Situated in El Sargento near the big arroyo and hot springs palapa beach, this premium beachfront home enjoys unobstructed, 180-degree views of Isla Cerralvo and the Sea of Cortez from every room.
Our lot extends to the beach for easy windsurfing, kiteboarding, snorkeling or kayaking. We enjoy a favorable position south of the arroyo point, too, so you windsport lovers won't have to slog through a wind shadow to get to the good stuff.
Master bedroom has a California king bed and private bath. Large guest bedroom with separate entrance and private bath features a traditional palapa roof and queen bed plus full-size trundle. This spacious layout is ideal for two couples, or for parents with up to four teens. Our huge wrap-around sundeck with hot tub, hammocks and chaise longues offers great sunbathing, lounging and entertaining.
Additional amenities include weight bench and small home gym; stationary spinning bike; snorkeling gear; mountain bike; flat-screen TV with movie library; stereo with iPod dock; WIFI DSL connection; ceiling fans; rooftop deck; propane deck heater for chillier nights; fire pit overlooking the beach; and use of our sail shed. We also have windsurfing gear available by separate negotiation.
NEW: Just the two of you? Just-built, fully furnished casita on the property sleeps 2 with full kitchen, private bathroom, entertainment/seating area, wraparound patio, rooftop deck, WIFI, and most of the same amenities as the casa except for the hot tub.
A typical day at Casa MarViento (“sea wind”) goes like this: Wake to a magnificent sunrise over the Sea of Cortez. Sip coffee on the 'infinity deck' or go for a walk/run on the beach. Feeling especially energetic? Take a spin on the single-track mountain bike trails that lace the hillsides. On a particularly calm morning, take a kayak for a spin and check out the colorful reef fish below. About 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. most days, the wind comes up. Kite or windsurf as long as your courage, enthusiasm and endurance allow.
Enjoy margaritas in the hot tub on the deck as the wind calms and the sun sets. If your timing is right, watch an inspiring full moon emerge from the eastern horizon. Nip into town for dinner at one of our many good taquerias or whip up something yourself in the fully outfitted kitchen. Trade water sport war stories, watch a movie or just fall into a deep, soothing sleep. Wake up and repeat.

Amazing week spent at Casa Mar Viento. The owners are very friendly and helped out with everything we needed, including supplying drinking water which was a very nice touch. The property is gorgeous and offers the ideal location for both kiters and windsurfers as you can launch directly in front on the large sandy beach and even store your gear in the owner's shed/trailer. The hot tub was a nice touch at the end of a long day on the water although it would have been nice to have the water a bit hotter. All-in-all, this is a very impressive house and property and we'd stay again without hesitation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This was the second trip to La Ventana for us, but our first at this house. This house is excellent, very comfortable, and the patio view is fantastic! The house is located perfectly for kiting, as the beach is nice for launching and landing. We were treated extremely well by the owners, and consider them our new friends. I highly recommend this house for anyone who venturing down and some play time!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is an amazing property. The unobstructed panoramic views were breathtaking - we saw whales, dolphins, and rays, not to mention kiters and windsurfers while relaxing on the patio or in the hot tub. The house was very well maintained and appointed and beautifully designed with thoughtful attention to detail. If you windsurf or kite you can launch from the property. This is the best launch in La Ventana/El Sargento - sandy and not crowded. We also enjoyed kayaking and strolling on the beach and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We've been windsurfing in this area for over 12 years and this is by far our favorite place to stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Amazing place to kick back and relax after a week long motorcycle trip down the Baja. This place was definitely one of my highlights of this trip. The house is beautiful and the property was very well maintained. It's a windsurfers wet dream.......if only i knew how!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
