  Just a note to thank you for the week in your beautiful Lucca apartment - it was simply wonderful! I am sitting here back at home in rainy, cold and grey England downloading my photographs and wishing already we were back on the fabulous apartment overlooking the charming Cathedral. Everything was so wonderful, the charming owner and daughter were delightful and so welcoming - the apartment had everything we could possible need and the antique furniture and lovely decoration made it a perfect place in which to celebrate my special birthday - it was everything we had hoped it would be and more! We loved exploring the little streets, squares and gardens around us and enjoyed being part of the Lucca community for a short while. We would walk to the supermarket in the morning to get our supplies (the little shopping basket on wheels was perfect!) - we found a bakers shop for our bread and croissants and my husband delighted in the small cake shop where he would buy a different cake for us to try every day! We loved to watch all around the town with families going up and down every day - so much better than being surrounded by all the tourists - we were able to get a true feel for the way of life of the local people. The apartment is incredibly well appointed and so clean. Everything was a delight! We very much hope to return again soon - many thanks once again.

  We really appreciated all the information the owner sent us before we ever left California. Sending us directions for the regional train, and giving us bus tickets made us feel at home almost immediately; we would not have been able to navigate our way without them. (We purchased and left two train tickets in the apartment for the next guests.) We really liked the apartment. It was comfortable and clean and well equipped. It was very convenient having everything you need all around you. We loved the neighborhood. It is close to the main shopping street (1 min walking), train and buses. And the open market was convenient and delightful; I bought fruits and vegetables and bread, and even some linens. My husband and I enjoyed cooking a simple meal after a long day of walking, being in museums, and, occasionally, getting lost. One of the incredible aspects of renting the apartment is the owner. She is so helpful, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Both times she came to meet us at the apartment were at our convenience; she never asked us to change our plans to make it more convenient for her. No question was too large or too small. She knew where every little hidden corner to explore was, where to purchase linens, etc. She arranged for a driver to pick us up the morning we left Lucca, at 5:30 a.m.; she was prompt, kind, and professional in every way.I think anyone who wants to experience a neighborhood, rather than a tourist enclave, wants to learn how to take buses and "live" in Lucca, for however long, would enjoy renting your apartment. That is not to say that the apartment is not convenient to all the wonderful tourist attractions; it definitely is (it’s located right in the main plaza!). But it's great to also feel like you can relax and experience "normal" non-sightseeing life as well. The owner knows how to welcome visitors in a way that makes them confident they can be part of the neighborhood, and the town at large.

  We were 2 couples visiting Lucca for 9 days in December 2012 and found this apt charming and with plenty of room. Having 2 large bathrooms, was a bonus that we really appreciated. It is close to the main shopping street and we walked for miles exploring Lucca each day. We never cooked a meal at all, but it seemed to have everything we would need to do so and even more! The apt was very clean and the windows that opened onto the sky and the square were so beautiful....a charming place. The flat was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful with some special request we had before we came and a request we had before we left. We would recommend this place to friends and family.

  We arrived at the apartment after a short drive from the airport. Owner was promptly waiting for us and gave us a tour of the place and provided us with plenty of information for the area around us. Owner was very accommodating to our every need, as we came to marry in Lucca. We had plenty of space for our guests, since they flew in for our wedding. We rented 3 apartments from the same owner and in the same building. Everything is close-by, GREAT location. We have everything we needed and hope to come again in the near future.   We had the most wonderful week in this apartment this september. It's located right in the centre of town in the most peaceful historic square. It's large enough for 4 people to live comfortably (as we did) without getting in each others way. We especially liked the 2 bathrooms - one with a bath and the other with the most wonderful shower... Everything is new and works, the internet, washing machine, microwave, kettle... no problems at all. And it's immaculate throughout. We will be coming back (definitely) and hopefully to stay longer.

  Sonia's apartment in Lucca is a great place to stay, whether for a week or a month. It is spacious and clean. Very bright, yet stays cool during the hot days. Lots of room to sleep and relax after a day on the beach or in town. There were two of us, but double that and you would be still very comfortable. It is a walking distance from the public transportation and the town attractions, you do not need a car at all. The owner Mrs Sonia is very gracious and very friendly and helpful. The first day she showed us all key sites in Lucca, so that we did not have to spend time looking for anything. Will stay there again when in Italy.

  This holiday was our retirement treat to ourselves! We had a wonderful time staying in this superbly situated apartment,. There was plenty of space; the apartment was our haven from the bustle of the city. Peace and quiet with a fantastic view. Airconditioning in the bedrooms and all the rooms was a real treat as it reached 35 degrees end june! Sonia was brilliant; she met us and showed us everything in the apartment, how it worked, and also gave us a useful list of the best places to have coffee/ice creams/meals out etc! At the end of the stay she again called round to check that everything was ok and if we needed some help with suitcases, and was keen to know what we'd done and seen. She was really helpful, friendly and made you feel very welcome! Definitely would visit again!

  The description of the apartment and its location was very accurate in all respects. The property is clean and well-maintained. The location is really wonderful! The building is very old, with very thick walls and wide-plank wood floors. Sonia was very warm and welcoming. She met us at the apartment, gave us a tour, showed us how to make Italian coffee and how the appliances work, which they all do. Then she gave us a tour of the neighborhood, indicating as we walked together the best bakery, the best produce stand and the local grocery store. Being less than 1 block from the train station and 2 blocks from bus terminal was just perfect for our vacation. We could walk to almost everything we wanted to see and do. The restaurant on our corner was very good and Sonia gave us a 15% discount coupon for a meal there. We also found a restaurant across the square called ‘Cuore’, which was excellent. We would readily recommend this apartment to a friend or relative.

  We spent a wonderful week in this lovely flat and were very pleased with everything. The description and the photos are 100% accurate. It is true that the flat is quite large. We have stayed in several budget hotels before and are used to tiny, stuffy rooms and lousy service, so we really appreciated having this spacious, cosy, bright and well-equipped flat all to ourselves. We especially liked the gorgeous views and the fact that the bedroom had a fresh, airy feel to it - your clothes and suitcases do not smell stuffy at all (as they usually do after a short stay at a budget hotel). All facilities are new and modern and very well maintained. The flat offers every comfort you need, even a washing machine + clothes dryer and a Jacuzzi bath tub you can soak in after a long exhausting march through the city. We would like to point out that we find the apartment very warm at arrival and that’s a bonus! The ehating worked perfectly for our very cold week. – Also, the flat tends to get all the sun light on a sunny day, which makes the apartment very bright. We really liked the fact that the apartment is located in a no traffic zone and the street is not busy at all and we enjoyed very quiet nights. A small supermarket (open till 8 p.m.) is just around the corner which we found very handy. via fillungo is a great place to shop where you find all the usual Highstreet stores, but also some small and more intimate boutiques and cafes. Although Napoleon square and St Michel are immediately close by, you should also take your time to explore the closer surroundings: visit the Guinigi tower with its breathtaking view over the Tuscan countryside and the antique shops street, then walk to the new contemporary museum of art called Lu.CC.A. - it's really worth a visit! We would definitely book this flat again for our next visit to Lucca. Thanks Benedetta for your help and professionalism - booking went smoothly, all our questions were answered in no time.
