Welcome to our vacation home. Rockspray Retreat is a quiet, comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 living areas cabin with a sledding hill in the back yard located very near Bear Mountain Ski Resort, golf course and zoo. Located on a well treed corner lot in a secluded neighborhood with plenty of outside room to enjoy the mountain ambiance. The national forest is just across the street.
On the east side of the cabin is a 3 car parking pad accentuated by rail road ties and six decorative rail road tie steps leading to a wrap around deck. The deck has tables, chairs and a propane BBQ perfect for entertaining or to be entertained by the antics of squirrels, chipmunks and numerous birds including two families of wood peckers. Occasionally cotton tail bunnies, coyote or quail and night time visits from raccoons. The top of the Bear Mt. ski slope, Geronimo, can be viewed from the deck.
The cozy den with a beautiful rock fireplace and TV has a queen sleeper sofa also an attached bath, including a stackable washer/dryer. Should you wish to sleep here you may close the door for privacy.
The vaulted ceiling family room is open concept to the kitchen and dinning area with a counter space for additional dinning. There is a TV and a wood burning Franklin stove in front of floor to ceiling windows which seem to let the outdoors right inside.
The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, crock pot, toaster, blender and coffee pot. Plenty of dishes, pots & pans, and baking utensils; everything you will need to fix a quick meal or a holiday feast.

Upstairs oversize loft offers a king bed, two twin beds and a sitting area. From the loft you can see directly across the family room and through the upper level windows to the spectacular tree top views.
Our cabin is no smoking and is not pet friendly. The garage is for owner use only.

Beautiful cabin with all the things you need. Nice beds and a big kitchen. If you want to stay close to the slopes and "ski-out ski-in", this is the place. We stayed for 4 weeks and had a great time. The only thing we missed was a stereo to play some music and maybe some entertainment if you're bored. Overall it's a great place and don't hesitate to rent it if you're planning a skiing trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just returned from a great weekend at this very comfortable cabin. We took our kids to learn to snow board. Cabin was exactly as described. Super clean. The first time I did not feel I needed to run around with Lysol wipes before the kids touched anything. Very convenient to skiing at Bear Mountain. We hope we will be able to return again soon. Suzie the owner was great to work with. Loved it. Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1995
About the owner: Our retreat is one hour driveway to driveway from home and we love to come UTH. So relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the critters.
Why the Owner Chose Moonridge:
We have owned one other Big Bear vacation home. This is our second 'fixer-upper'. We spend summers fishing. Don't ski anymore but hope you will enjoy our location so very near to Bear Mt.
Both our daughter and grandson learned to ski in the San Bernardino Mountains.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
You can catch a shuttle between Bear Mt and Summit and leave you car parked at base of Bear Mt. If heavy snow you can actually ski down the street to the top of the bunny hill if you get out before the snow plow.
