay. It's super near Eastern Market and all the great restaurants on 8th street. There's even a gourmet gelato place within a 5 min walk. This apartment is also ideally placed for visits to the Library of Congress or the Folger Shakespeare Library.

  You couldn't ask for a more accomodating owner. We flew in and arrived earlier than expected. We texted and Melissa was waiting for us upon arrival. Reservation process was easy and professionally handled. Unit is exactly what you see in the photos. Kitchen is adorable, bed is comfortable but the living room furniture is lacking. The green wicker bench was a killer on the back. The beige love seat is better but at awkward angle to view TV. Apartment very convenient to restaurants. Neighborhood is safe and inviting.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.
