We stayed at the Serenity in late 2012. I agree with everything that was stated in both of the other reviews but would like to add: The entrance from the garage had a broken lock that we had to fix~otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep! There wasn't a remote entry for the garage either which was a minor inconvenience, but the garage was nice & so was the laundry room off of the garage. The home is lacking a powder room in the worst way- It's just awkward to have such a lovely home without a guest bathroom. We entertained & our guests had to either use the main level rest room which was occupied by my in-laws, or go through a bedroom to get to one of the ensuite baths. The jack & Jill bathroom is considerably outdated in comparison with the rest of the house. The master bath is lovely & well appointed but in my opinion the decor doesn't suit the rest of the house. The two secondary bedrooms were small but nice, however, the closets could use a painting or solid cleaning. The balcony or den is kind of a waste of space but is lovely to look at. Staircase is gorgeous, so is the kitchen & dining rooms. The grounds make this property, lovely & very well cared for. The hot tub isn't high-end, rather an above ground unit which to me doesn't reflect a high-end property. The ramada is the best but is in need of a good cleaning & new tv!!!! It's an artifact! We still loved this part of the house & spent much time out there. It was well done and thought out. The pickleball court and ping pong gazebo are great. The property could use a little decluttering of old candles and planters. They're everywhere. Worst thing about our stay is that we paid an additional $50 per day to have the pool heated to a comfortable 85 degrees but when we arrived we learned that the heater was broken. We contacted the rental agency and it was fixed but not until we were mid-stay. (broken part)Then it took a day to warm up so we never made it into the pool, & we never got a reimbursement for the first 4 days of this additional heating fee!! Owner was very nice, we had the pleasure of meeting him when the heater was repaired. Oversight, I'm sure but a pretty big one for either him or his rental agency. We are still waiting! In a nutshell, we would go there again but do feel as though the price is just a little high in comparison to other properties. The location is awesome, the owner is nice, the property is beautiful but needs a few tweaks to be worthy of the words luxury & estateRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

First, the good: the grounds are spacious, nicely landscaped, and well-tended; the appliances were mostly in good order; plenty of hot water; thermostats were easy to set and worked well; the recently-added hot tub was a nice feature; great location; quiet up-scale neighborhood; nearby shopping. The upstairs has a huge master suite with a musty-smelling walk-in closet. There are also two diminutive bedrooms that share a connecting bathroom, and the den. The fourth bedroom is downstairs as well as the third bathroom. This is the only bathroom on the first floor (no half baths anywhere) and the only one accessible without going through a bedroom first, so anyone sleeping downstairs is obliged to share their bathroom with all of the day traffic. Awkward. One can have beds put in the den (which we did), but this is less than ideal for two reasons: one is that the occupant is obliged to go downstairs for any night-time bathroom visit; the other is that the room is totally lacking any privacy since it has no door and one side is open to the living room below. The stairway has a small landing about 3/4 of the way up. From there, there are four steps on the right leading to the den, or four steps on the left to the three bedrooms. Neither of these have handrails, making them unsuitable for elderly or disabled persons. I’m not sure that it’s even up to code. Although the property is listed for 8-10 people, the table only seated 4. There was a hodge-podge of different plates, glasses, and cups—good luck finding 8 of anything that matches. No garage door opener was provided, so one is obliged to get out of the car and key in the code every time one leaves, and again upon return. The kitchen sink had a layer of grime in it, apparently not having made the acquaintance of scouring powder in some time. The ice drawer in the freezer was off the tracks, and it took considerable doing to re-set it. The master bedroom had a doorknob-sized hole in the wall, as there was no doorstop. The main TV was mal-adjusted upon arrival, with the edges of the picture off the screen on every side. There were a few light bulbs that needed to be replaced. I only contacted the property manager once during the week, by email. No response was ever made. All-in-all, no huge problems. But for a house that is listed as a *luxury* estate and carries a luxury price tag, I would not have expected *any* of these issues. Caveat emptor.Did you find this review helpful?
