Accommodations: House/Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 5-7)
This two bedroom, 1200 square foot home is located lakefront on Chief Lake of the famous Chippewa Flowage. Down the road from Chief Lake Lodge and the new Pat's Landing Resort managed by Treelands Resorts, this home is ideally located for 4-season fun -- far enough away from town to enjoy the wilderness setting that the Chippewa Flowage is famous for, but close enough to walk to several lakefront restaurants.
Summer 2009 is almost fully booked and fall is starting to book quickly -- both are great times for walleye and musky fishing on the Flowage or just enjoying the peace and quiet of the northwoods. Warm days and cool evenings make sitting around the fire - either indoors or out- the perfect place to be. In the summer you can swim, boat (for great wildlife and scenery viewing), tube, jet ski, land a musky, get your fill of bluegills or just sit and enjoy the wilderness view and peace and quiet right on the dock. Fall's also a great time for walleye and musky fishing, as well as seeing the beautiful northwoods colors. And this is a great house for snowmobiling enthusiasts. Just drive down the ramp on our property out onto the frozen lake and access hundreds of miles of trails about 100 yds in front of our house.
Our northwoods home has two bedrooms, one with queen bed, the other with a queen and a single bed, as well as a sleeper sofa; one bathroom with shower/tub, laundry room, and all the comforts/amenities of home. Linens and towels/beach towels are provided for your use, along with a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy a wood fire (inside or out--logs provided) on a crisp spring or fall evening or cold winter's night.
We have a separate "bunkhouse" available for rent for larger groups or just to spread out. See rates below
New in 2009, we also have a 16-ft Starcraft fishing boat, with 15hp motor available for rent too. See rates below.
Resort communities of Hayward, Cable and Stone Lake are just a short drive and offer world class events, attractions, shopping, casino, golf, restaurants, and more.

The Unique Benefits at this House/Cabin
Whether it's reading a book by the fire or on the dock, roasting marshmallows in the outdoor firepit, fishing off the dock or looking for new "secret spots" with our grandsons, snowmobiling in the winter, or just sitting in the living room in front of the fireplace and watching the snowmobilers go by at night, playing cards or watching a movie, hiking through the woods or shopping on Hayward's Main Street, or trying our luck at the Casino -- there's plenty to do (or not do). The lake and wilderness are very quiet and peaceful, but there are a few lakeside restaurants nearby for a quick lunch or dinner if you like.
Owner's Map of Hayward
My husband John grew up vacationing on the Chippewa Flowage in the 1960's. While a lot has changed, the wonderful wilderness feeling of the lake and our cozy cottage on Chief Lake of the flowage reminds us of those carefree days. Now, 3 generations of Dawsons and our family dogs love to be together at the lake. Whether it's winter or summer, spring or fall, we love every season. Seeing the cabin and the lake and all its wilderness wonders through our grandsons' eyes makes this home truly special to us. We love to have guests and have many that now return year after year to stay with us. We hope you can join us and experience it too.

We all had a great time. You have a very nice and cozy cabin. We couldn't seem to find the walleye, but had not trouble filling up on the bluegill. The weather was great. Janet wrote a few events down into the guestbook about our adventures. Thanks again for the use of your northern home.
