We enjoyed our stay in this home tremendously. We had 11 family members in our group, including 4 little ones and the house met our needs perfectly. We appreciated the 3 separate sleeping areas with their own bathrooms, so that each of our 3 families could have some privacy. The spacious kitchen, dining area and family room provided a comfortable place for all of us to gather. We enjoyed especially drinking our coffee at the dining table, while watching the sunrise over the beautiful rolling hills. The scenery was spectacular, and we enjoyed walking outside, especially down to the creek. Since we enjoy birdwatching, the book on Tennessee birds and the binoculars were a nice touch. Our little ones enjoyed sitting in the child sized rocker and the desk with the child sized chairs. The owner was very helpful with suggestions for our stay, and we appreciated her suggestion to eat at the Bell Buckle Cafe, where we enjoyed a delicious and delightful meal of authentic country cooking. We hope that we will be able to return soon for a repeat visit. Thanks!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful time at this vacation place, with miles of privacy around us. The place was very well maintained and the owner's daughter was very helpful during our visit. We were a group of about 20 people (including kids) and could fit in very comfortably. As this place is located on a large private farm, with miles of pastures around - its a great place for girls night out's. Bachelor parties, family reunions etc. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and we would love to visit it again very soon this summer.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: In this family the men surprised their wives by having other "long-unseen" family members meet them for this "half way between location" for a family reunion weekend. They had well mannered youngsters who left Thank You notes saying how much they enjoyed their visit While the older family members appriciated the comfort of one level accessibility. I was glad to know our home accomodated all their needs even down to the use of the china tea cups. Hope they return soon. They will always be welcome. Emily Wilson

We had such a great time! The house was large enough for 5 kids & 3 adults with room to spare. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather - and enjoyed many hours on the balcony! It was such a peaceful place to be - my only regret was not scheduling a longer vacation. The owner's daughter and her family were such a pleasure to meet, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to make this our yearly family retreat.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Because of the children, these guests couldn't attend the Live Country Music sessions Fri. and Sat. at the Wartrace Hotel as I had recommended. Instead, they enjoyed family-friendly BellBuckle Cafe's live music, quaint shops, and a fun day in rustic Lynchburg, home of Jack Daniel Distillery. We are so fortunate to be able to extend a welcome to such nice people. I'm told they were caught in the act of slowing time as they sat on the balcony and watched their children wade in the ankle deep creek. From my young grandson, the kids learned to catch minnows and tadpoles. Another day my son-in-law took everyone fishing at the neighbor's pond. Hopefully they will be able to return soon. In my grandsons words, "We sure had fun". treasured memories.

We are 8 to 10 ladies that love to sew and this house met every need we had and lots of extras. Large rooms to set up our equipment (and we have lots of equipment), plenty of light and owners that are just the best. Though we haven't met them, they have become friends already. Fabulous family to work with. Lots of beds and more space to put a blowup bed if needed. Countryside is out of this world, quiet and calming to all of us. Home is clean, well cared for and comfortable beds. Fabulous food, good friends, a hobby we all love and this home that has become our second home....what more can you ask for? Have already booked for the remainder of the year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this house for a family holiday (6 adults, 7 kids) and it suited our needs well. The house was spacious, giving the kids a lot of room to play indoors, and the outdoor exploring was a child's dream come true! The owner was very friendly, helpful, and responsive. There were 2 dogs that live on or near the property that hung around outside for the majority of our stay; unexpected, but it delighted the children as they were friendly dogs. We did have to call the owner when the barking was too loud one night, and she was prompt to resolve the problem. The WiFi and other electronics worked well. On a scale of 1-10 (10 best), I rate the following: Cleanliness - 5; Maintenance of property - 8; Amenities - 10; Adequate supplies (kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms,etc.) - 9. We enjoyed our stay and thank the owner for working us in around the holidays.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: If 10 of your party arrives and unloads hours earlier than you, they WILL track dust onto the wood floors for a crawling infant to find.... Don't worry about it! Either pull out the cleaning supplies from the closet (if you are cumpulsive) or call me for help/consultation. Most importantly, relax and enjoy the calmness and serenity of the countryside, as did the other members of this party. I know because they sent a lovely handwritten thank-you note after I mailed a jacket they'd left

We held our family reunion here and every detail was forseen and taken care of by our hosts. 10 adults and 4 children slept comfortably. The children enjoyed the basketball games, riding their bikes and scateboards and singing Karioke. Our dinner was catered by the Bell Buckle Cafe. I highly recommend the oatmeal cake. Can't wait till next year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: Phillip is a retired horse trainer and winner of 12 World Championships. Emily sells real estate in both TN and FL. They divide their time between this beautiful home and a 2nd home in The Villages, near Ocala, FL. They share their farm with their daughter Tara and her husband Chad and 2 grandchildren. Another daughter, Kelly and her husband Keith and their family also live nearby.

The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
I recommend sitting on the front balcony drinking morning coffee while watching wild deer and playful hummingbirds or watching as your youngsters play in the seemingly endless front yard and enjoy the long paved drive. Early mornings are best for viewing cows, donkeys and horses through the fence if you choose to meander along the country road. With our four distinct seasons you can enjoy the beautiful fall colors as the leaves change on the surrounding hillsides or pick wild flowers in the spring and summer. Our winters are very mild. We seldom have snow and when we do it's usually a tiny amount that blankets the ground and trees in white then dissapears quickly, offering a different fleeting beauty to the already amazingly beautiful scenery.
